Design Fault - Leaking bottom – This was a great looking kettle for the first few years however, sadly like others have said it is now leaking from the join at the bottom which is definitely a design fault and should be changed. Albeit dangerous too, with the electric base. Sad that these products only last a few years now, adding to our increasing landfill issues. Will not purchase this again.

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $70.

Sunbeam - poor quality is repeated a year apart – I purchased a replacement kettle after the previous 2 failed in last 4 years making third that has failed with leaking from middle under the bottom. The latest has failed and leaks water and has a smell of electrical burning after 5 uses. Sunbeam has a proud history as an Australian home appliance brand but unfortunately outsourced production to China and the quality is poor for an item with recommended retail price of $99. I am waiting to see what the customer services do about this for me, I have two failed kettles to supply so they can work to rectify the product faults.

Purchased in at eBay for $59.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your feedback, I have passed on your important and constructive comments onto the team.

I also want to assure you that Sunbeam Australia's choice to move production to China had absolutely no negative impact on product quality and only allowed us to keep product pricing low for your benefit.

I can see that you are aware that all our products do have a 12 month replacement warranty so please just return the unit to your retailer.

Only lasted 2 years! – This kettle was supposedly top of the range at Good Guys but after two years it has water pouring out of its underside. Good Guys tell me the warranty is only for one year. Surely a $70 kettle should last longer than a year. Very disappointed, won’t buy Sunbeam again.

Expensive doesn't mean better – Very disappointed with Sunbeam Kettle, stopped working after less than 2 years of purchasing it. It would be used average once per day which is not much for a kettle. Thankfully I still had my Breville kettle bought from Target for $25, it is 5 years old!! never misses a beat.
