misfit , sink grey water would not fill into tank, broken outdoor shower the list goes on and on . I asked for my money back and they refused even after going to fair trading blamed majority of faults on misuse by me and accused me of mental PTSD to staff and was told under no circumstances would I get a refund they would see me in court if that’s what I want……stay away they are cowboys and there workmanship is a disgrace.

Untrustworthy – Ordered a brand new FX2 Air in Oct-2022. What we were offered was a ‘demo’ model that had clearly been driven many kilometres on the road and damaged, as you can see in the photos. They denied it of course and we refused delivery. Had to wait another 3 weeks for an actual new one. Ruined the experience completely. Zero apologies given.… Read more
Disgraceful. Too bad for them as they missed out on two caravan sales as we had friends purchase elsewhere based on our 1-star experience.
Our Brand New off road caravan – ***UPDATE*** We asked Name Removed] from Starvision Melbourne to fix about a dozen more warranty items. We asked that it all be repaired within 14 business days. His response was that we would have to sign a contract to say we are happy with the repairs or they wouldn’t given our van back! So I told them if they try that I would call the police.… Read more
They then cancelled the repairs and told me not to come.
I’ve now filled with VCAT. I tried to negotiate one last time and was told no.
***UPDATE*** 1/6/2023
We got our van back after being down in Melbourne to get everything fixed and checked over. When we got the van back most things had been fixed like the step light, freezer compartment, cupboards had been put around the water pump and it had been cleaned up. The inside of the kitchen cupboards had shelves and the hot water on cold taps had been fixed.
However the water pump was still not pumping (or pumping air), they had replaced the damaged rim/ tyre with another damaged rim, they had not fixed the gas strut for the bunk bed, they had replaced the AC charger with a 40amp no name Chinese made eBay charger and didn't refund us for the cost of the good charger or even returned it to us. So I complained again and also asked for a diesel heater to be supplied and installed for compensation of all this. They then sent the remote, gas strut and charger in the post back to me.
After some legal wrestling we all came to a compromise and agreed on an outcome that we all were happy with. They are sending up a new wheel in a courier and they are paying for the rest of the repairs/ upgrades that are required.
So all in all we are now a happy camper (pardon the pun lol). And very satisfied with our new caravan!
My understanding is this is a new van, only on the market for the past 6 months. And the van itself is an awesome van. Well appointed and under 2.5T! With a shower/ toilet/ inside and out kitchen and mechanically well designed. We just found that the items put on after the build was lacking a bit. But I am now happy they know about these issues and are rectifying them!
Would I recommend this van to anyway else? YES! Definitely worth it and they pretty much have the market cornered in the 2.5T vans. So if you are looking for a Van under 2.5T and with bunks and shower/ toilet then give Makara a call in the Melbourne office!
**************************** We were so excited to finally get our brand new off road caravan that I have been working so hard to get in the middle of April.
However when we got home we realised that quality of the build was not all that it should be. My electrician looked over the 240v system and has said it is a death trap and surprised they allowed it to leave the factory like that. The water pump only sucks from one tank but not another. Then it pumps hot water out the cold water taps. There was still plastic all over the van and it had not been washed. The 12v pump and electrical are all in one cupboard under the sink taking up the whole cupboard with no room for any storage and the 240v charger is a 25amp charger instead of being a 50amp charger (under powered and would take a lot of time to charge the lithium 270 AH battery bank. On our maiden trip the drivers side "mud terrain" tires were slashed through the side wall and damaged the rim. The air con and heater is tacked into a hole which could have been better utilised for storage and a roof top unit installed instead. When we hooked up to the car the trailer brakes didn't work and had to be soldered back in to be fixed. When I collected the van, there was no dc vehicle charging despite there being an Anderson plug for charging. When I explained that our vehicle is a smart alternator and couldn't charge the lithium batteries I was given a blank face (I still dont know how they thought you could charge lithium off the vehicle without a lithium charger???) So I went to ARB and fitted a 50a dc charger at great expense. There were multiple other things that needs addressing and we feel the attention to detail is not there for a $50k van. It almost feels like all the extra accessories are an after thought and there was no planning for it. I understand this is a new van for their line of caravans so kinda hoping ours was the first one and they still had a few things to nut out.
Don't get me wrong, We love our van! It is a compact lightweight caravan with great features like the trailing arm independent suspension and toilet/ shower and is under 2.5T. We are looking forward to doing many trips away in it in the future.
The van is going in this weekend to get everything fixed and repaired. So we will update this review after this repairs are done. Fingers crossed the team pull out all the stops and it is all fixed and we are yet another happy camper!
Just picked up our new PX1 – We just picked up our new PX1 from Kyle at the Geelong show room. Kyle has been great and his customer service has been awesome, gave us a great overview of the van in simple terms. We are looking forward to hitting the road and having fun. Well done Kyle Show details
Great value for money. Easy to set up. Happy as – The Sirius B is a good camper and good value for money. Only one thing wrong was the gas was set up for mains gas and not LPG, even though it had a LPG sticker on the stove. Cost me about $200 to convert over to LPG (new regulator, connections, labor etc.) Other than that, so far so good and I’m really happy with it. Also very good service at Dandenong.
starvision Serius b leaks – Very low quality product , Purchased a model then dealer suggested to upgrade to a " better one" for a little price difference. well it s been a big mistake. The "better one" supposed to be top of the range. looks like was already been modified or used to suit other customers. [Content Removed] Everything is made from low quality material,… Read more
from the steel that rusts to the suspension and frame. Tent leakes into sleeping area and lounge Cupling had to be replaced as does not pass blue slip in nsw. reason from mechanic" does not comply" Leakes into electric section as pull down door was not assembled properly. sliders and pull out kitchen had crooked runners so was sliding doing big noise and scratching the side of kitchen box , i had to fix it rescrewing runners in correct position (level) Most of aluminium angles that cover angles and corners have been cut but not filed so very dangerous walking barefoot in and out the trailer ( my nephew badly cut his foot with one of them entering the trailer) I had to take them off and file them to be safe putting a rubber strip over the .
After few months trailer have been stolen from outside my house , after calling multiple times the dealer they answered , they didn't t seem very surprised.
Overall not a good trailer
How good is my camper – So far so good. Seems to be good value for money. Easy to set up. Tows well. Better value than I had expected. The lighting was fantastic. Great sales and aftersales service. Show details
NOT an off-road camper trailer – This camper trailer is sold as an “off-road” camper trailer which it is NOT. We took this camper trailer to Cape York and the list of issues are endless. *Leaked water into main camper/sleeping area, kitchen slide and battery compartment *Dust leaked into EVERY compartment, toolbox, kitchen slide and battery compartment * When driving water… Read more
leaked into main sleeping area from the lid as the c section angle hadn’t been sealed around
* Kitchen slide - hinges broke on the stainless steel fold out sections
* The tighenting lugs extendable poles that hold up the tent stopped tightening, we had to drill through the poles and insert an piece of metal to hold them up
* The annex canvas leaks at the seams
*Broken shockie
* “Fridge slide” in toolbox (which doesn’t fit either of our fridges) the slides bent and the whole slide had to be removed
* Water button malfunctions, sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t, sometimes gets stuck on
* Gas bottle holder broke
This all happened within the first 8 months of owning the camper trailer.
This camper trailer would be fine for people that go camping every now and then and stick to bitumen roads or very limited amount of unsealed roads.
The positives
* very easy to set up the main tent area, can be unhooked and tent up in 10-15minutes
* the main tent area canvas is quite good, doesn’t leak and is sturdy in strong winds
Some areas where the design could be improved
* A water metre so you know how much is left in the water tank
* 12v points internally and externally
* Poles that attach to main tent poles for the annex have clips so that can’t unhook
Service of company is also lacking. Often told that we would need to bring the camper to Victoria to have the issues fixed, not very helpful when you are at the other end of the country. Also often given “quick fixes” which doesn’t actually resolve the issue, try this or try that, rather than actually sending it to someone to fix all issue properly. Took a long time to get any help to resolving the issues when contacted, they did not seem to care.
