Stanley Fatmax 4 Stroke 26CC Straight Line Trimmer FMXOP42602

Owned this trimmer for about 7 years, has been pretty flawless and never had an issue with it. Starts after a few pulls and goes hard. I wish my Stihl chainsaws started as easy as this trimmer. I initially bought it thinking it'd last a few years til I saved up enough for a decent Stihl trimmer, it's just kept going and going. In that time I've bought two Stihl Chainsaws and a Stihl BG86 but this cheapo Stanley Fat Max whipper-snipper just keeps powering along like a champion, I've had no reason to upgrade.
Purchased at Mitre 10.
Terrible quality parts. Pull start broke 5mths in. Replaced by mitre 10 (they were great), has broken again along with fuel lines degrading and leaking/not pumping fuel. All before it's 2yr birthday. Contacted stanley, unhelpful, not willing to help with clear product defects.

Poor build quality – Very poor build quality, split shaft joint doesn’t hold securely and neither does the mounting point of the engine to the shaft.
No warranty, no after sales care – Bought this from Hudson Mitre 10 Queanbeyan in October 2023. It ran fine until January when it started cutting out and blowing white smoke. Returned it to the store and on followup, they said they didn't know where it was. Subsequent phone calls to the store over 5 weeks, we got different excuses (don't know where it is/it's waiting for the rep to pick it up/someone will call you... but never did). Finally at end of February, we get a call saying the damage was caused by us overfilling and spilling oil all over it. And if we want it back, we have to pay a $97 repair bill. There was no damage by us caused by overfilling the oil, and no spilled oil when we returned it and considering the store couldn't even tell us where the machine was for almost 5 weeks, are pretty sure any damage like that would have been caused after we returned it. Fair Trading, here we come. UPDATE: Finally got a refund from Mitre10 in November 2024.
Purchased in at Mitre 10 for $269.
Warranty? No? Beware – I bought a Stanley Fatmax 4 stroke line trimmer in February this year fro Mitre 10 Bundall, Qld It stopped running while i was using it and never started again. It has 12 months warranty, 5 months left on it. I phone Stanley. Stanley tole me to take it back to Mitre 10 where i bought it. Mitre 10 told me nothing to do with them, take it to Trade tools Nerang. Trade tools Nerang told me nothing to do with them. To contact Smart Marketing group. I call no answer. I sent to emails, 1 came back with a message saying 5 day wait for a reply. So here i am stuck with a $260 pile of junk that has 5 months warranty left on. No one wants to to know about it. How good is that?
