I brought home the Sunbeam TAM5003SS toaster today and it will be coming back to the store with me tomorrow! It really doesn't deserve a star at all. I tested it at lunchtime. What a huge disappointment. Unpacking the toaster was the best part! I found the length of the slots is slightly shorter than my previous two Sunbeam Toasters NOT longer, so… Read more

my normal two slices of bread would not fit side by side. I tried it with just one piece of bread. The bread isn't square so it went in on its side first. It almost hit me in the face when it leapt from the toaster. One side was a rich good brown, the other was sooo light and the bread had become thin. I didn't give up and turned the next piece of bread standing up. Same result but the top two centimeters were totally uncooked. I decided Sunbeam has gone backwards in quality. I was trying to just replace my previous Sunbeam but it's been discontinued. It went out with a bang yesterday and took out the circuit breaker. It had a good run though. I'm hoping Breville has a really good quality toaster. I have several of their products and they really work well. Good luck if you're in the market for a Sunbeam Toaster! Dianne.

Arise Toaster – Looks great with its stainless steel finish but doesn't toast evenly and when it pops up you have to catch the toast as it really does pop out.

Good toaster at this price point – 4 slice toaster that looks good on the benchtop with its smart brushed stainless steel finish. Its a 4 slice toaster but that is if you use std. size sandwich loaf - if you toast pasta dura high tin type bread you have to put them in vertically if you toast 4 slices at a time and manually turn them but still works ok. The toaster has a digital… Read more ·  1

timer readout (which is handy) and a slide bar to increase or decrease toast time - it doesn't take long to work out what the toast will come out like against which timer setting. The controls actually work and the timers work well enough. You can lift the bread during to the toast cycle to check it or turn it to even out the toasting - the toast comes out with one side darker than the other, even though one side is lighter it is still "toasted" and when the timer cycle is finished it lifts the toast fairly heavily to the point where with a single slice in the toaster it will often throw it onto the benchtop.

The crumb tray in the bottom is very handy and works well. All in all, for the money paid for this toaster, it does the job.

It has a crumpet setting on the timer / slide scale but no indicator on the top of the toaster to show which way to put the crumpet into the toaster but its easy enough to lift the crumpet during the cycle to turn it, without burning yourself as the top of the toaster and the outside get very hot (not unlike a lot of toasters)

All in all a good toaster for the price, looks the part on the benchtop and does the job pretty well.

PROS: - digital timer and readout very good - Easy to use slide bar for heat and toast settings (time based, increments or decrements the time) - Stainless steel finish is nice - Crumb tray to the front of the toaster is good

CONS: - Doesn't toast evenly (darker on one side) unless you turn the toast around in the slots - "Throws" the toast out of the toaster if single slice (powerful spring action) - Can get quite hot on the outside of the toaster (just need to be aware, all get hot to some degree)

Toaster evolution works! – So good! This toaster fixes all but one past complaint about toasters. Genius! 1. Lift actual works without burning fingers 2. Incremental digital toasting levels 3. Crumpet setting Minor suggestions to imprive 1. Mark crumpets face in or out? 2. Up the power a bit to toast faster Show reply

Great, slick looking toaster – Got this toaster as a set with the matching kettle and looks great aesthetically on my kitchen bench. Really love how it lights up when turning it on/in use. The stainless steel surface also makes it easy to clean and I like how it comes with a crumb tray at the bottom. The different browning settings work ok, although I rarely ever change it. Overall, it works well as any standard toaster and am super please with it. Does the job! Show details ·  1

I love my new set! – My new Sunbeam kettle and toaster have added a great touch of style to my kitchen! The brushed stainless steel finish looks very elegant. Besides looking so pretty, the kettle easy push button makes my life really easy. The toaster does a great job toasting the bread evenly, and the countdown timer helps me a lot with my busy morning, so I know… Read more ·  1

how much time I have left between juggling morning tasks. It's the first time I've had a toaster with a long slot and I really like being able to fit long slices of sourdough in it. I highly recommend the set. Great addition to my kitchen!
