Horrible Proud Mounted Oven – This oven is a proud mounted oven, not flush mounted to cabinetry like ever other oven on the market. This oven needs to be hanging out 25mm from the face of the cabinets, im pretty sure it is a design fault but they are not going to tell you this. It does not state anywhere either that it is a proud mounted oven so be aware if you are looking a this oven.

Dear Russ T., All our built-in ovens are designed to be flush-mounted to the cabinetry doors. If you have a 900 mm cabinet, the internal measurement is between 860 mm and 864 mm depending on the thickness of the carcass. The thickness of the oven frame is the same as that of a cabinetry door front, giving a flush install. Regards Smeg

Not what your saleman told me standing in the kitchen looking at it, this is why you sent one of your serviceman out and he started pulling the door off and hinges to install small washes to raise the door so it wouldnt hit the cabinet doors below when it opened. Cabinets were built to suit ans the salesman and service guys even measured it ans stated it was correct. The bottom shelve the oven sits on had to be removed and cut back to the inside edge of the cabinet doors so the oven door didnt hit the shelve thats meant to sit flush out inline with the cabinet doors. Design issue, thats all.

Serious cooks - avoid – This is a builders grade oven 900mm wide. It looks good, however it’s not well designed. The one rack which comes with it has a design flaw resulting in loss of workable surface on the tray. I’ve found that I can’t place two cookie sheets in at the same time. Seems a terrible waste when the oven is 300mm wider than standard. My old upright 600mm ovens from the 70s came with three trays, which I found useful. I’ve burnt myself on multiple occasions juggling trays. Xmas dinner was a real challenge for the first time in my life. I’ve just purchased an extra tray at over $100, it seems to me that an oven in which you can only fit one baking tray or cookie sheet in at a time isn’t really fit for purpose at 900mm wide. But it does look good.

Trays are testing my patience when oven is heated! – I am currently using the Smeg Classic 90cm Stainless Stell Thermoseal Oven (SFRA9300TVX) and having now used it for 5 weeks, I am having second thoughts about having this oven for my dream home. Coincidentally it is the same oven in the rental that we chose for our new build home. Great way to get to know it! Sadly, every time the oven is heated to 180 degrees or higher, the trays (both shelves - the grill tray and the wire rack tray) warp and pop out of their slider OR if I try to pull a tray forward to check the food, it won't slide back in smoothly and gets stuck. So much so, I fear it will scratch the sides of the oven and even the light cover as it won't slide in evenly at all! So, it has put me off having this size model in my new home. I am now worried this may happen even if I chose 2 side by side under bench 60cm Smeg ovens. If anyone has a 60cm oven and can provide feedback on their trays sliding smoothly, I would appreciate it.

Vapour clean not working – I have bought a new home with SFRA9300X and the door hinge was broken and the thermostat needed replacing. Now I have tried to do vapour clean and followed the instructions (putting 40mls of water, spraying interior, setting timer to 18 mins) to do vapour clean but the light doesn’t come on and nothing happened. YouTubed it and no extra details given. No troubleshoot in manual is LESS than helpful!
