electric power puts more oomph in the fizz, plus touching one button might put less wear and tear on the machine. The Power Source model is a nicer less plasticky looking machine and the bottles are push-up not screw-in. Plus it was on special so we bit the bullet and brought one home.

We used cold water from the fridge (we have a Brita filter jug) because I had read this helps with the fizz, we hit number 3 for max bubbles and OMG you could sense the power surging the CO2 through the water. It was so bubbly (loads more bubbly than San Pellegrino if you know it) and deliciously morish. We were both burping afterward (sorry, but pushing home the point) which is great because we can turn it down if we want to.

No more plastic wastage. If youre sitting on the fence like we were, I hope this review is helpful.

I love the 3 choices of fizziness (so far I have used the middle setting and it's been perfect) I found it on sale which was an added bonus It's really quick and easy to use It saves me buying supermarket bottles and I know exactly what I am drinking I no longer have to stock up on supermarket bottles when they're on sale

The YouTube Setup video was well worth the watch in knowing how tight to screw the carbon bottle and how to attach the water bottle. Very easy to follow.

I'm considering buying one for my mum as she also loves sparkling water and this would be convenient for her as she is getting older so she doesn't have to lug and store supermarket bottles.

Brought so much joy to our house – This has been one the best purchases in the house for the value. The little ones don't need soda or soft drinks anymore as the bubbles are enough. Simple pleasures. Show reply

lowered the fill level to about 1cm below the fill line and no longer do I get this shower of water. My Sodastream Power now works excellently. We in this house are very satisfied with ready supply of pleasant cool drinks.

Easy to use – We use ours multiple times a week and it is so easy to use, cost effective and great taste. We have also reduced our plastic bottle usage. I highly recommend trying.  Show reply

Very Disappointed – Purchase from David Jones Dec 2020 as Christmas present for my son. Highly recommend by the sales assistant but I wish I had read these reviews first. Like others on this site the machine leaks a lot of water during the gassing process. The ‘sparkle’ hot line has limited opening hours which has prevented me from contacting them as I work full time. After reading these reviews I will take this back to DJs and get a refund. NOT RECOMMEND. Show details

Broke after 3 weeks – Purchased on sale in December & used twice daily. After 3 weeks the machine would no longer grasp & hold the bottle. Returned to David Jones who refunded my money. I bought an Aarke Water Carbonater 111 instead. So far so good. Show details

Died just after warranty period – We purchased the top of the line model from a major retailer. It well until it just faded and stopped fizzing. 2 new cartridges later we realised it was the machine. Poorly made, leaking, water damage, bad customer service – I purchased this(NEW Sodastream 1019811612 Source Electric Black) from eBay store (the good guys). / week 1 / It started leaking. head office. / week 3 / No answer from head office. / week 4 / Used it at 8am, the power adaptor connector started smoking at 2pm (guess water damage). I was luck that I was working at home.

Two days later, i got email from head office. "Apologies for the delay in responding. Due to COVID-19 we are still awaiting on stock to arrive from our Global Head Office (based in Israel) which has suffered delays. Although hoping to receive more stock last week it did not arrive and we may not have now, for a number of weeks now."

Still no email back until 9th Nov 2020 from sodastream.

gas pressure. Same problem with each machine. We are purchasing the correct cylinders but I waste more gas trying to get it to work than making soda water. When it works it's great but it only works intermittently and wastes the gas

I now have a lovely looking Sodastream that I can't use and I've commenced purchasing bottled soda water... I'm so disappointed.

Terrible !!! Third one broken in less than 2 years – We purchased this from an online department store in Oct 2018. Around 12 months later it started to malfunction . forcing too much gas into the bottle) Again, soda stream agreed to replace it . I’ve had this third one for only 4 months and not only is the same issue occurring with the gas not shutting off, now the bottle holding mechanism is completely broken . Soda stream offered me yet another new one, this would be the 4th one in less than 2 years, but having lost all faith in this brand I asked for a refund from them, not the department store given they have taken it upon themselves to continuously replace the product directly . Now they are washing their hands if it and telling me to go back to the department store to get a refund, even though the original one I don’t own anymore as this is a third replacement. This will be very difficult This product is terrible . Soda stream you should be ashamed of yourselves , if anything will ruin the reputation of your long standing brand, this certainly will. Absolutely terrible product needs to be complexly re engineered

Awesome Machine – Sparkling Water when ever you want. Easy to use and takes less than a minute to make your own sparkling water. I like the Lemon and Lime mixer that you add. Love it! – My boys love sparkling water and we were just buying it all the time so it seemed like a good investment to get the soda stream. Well it gets used daily in our house. really can’t tell the difference between store bought and homemade (in fact it’s better because you control the bubbles). Highly recommended!

Less than a year – I brought the new fancy Power Soda Stream less than a year ago for my husbands birthday and it has already has stopped working completely. No power, no lights = no soda. :( For a fairly expensive product I would have expected a longer lifespan. Show details

Never buy Soda water again! – I only bought the Power Soda Stream last week and the family have not stopped using it. setting it leaks from the bottle when being carbonated. So we stick to using the middle setting. Having one bottle is a struggle at the moment as the family drink it all so quick, but its quick to refill. For outstanding results, definately keep chilled water ready in the fridge for refill of the bottle. Havent tried any flavours yet but will at some stage. Apparently great. This Soda Stream Power is a must kitchen device for everyone.

Amazing - never buying soda water again! – Highly recommend this product. As we do not have a garage at home, it was always such a hassle bringing soda water back from the supermarket, not to mention the waste from all the single use empty bottles. Easy to use and as the unit is powered, all you have to do is press a button and the soda stream does the rest. were a real concern for me, I Wanted to reduce my plastic footprint. Now I’m drinking even more water and have reduced my plastic bottle consumption. Win win! I like mine with lots of carbonation and love it served with frozen lemon slices or fresh cucumber/strawberries and ice is also delicious.
