Sony 50x80j Google Smart tv – Awesome TV and money well spent. Really like this TV for the bedroom. It has a great picture with the standard settings out of the box and the speakers sound like there is a sound bar next to it. I'm a big fan of Sony , everything electronic I buy is Sony and this is why ... It keeps me happy with my decision to buy Sony always . There products… Read more
don't break down often and I feel like I'm buying the best. There stuff is a bit pricier but in the long run there is no buyers regret that id have if id bought one of the cheaper brands on offer. This TV is a Google TV so it does everything android thst a TV has to.. It also has a large remote control with voice search function from Google Assistant. There is one thing that I don't like about the TV and that is the fitment of the back of the TV and is normal for this model. It has a bit of play in it and could clicking or be screwed down better but besides this it has thin bezels , nice feet stands and looks good . I recommend it.
Poor Quality and not durable – Sony Bravia X series There is a known problem to Sony that the TCON board in these series is problematic and TV screen will go black after a few months , < 4years of usage. There is no parts available and repair is not worth your money. Look for alternative brands in the market . Show details
Do not buy if you like to watch TV in low light situation… – Purchased brand new few months ago at Bing Lee. Realize the top, top left and lower left are cloudy gray. Figure might be too bright at standard setting. Lower the setting until less cloudy then ended can’t even see content clearly. Contacted Sony Australia. They react quickly but told me this is normal. Send few images with content barley… Read more
visible, Sony saids it’s within normal range. They also told me this TV is not design to view in dark. I asked them why Sony did not put a label or any information about this limitation. I would have bought another Sony model if I knew this issue beforehand. Now I ended up with my money wasted and no enjoyment at all. I will never buy a Sony TV again due to their “within normal parameters” standard.
Do not buy this TV if you like to view in low light or movies with darker/HDR theme.
30/8/22: I have made a complain to Sony Australia. They are offering me a trade-in and upgrade. Still very early stage and no updates yet. Will keep everyone updated.
Great sony bravia tv – Remote not working but tv is great and easy to navigate around. Remote being replaced by post and they were quick to respond to my call . Very happy. Would shop there and recomend this product
Never Ever Again – Disgusting customer service. No support for any product that is not brand new. The only company that I sincerely believe thinks customers are expendable commodities that have no impact on their business. Do not deserve any support at all.
An excellent Google TV – We have had a KD43X80J for three months. The Google Android operating system is easy to use. Our 6- and 9-year-old grand kids picked it up easily. The picture is excellent on HD free-to-air channels and through apps. Rich colour and good blacks. It has all the common apps built in, you just need to link them to your normal personal log-in. is often done through your phone with by scanning a QR code on the screen or a number code. We use our X80J with Kayo and apps such as Youtube, iView, SBS OnDemand, 9Now etc. It has built-in buttons on the remote for services like Netflix and YouTube. You can download other apps if you want to. The fast-forward buttons are a bit quirky.
Connection to your normal TV aerial, Bluetooth or home wifi network is easy in the settings.. It took a little while to find the right cabling and settings to connect an older BeyonWiz recorder, you need to get the output resolution right on the BeyonWiz (1080p). No problems also connecting an older DVD player. Once this is done, it's easy to select the input options using the remote. There are adequate ports for more connections.
After looking at other TV options, I wouldn't buy anything other than a Google Android TV. Not as cheap as other models, but if you want quality, Sony provide it and do a great job of integrating Android. Leave the Chromecasts behind!
Sony cannnot do no wrong. Quality tv Quality all round – I recently purchased the Sony 55 inch Brava for my dad but wish I got it for myself. The crystal clear picture along with the interactive features makes tv worth watching. The value of the Sony Bravia 55inch is spot on which makes you feel that it was the right purchase. The only downside is working out the sound system to connect instantly… Read more
takes some time if you have an older one.
Overall the Sony 55 Bravia is one of very few tv that has everything you need which will leave you speechless.
We love our new tv – We are loving our new television new model a at an affordable price, super easy to set up and ready to use within minutes.
