Pretty colours, but a pig with lipstick – I bought 2 of these for 2 homes with matching 4 slice toasters, the latter are great. Nice looking units in matt colours. Unfortunately, kettle experience is disappointing. Number 1 still working fine after 3 years, although faux chrome trim peeling off. Number 2 had a power failure soon after 12 month warranty expired and was discarded. I contacted Sunbeam customer service but just got lip service. Show details

18 months old and coating is peeling off – EDIT May 2023 - complained to Fair Trading and now I have a new kettle despite Sunbeam claiming nothing could be done. Amazing what official complaints can do. I bought the kettle in July 2021 for $89. It works fine, slightly louder than other kettles but it boils water. and is peeling off. Given the cost of the kettle I think this quality is unreasonable.
Emailed Sunbeam about the issue and they have declined to repair, replace or refund the kettle stating that it’s outside the 12month warranty period. However, any reasonable person would expect a kettle at this price point to last, free from defects, for longer than 18months. They reply quite quickly to enquiries but mostly with generic, pre scripted responses.
My suggestion is buy a cheaper kettle - it will boil water just as well, come with the same 12month warranty and at least you won't be out of pocket $90 for something that is not built to last a reasonable time.

Great looking kettle but that is all – Beautiful looking kettle but SO LOUD! I am devastated to have spent $100 on a kettle that is loud and takes awhile to boil. :( Do not buy if you have a baby. Or a 4 year old who will complain they can’t hear the TV. Wish I could have trialled before buying. Show details
Love the look but handle is cracking? – Love the look of the kettle in white! The matte finish makes it look luxurious without the price tag. Boils water quick, pretty light to lift, big opening at the top. However after a few days pretty nasty cracks started to develop at the top of the handle!
