Silent but died 2 years later – This kettle looks good and mine was super quiet. I had no issues until 2 years later it short circuited the power in my apartment and died. Talk about going out with a bang. I'm not a tea and coffee drinker so it was barely used during it's short life, I'd not recommend this product.

Leaks and not the least bit quiet as adveretised – Had this kettle 16 months. Has always been noisy despite regular descaling. Has now sprung leak. The main reason for buying was it was supposed to be the most quiet of all. False advertising! Not happy at all. Have contacted Sumbeam and awaiting response.

This kettle leaks – I bought this kettle over a year ago only to return it after many months because it had started to leak. It was replaced under warranty but the new kettle has developed the same fault. I was told by the retailer that I couldn't return the product a second time so I'm now stuck with it. It is also noisy.

Kettle taints water – Our new kettle quickly began to produce terrible tasting water. Initially I thought there must have been something wrong with our tea or milk, but no it is actully the kettle. The more we have tried to use the kettle the worse the terrible taste has become. Even the steam from the boiling kettle now smells toxic. Have phoned Sunbeam but they… Read more

were not really interested that their product may have a fault.

We are returning the kettle tomorrow.

PS I would not really agree with the quiet boil claims either. looks nice kettle makes the water taste terrible

Looks good, quiet no.Strong plastic smell – Purchased this when my old Sunbeam stainless steel kettle leaked after many years of faithfull service. Liked the design however would not agree with the quiet boil claims. The main problem is that after 2 months the kettle still smells strongly of plastic inside and the boiled water tastes of plastic, particularly when left to cool. The design… Read more

and fast boil The boiled water still tasting and smelling of plastic after more than two months. Not quiet boil as advertised

It boils. Loudly – We had a cheap no name brand kettle which we thought was quite noisy in the office, so the boss purchased one of these to replace it. What a mistake.... its noisier and takes just as long to boil. Sunbeam need to take this product back through the QA process and re-label it. It boils water. Looks purdier than a red wagon going up a hill in the… Read more

sunset. Noisier than the red wagon going up the hill in the sunset. The red wagon will hit boiling point trying to get up the hill in the sunset before this kettle does.

Silentio Kettle is not quiet boil as claimed – We purchased a Sunbeam Silentio Quiet Boil to replace a Russel Hobbs Whisper kettle which, after 2 years, is no longer quiet. The new Silentio is much noisier than our old Russel Hobbs Whisper, and is definitely not a quite boil kettle. So much for the new technology. Because the kettle did not perform as specified (ie a quiet boil) we returned… Read more

the kettle and received a full refund. Someone has suggested we should descale our Whisper which we have now done with white vinegar, and once again it is a quiet boil kettle. Nice attractive lines, bright stainless steel finish, easy opening lid, boils quickly It is very noisy when boiling water and did not live up to the claim of quite boil technology.

Our One is Quiet! – Our Silentio is definitely quiet - far quieter than the Russell Hobbs Salsa 3064BSS we have had for the last 10 years Can't review the Silentio properly yet as we bought it only yesterlay, but it fills easily, boils quickly, pours well and looks good. I think it has been on the market for some years which suggests it has been a successful product.… Read more ·  2

Ease of Use. Quietness. Very good spout. Quick boil. Mostly stylish but see Cons. Lid but opens only halfway with button. If you want to open it wide you have to use other hand. Still it is easy enough to fill via the spout section. Stylish from the bottom up until you get to the top edge - designer's inspiration seems to have gone AWOL at this point.

Misleading Name – I bought the Silentio after owning a Sunbeam Alur Peace&Quiet which leaked. I wanted a quiet kettle and the Silentio packaging makes a big deal about its quietness. But it is no quieter than the cheap Target plastic kettle we have, for which you have to turn up the TV to hear what is being said while it boils. Thus, the Silentio is anything but… Read more

quiet, let alone silent. I returned the kettle a couple of days after buying it, for a full refund. I have bought another Sunbeam Alur Peace&Quiet kettle because I like the design, it is quick and quiet, and I just hope it does not start leaking like the previous one and most of the other reviewers have found, i.e. I hope I got a good one. The style and the promise of a quiet kettle It was noisy
