Apart from the chain coming off on a regular basis, a mighty handy tool. Build quality is quite ok for home handyman . So instead of taking the risk… Read more

of felling a 5 metre tree in a confined area, I was able to just lop it down bit by bit. It only takes 5 minutes to refit chain but still annoying - doesn't happen to my other chainsaws. Partly a result of having less control of movement at height I suppose but also cheaper parts ). I'll add a video when I get a chance.

Love this hedge trimmer – This machine is very well built and still cuts like new. I have both an echo and this HS65c. There both about the same size and weight. They both… Read more

require about the same regular maintenance. This Stihl requires their gas, no cheap stuff or your going to run into spark arrestor problems. Needs regular use with no abuse like cutting barb wire accidents. It will last a life time. Only problem, parts and maintenance are expensive

A terrible product – My work involves using all these power tools all day. This is the worst tool I have ever used. Too heavy to operate and vibrates a lot. Chain is… Read more

always coming loose, you have to stop to tighten it pretty much after every cut also it doesn't cut very clean probably because of not having enough power and the vibration. I would not recommend this tool to anyone

Perfect Results On Box Hedges – This is my third hedge trimmer and hopefully my last. I bought this recently due to my unhappiness with the results and quality of 2 previous hedge… Read more

cutters, Husqvarna and Echo. The Stihl is the only manufacturer that seems to offer a cutter or a trimmer in their model ranges. I bought the trimmer as it has a finer cut which is better for box hedges, where previously the cut on the box hedges was very coarse and patchy, it's really smooth and neat -- now. I have a pole hedger that is better for more aggressive varieties such as cypress and will probably find it takes longer with the 82T on the bits that the pole hedger can't easily get to. No minuses as yet, other than not cheap by any means. Great Hedger!

Owned this trimmer for about 7 years, has been pretty flawless and never had an issue with it. Starts after a few pulls and goes hard. I wish my… Read more

Stihl chainsaws started as easy as this trimmer. I initially bought it thinking it'd last a few years til I saved up enough for a decent Stihl trimmer, it's just kept going and going. In that time I've bought two Stihl Chainsaws and a Stihl BG86 but this cheapo Stanley Fat Max whipper-snipper just keeps powering along like a champion, I've had no reason to upgrade.

Hyundai Hedge pole trimmer, It did the job required of it – Overall all it is a pretty good unit although I have only used it for a few hours. It starts easy and cuts reasonably well. However it does have a… Read more

couple of down sides. 1) The most annoying feature is the kill switch, it should have a small guard in front of it so you don't accidentally bump it and turn the machine off, it happened about 6 times to me in a couple of hours. It is more of an issue when cutting above your head as your hand eventually slides up towards it. 2) The handle on the shaft does not seem to be able to be adjusted for better balance and is only able to be locked in the one position. (A pin indent hole in the tube). This unit (as all pole hedges are) is a bit heavy so more adjustment positions for the handle would be nice to balance it better. I did not use the second extension pole on it as would be quite hard and awkward to handle with leverage acting against you as the handle position doesn't move and in any case I also did not need to use it to get any more extra height. 3) Lastly the harness could be a lot better for fitting and weight distribution and I quickly ended up switching it for my larger harness from my large brush cutter/whipper snipper as I had several hours of work to go. The supplied one is a bit small, flimsy, awkward and not very functional in my opinion. (You can get much better harnesses on E-Bay for about $20-30)

Apart from the issues I stated, it works well and I would buy it again if I had to replace it. If your hedges are about waist height or no higher than head height, then a hand held smaller unit (not a pole type) would better suited, but the Bougainvillea I was cutting were 3-4mt high hence the need for a pole type as I did not want to do this whilst standing on a ladder.

I bought this on a special from the Hervey Norman Online store, didn't even know they sold this sort of stuff till it popped up on a search for pole hedge trimmers.

centre and I would be charged because I didnt service the machine every 20 hrs all in the warranty card after i bought the unit what a joke.I do 20 hrs a month easy do the math.To top it off have lock tight the bolts and had to have one re threaded as it was stripped out but still bolts come loose unbelievable. So in the bin it went as it's just too dangerous. Another dealer told me that Stanley should stick to tape measures and screw drivers and he is so right.Never again , you have been warned.
