2 years old low compression
2017 Stihl HS 46 c. Bought it in late 2017 used it 5 times in Phoenix AZ. 2018 late wouldn’t start, took it to True Value, a STIHL dealer and repair. Diagnosis 2019 low compression 80, was told it would be cheaper to buy a new. Not happy, thought I paid all that money for the best. Getting 5 uses out of it, is not quality.
Purchased in May 2017.

Good bit of gardening kit
Cuts well, is reasonably light, good fuel usage and starts easy. haven't had any dramas with it. Have used it on light hedges as well as large overgrown bushes with reasonably thick branches. Can definitely recommend buying the sap remover/lubricant for it as well though, quick squirt after each use keeps it clean and smooth

Cuts like a hot knife through butter!
Super light, agile, engine runs upside down. Could not be happier. Also great service from the shop. It is on the expensive side but this is one of those products where you really do get what you pay for. After struggling for years with a Ryobi electric unit I am left wondering why I did not buy the Stihl earlier. Highly recommend.

I am looking to purchase a Stihl HS 46C hedger. How does it compare to the HS 46C E in performance? I have read that the HS 46C have been discontinued, is there a reason to be wary of this model?
