My Favourite Kettle Yet! – I bought this kettle from Harvey Norman quite a few years ago, not only because I needed to replace my old stainless steel kettle, but my Uncle was diagnosed with cancer and the specialist said you should never use plastic kettles and that ceramic ones are the best to use. The only real negative thing is that it is quite loud. Nothing has ever… Read more

gone wrong with it and even though it may be heavier than your average kettle, I have had it so long I don't even notice until I use someone elses. It does dribble a bit on my bench when I'm pouring, but only in small cups, if I pour quickly into big cups it doesn't do it. I just wipe the bench, it's only water. I have to agree with the other reviewer, not the best kettle for frail folk.

I love how it looks and of course I love that it is ceramic. It definately draws comments from anyone seeing it for the first time (or lifting it!). The fact I love my kettle as much as I do outweighs any negatives it may have. I would purchase another one straight away should this one break down. I love how it looks and of course I love that it is ceramic. The only real negative thing is that it is quite loud.

Best boiled water for tea – My aunt gave me this kettle as a housewarming gift more than three years ago. It boils water quickly and retains hot water for half an hour after boiling and warm water for up to an hour. The ceramic interior is perfect for boiling water for tea, unlike other kettles where the metal or plastic affects the flavour of the water. I have had no… Read more

issues with dribbling unlike the other reviewers above and I write this review in defence of this item on that point. I suspect the weight of the kettle may contribute to dribbling incidents: if you don't lift the kettle high enough to pour, and the kettle is full, it is very easy to spill water.

(Also, all the 'pros' saying it looks good I find very weird as I think it's kind of ugly.)

I would definitely buy this product if mine ever died. Ceramic interior produces better hot water and retains heat for longer than metal or plastic Heavy! Be warned: not for the weak of arm

We bought this kettle, BUT – Great looking product, different to all the others on the market Disapointed with dribbling though. Sunbeam have been in the business long enough to know what happens when you pour from a rouded spout. Great looking, different to all the others on the market, functions OK, not excessively noisy Dribbling when pouring

Terrible – Never again will I forgo functionality for appearances with something I use as often as my kettle. I can't believe Sunbeam didn't find these problems in their testing. As far as purchasing a new kettle goes ... never again Sunbeam. Looks gorgeous. I cannot believe this kettle won a design award!! It splurts all over the bench and floor when… Read more

pouring and is so heavy. We got ours as a wedding present last year and it has started shorting out (turning itself off before it boils and then spontaneously turning itself back on again 20 minutes later)

Bad – Overall, I think that this kettle is the most beautiful thing on the kettle market, but in terms of function it fails. It dribbles and it has a really small water boiling capacity. I'm only giving it two stars instead of one because I like the creative design. Oh the love affair I had with the Sunbeam Ceramic Kettles...so cute, so unique, so… Read more

stylish...and then I bought one and our affair abruptly ended It's like a spluttering old fool (a good looking one at that) and leaks all over the place burning kids, fingers, benches - whatever is in it's way. I can't believe just how poorly this kettle actually functions!

Good – I love my kettle and would buy it again, but definitely didn't expect the little faulty things such as the *ding* malfunction, and the little rust patches in such an otherwise very high quality kettle. I keep meaning to take mine back to get replaced because of these niggles, but it's hard when you need it everyday (I threw my old kettle out) and… Read more

they will probably send it away to be checked before they replace it!

I hope they iron out all these little problems, and continue to make them as these kettle are sooo much better than plastic, and much more stylish than stainless steel!! I love the look of it, and that it has no plastic parts (not even a plastic window, which is great). It is very heavy, but I can cope with that...

It doesn't *ding* when it has finished boiling... it will switch off fine, but the *ding* can come up to 20 mins later which is hilarious when sitting in a quiet room, and your coffee is finished!!

There appear to be little rust patches forming on the edge of the bottom metal plate inside the kettle.

OK – So far, I haven't had any problems with the dribbling or exploding that other people have described in their reviews, the only problem I've had with it is that it is that it's really really heavy! It should come with a warning label "you must be THIS strong to use this kettle". Not recommended for weak little old ladies. It's a beautiful kettle… Read more

tho, and one of the first things everyone comments on when they walk into the kitchen. Upper-body strength building design, pretty kettle, retains heat longer, easy to remove lids, no coils in the bottom makes for easier cleaning It's heavy!!!!

Terrible – This was a tragedy. I had wanted this kettle for 8 months and then mine finally blew up. I was devastated to find that it leaked water all over the bench when being poured. Very stylish, by far the BEST looking kettle I had ever see. Cord and base design very neat. Poor thing needed a bib, it dribbles dreadfully. Absolutely no use as a kettle at all.

OK – We are using it for another week to see if the rubbery smell goes off or not. We may refund the item. Looks very good in the kitchen. Electric coil is long enough, compared to a similar S/S kettle. 1. Heavy 2. Rubbery smell in the water. Caused by the rubber seals in the base and kettle cover

Bad – I'm returning mine and am likely to chosse a different kettle, even though I really like the overall look of this kettle. Disappointed. its stylish design - it offers a different look to stainless steel Two things - the one I bought doesn't turn itslef off after boil. This has to be a malfunction. Also, there's shoddy glue work between the base… Read more

of the kettle (not the part that plugs into the wall)and the ceramic body itself. You can see the glue and it just doesn't look good.
