crumbs. Both toasters were out of 12 month warranty, however, the coincidence that the same issue had occurred twice with the same product resulted in raising the issue with Sunbeam directly. With the first toaster I accepted it was broken, which required a set replacement as Sunbeam discontinued this model, but was unhappy the second time round. Despite multiple emails to Sunbeam (including proof of purchase, photos and video), they refused to assess the toaster because it was beyond the 12 months which was unreasonable as it clearly a product issue - separate to a warranty issue. Sunbeam refused to replace or refund. The product was returned to Myer to share with their Sunbeam representative - unsure why this product is even on the shelves to sell to customers! Sunbeam toasters do not last beyond 12 months when you invert them to gently remove crumb which cannot be extracted from the bottom trays. Sunbeam toasters are a crap product and particularly expensive when purchased as a set (which they also delete) they are hoping you will repurchase just like we did. Invest in a different brand!
Follow-up · Sunbeam Customer Service blankly refused to address this problem because the toaster was out of warranty. They could not make the distinction that it a manufacturing issue which I pushed because this was the second time the same issue occurred twice with the toaster. Good looking toaster, works reasonably but takes a long time to toast. Different setting don't make much difference. The matte black surface is very easily scratched so after 12 months it looks like a ten year old toaster. Show details

Worst toaster I’ve owned – This is the worst toaster I’ve ever owned. It looks good & it gives the appearance that it’s deep and easy to fit all types of bread into it - regular sliced bread doesn’t even fit in it properly! The bread sticks out the top and you need to turn it over and re-toast it, so you don’t have cold, soggy bread. Show details

may vary on different settings but it's difficult to confirm if that's the case. Crumpet setting appears to do actually nothing and crumpets come out overdone on one side and underdone on the other side just as if the 'White' setting was selected.

Toaster disappointment – Bought this toaster as it supposedly toasts crumpets. To say I'm disappointed is to be kind. There appears to be no difference in the heating/ cooking level, to have the top of the crumpet slightly edible, renders the bottom a burnt blackened offering. Great for big families – We had to replace our two slice for a four slice given our large family. After looking at all the reviews we settled on the sunbeam. It has great controls to be able to toast to everyone’s different preferences. I love that there’s so many options to get the perfect toast. burns it. My 2nd replacement also had a tiny chip on it, tiny it was, but still not perfect. My family put in so I could get a "better" toaster and jug for my Birthday but my $15 KMart toaster was set and forget. There are no issues with the jug. It's so disappointing how far this iconic Australian brand has fallen.

Too light – I recently bought this toaster thinking that Sunbeam is a good brand. It does not toast the bread dark enough. is toaster to a darker level than the other. Although your instruction booklet does warn that the white enamel surface can be damaged easily I would have expected it to be tougher that it is considering that this is a well used kitchen appliance. I am very disappointed with the appliance overall and would not recommend that anyone purchase it.

setting it bearly gives the toast any colour resulting in resetting the toaster and now having to monitor it or it will burn it to a cinder , both sides of the toaster can be set at the same setting but will pop up at different times , lastly this toaster will not recess low enough to take large slice bread leaving the top inch or so untoasted . not happy jan.

Doesn't heat evenly – I couldn't put a photo in the Q&A so had to do it in the review section. My elements are not heating up evenly, have a dead spot on the outer sections. dead spot in their toasters. I believe Sunbeam may have a manufacturing issue where a batch of these has been wired up wrong and it is staying in "Crumpet" mode, cause when I actually select Crumpet there is no change in the heating elements.
Great looking toaster , but need to cycle twice to get your toast right – Order this toaster after reading a couple of reviews . Has lots of great features , such as choose your bread type , lift and look , illuminated display to see the progress of the toasting . Definitely the best toaster we've ever owned! – I've been using this toaster every morning with different types of bread, my husband likes White bread and I have Grain. It's amazing how the different types of bread toast evenly on both sides at the same time. I always had this struggle with my old toasters. I am very happy and satisfied! I highly recommend it! Awesome features – This toaster not only looks super stylish with the matt black finish but is very practical.
