a moment too long on the control (which happens all the time as it is tricky to use and unresponsive if it gets a tiny bit damp) suddenly it jumps to the hottest setting for a fixed time period …so annoying! Another issue is that the markings indicating where the elements are are not accurate at all. The actual heating areas are far smaller, which is a pain when cooking with a largish frying pan - only the middle heats up.
It's different – Bought the SMEG to replace the broken 3yr old Electrolux induction cooktop as it was the only product that would fit our space without waiting months! use and can be difficult to find the heat control you are after. It has etched white circles which I think detract from the overall aesthetics. However, it does the job - my only hope is that it also has a short life so I can replace it.
