Function controller stops working after 2 years – This is my second 70cm Smeg oven and both of them needed the Function controller replaced every 2 years. The controller just goes into a continuous loop or does not turn on or off. The first oven's insulation also started to smoulder. We only realised this after we had bought the second one and had pulled it out and saw it all charred.
Purchased in at Domayne NSW, West Gosford for $2,999.

Fantastic oven despite initial issue. Well done Smeg – Purchased January 2020 from the Good Guys, for $1900. We needed a slightly wider oven to replace a 70cm Smeg oven that was many years old, and rather than rebuild the kitchen cabinets , opted for this model which fitted straight in. On its first outing it became alarmingly hot at the top near the control knobs and display screen. Turned it off at the mains, thought about it overnight and tried again the next day. Again super hot up top, and a strange clicking sound like paper caught in a fan, then silence, apart from the back lower oven fan, which seemed to be working normally. Asked a question here on Product Review about it. Smeg came straight back to me, and organised a tech who arrived with a new top fan. Fixed in 15 minutes. Strange thing is the fan that was replaced appeared perfectly normal. Even the tech was unsure how it had failed or why.
Anyway, the oven now performs beautifully, is whisper quiet, and stays very cool up top on the outside....and it cooks amazingly. Such a leap forward from the old one.
All credit to Smeg for their rapid response to my issue, and efficient service call. I did not believe good service like this existed anymore. Despite the issue i strongly recommend this model.
Great support – Smeg sent a technician very quickly even though I wasnt sure how old the oven was. We bought the house a month ago and suddenly oven stopped working. Ive contacted Steve from smeg and he quickly arranged a technicians visit and all fixed free of charge. Very happy with SMEG! Thank you

Great after sales support – Smeg sent out a technician to fix an issue even though we were a few months out of our warranty period. well done Smeg. happy customers. While the technician was here he also picked up that we had replaced the front glass incorrectly after disassembling it to clean. thank you!
