Not worth the money – Expensive unit, dead just over 2 years. It cost more to fix it

SMEG is not a GEM – Friends of ours have full range of SMEG appliances (Italians) & they are down to one surviving appliance after 5 years- including induction Cooktop, dishwasher, Fridge, Oven. The finish of their products is nice, but underneath the skin there is poor design & poor quality manufacturing.

sleek cooktop – it has very clean lines . gives the kitchen cooking area a very non cluttered look . but needs electronics updated or better quality boards used internally . breaks down regularly .needs updated electronics

Such great hopes – The induction cooktop is absolutely a great idea. It's fast and accurate. There are 3 main problems, however: 1. there is no halfway between settings so depending on the size of your pan sometimes it is quite impossible to set to simmer, 2. if your finger is a bit wet you cannot turn it on or adjust the settings (horrible in a usual kitchen 'emergency' "oh god quick turn it down" situation and 3. although we have been super precious with our beautiful cooktop, it has a huge chip right in the front and Smeg said...deal with it or pay over $1000 to have it replaced. Hmmmph!

Cracked too easy- disappointing – Don't buy glass induction cook top - It was cracked too easy. We purchased and installed it for 18 months with normal use. While cooking a jar dropped on the edged of it and it cracked across from one end to anther. Very disappointing with the quality of the brand. Do not buy this.
