STILL GOING STRONG DEC 2020 – Purchased new in 2014 from Harvey Norman after two warranty replacements for Samsung TV that failed. Cost me $2700. This unit still going strong and used for TV, Youtube, Foxtel, and holiday photos. Good sound with the six speakers, especially for us oldies with some hearing loss. Whilst there are newer and better units available with upgradable… Read more
software, this one has shown great reliability and quality that will be expensive to replace for similar qualities.
Useless – After paying $5680 for this TV which only lasted for 5 years and 1 month. Meaning that the warranty was just out of date the TV needed a new panel and Sony wouldnt offer any assistance in any way it was..oh well cant help you.. The panel repair was $2400. I will never never purchase another item from Sony again.. Show details
Briliant large TV – After much research I chose the Sony kd79x9000b 79 inch TV to replace the dying 65 inch on the wall of our lounge. It has been sensational. The TV upgrades HD signals to 4k resulting in amazingly clear and detailed pictures with natural and deep colours and great motion control. SD signals are less clear but that is normal for any TV. from the side mounted speakers is great even at high volumes, no need for a separate sound bar like on so many thin TVs.
Like all LED TVs the picture quality drops off the further you are from directly in front of the screen.
We have had no problems with this TV at all.
This is a big and heavy TV that took 3 men to mount on the wall. Top marks to Videopro for doing such a great job.
This TV is expensive but with it.
Great TV – Plasma TVs were the best screens available but no one makes them any more. After much research I chose the Sony kd65x9000b to replace my defunct Panasonic Plasma. I have not been disappointed. When viewing an HD signal the processor upgrades the picture to 4k resulting in amazing clarity. The colours are dense and lifelike and the motion… Read more
control is smooth. SD signals are noticeably less clear and the colours not so well defined but that is the same on any TV (rubbish in, rubbish out).
The sound from the side mounted speakers is great, no need for a separate sound bay like so many thin TVs.
I don't use 3d or smart TV functions so can't comment on them. The remote works well.
