child, especially around school pick-up arrangements and general safety. In its current state, it’s completely unusable and fails at its core purpose.
For a product marketed around child safety and communication, this is a major flaw. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product.
Oh dear... Statistically I think you have a 50/50 chance of getting a doa watch... Open the box and see if it turns on before you walk out with it! I haven't got one that even turns on yet... written in code language that we are supposed to know by osmosis and customer service is a glacial to and fro with someone who is more clueless than you... Truly a dreadful product and experience I'll keep updating... After 3 days, maybe 7hours of waiting mostly with the online app I have an unconfirmed suspicion that, occasionally, a human responds... But he response is still a library file response, about the previous member being away from work, followed by a stock question can you confirm the problem is... And then it gets it wrong again for the upteenth time. Eventually they SAY it's being referred to the "senior" team... I've now got a new message that says remove app and start again... That's the senior team for you! No help with what settings the app and phone might actually need for watch to phone video calls to work mind... Just have another go... Epic! Update... Was referred to the "senior team"... It was suggested that I dosonnecct app and start again! This I did, I got one video call to connect after from the watch to phone but only audio worked... Now disconnected and starting the whole process again... 5days in a row on the glacial texting to get nowhere. I've asked for my full plan to be refunded and the phone to be unlocked free of charge so I can just use it as a normal phone... They acknowledged this request but refused to answer it...

today, I have received no respond from Spacetalk. Since I have contacted them the same day I receive the watch, I should be eligible to return the watch and get full refund. However it’s been more than a month and still no respond. I’m very frustrated with the and regret my purchase from Spacetalk. I am very unhappy that Spacetalk totally ignore my numerous attempts to contact them.

hoops before sending the watch into the repair centre in Melbourne... It was under warranty but we paid the postage, sent it off and then when we received it back over a week later, the morons at the repair centre HAD NOT EVEN FIXED IT!!! It was returned with exactly the same issue! It's like they didn't even look at the watch, just received it then sent it back.
And now I can't get hold of the 'support team'! No one will reply to my emails asking what the next step is, no one is responding on the 'support chat' widget on their website and no one is responding to my FB DM.
INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!
So, by all means get one if you're prepared to have to buy a second one if you get a faulty one!

definitely didn’t get it wet and if anything a splash from washing his hands. I also paid 124 for a few different plans while it wasn’t working thinking that might be the cause and they keep avoiding the question so they don’t have to refund me. Tried to return it when it hadn’t been used however bought it before Christmas to be organised for my daughters birthday a few weeks after and they wouldn’t refund me as it was out of their 30 day period. tried to make a formal complaint and it still gets ignored and no response and they are still taking money from my account. Would not reccomend based solely off customer service.
The problem is not the watch, it's the mobile service and "non existent" customer service. Service is disconnectted for a week now regardless that space talk mobile took the money, chat doesn't get to humans, support via email they respond with non-sense once every couple of days. second time our kid got caught in a short rain shower on his way home from school and it looks like the SIM compartment got wet so calls/messages etc stopped working. On the few months when we have had a working unit the screen controls are fiddly and the battery barely makes it through a day - even when the watch is locked out of most functions during school hours!
Now to begin with setting up the SIM/Data account and the watch itself is a little convoluted, but those of us with a bit of tech experience can work it out, with some patience... The problem gets unbearable when you then start having to set up a new account on a new device, the relationship between data account and your Spacetalk profile is not simple.
Through out all of my issues i have diligently provided Spacetalk support with ever detail and images they requested. The care factor is almost zero, the person handling my cases keeps changing so there's no real accountability. It can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks for them to respond, even after I have come back to them almost instantly with anything on my side they ask for. Not once has anyone called me to offer support or discuss.
So that's the short version... I've given up on getting a working watch and am moving on to look at other products. At the end of the day this is about us and our child feel safe and connected while he explores some more freedom, Spacetalk have failed at delivering on the basic fundamentals of that promise.
My final act in regard to this hopeless product is to come here and share my experience in the hope that others dodge a bullet and consider a different option. Good luck!

issue resolved. It has taken me 3 weeks so far to get a response as to how to post back my son’s watch to have the screen replaced. I don’t even want it under warranty, I’m happy to pay but can’t get the address or label for the service centre. They do not reply within 24 hours. I ordered a second watch before all this started and still haven’t received that but am getting emails saying they can ship today to receive by Christmas. It’s December 19.
I had recently cancelled my spacetalk sim and moved to Telstra because I would get notifications at 1pm saying my son arrived at school or left the school grounds. The service was horrible. The Telstra sim was working great (I paid $80 to SPACETALK to unlock the watch) then they updated the app and locked us out. That was a whole other rigmarole. He since cracked his screen and it’s been over a month now to try and work thinks out. I can’t get someone on the phone and the responses I get are either AI or telling me to do something I have already done.

My sons watch that I needed the screen repaired, I have been told by spacetalk that even if I am willing to pay for the repairs, they will not repair it because it is out of warranty period. When you finally get a human response, it’s all “I understand” and “I’m sorry” but basically it’s a “off and on” level of care. Get a Garmin or Apple. Less frustration in the long run. Great! – Both of my boys have had these watches and we have found them a fantastic was to give them a little more freedom but to still be able to keep track of them and in contact. I would only say out of everything- if anything I think they are a bit expensive compared to other brands and also being not water resistant is a bit annoying. Despite multiple requests to delete my data after discovering they've been holding it for YEARS despite not using this service they are refusing. Battery life is dismal not very clear you need to pay support to track – We bought the phone a few month ago . The battery didn't last a a day on standby. So my daughter didn't use it. Found the phone again .. as she needs to wear it. When it works it great..however the battery issue is not acceptable.
