TV is now 4 years old. The remote has always been sludgy and usually requires multiple presses to get a result. In the last couple of years the TV regularly shuts down for no apparent reason and lately we have been getting the white screen of death, which is sometimes hard to come back from. According to Google, Sony Bravia TVs have a life… Read more

expectancy of 6-7 years which is pretty bad for something with no moving parts - but ours won’t even make that. Sony used to be a top brand but now cheap and rubbishy.

I’ve been using the Sony Bravia 3 Series for a few months now and it’s been great for everyday watching. The picture quality is clear with good color, especially for the price point. The Google TV interface is smooth and makes it easy to stream apps like Netflix and YouTube. Sound is decent on its own, though I paired it with a soundbar for better depth. It’s not high-end, but if you want a reliable, no-fuss smart TV, this one is perfect! Show details

Picture’s sharp, colours look great, and the sound’s decent straight outta the box. Runs smooth, apps load quick, and setting it up was a breeze. Perfect for the bedroom or smaller lounge. Nothing too fancy, just a solid, reliable TV that does what it’s meant to. Show details

We purchased a television from Sony Australia after a television we purchased 4 years ago from sony failed. They would not take any liability for this and informed us we have to purchase a new TV. After agreeing to purchase a tv, the television was delivered, after installing we found that the tv had a catastrophic failure. We called Sony… Read more

immediately, (note that the unit had no physical damage whatsoever).Sony proceeded to tell us that the problem was ours and they would not exchange or refund the purchase.

Sony Australia has no local representatives you can talk to, we even requested a technician to attend to confirm the failure of the tv, which was totally denied by Sony.

In short Sony Australia DO NOT abide by the Australian consumer law. I have reported the company to accc and fair trading. And requested they be investigated.

I strongly recommend that anyone thinking of purchasing from this company purchase an alternative brand from a physical retail outlet located in Australia.

Sony TVs. Poor quality.. not cheap – This TV is very poor quality which constantly needs to be restarted. I should have read other reviews first which typically give 2 stars, these people are more generous than me. Other reviewers also suggest that $1000 dollars is a cheap TV. It is just a computer with a screen attached and for $1000, Sony should be able to provide something that… Read more

actually works. Imagine paying for a computer that can't think without freezing all the time. In terms of technology this hasn't happened since 1990.

Don't buy this Sony junk. Am now stuck with a $1000 object taking up space in the lounge room after only three days.
