Points of disasterous usage – Bought this at a reduced price from Catch.com.au, and it looks very stylish with the black and the gold trim. Meh, that's about as much of the positive I can say! First of all, it is VERY noisy! We have trouble carrying on a conversation near it. Secondly, The on/off switch has a white LED in it which lights up as if it were to light the MCG at night! No sneaky cuppa late at night if you have people sleeping! Thirdly, the little filter inside the spout fell out one day, no biggie just snap back in, right? WRONG! Took ages to fiddle and turn it and finally it went back into place. Sheesh. Fourthly, and this IS a biggie, and a safety issue. it gets SUPER HOT! Be warned!!! I have burned myself several times forgetting that. My previous kettle was a thicker plastic and it would be warm to hot but not dangerously so. I am serious about this. It is very easy to grab a kettle by the body to go fill up, many people do that, if someone else used it and you weren't aware, YOU WILL BURN your hands! My previous kettle I would touch to see if it were still warm to hot to use the water my friend had boiled for my own cuppa. Ain't doing that no more, well, yeah, making a cuppa with the heated water but not the touching part! So if you wear gloves like in [Content Removed] and are [Contents Removed], it's great! Joke. Seriously: Don't buy it.
Don't buy it – We bought this kettle with its matching toaster in 2021. After using it for a few yrs here are my thoughts: The good: - It boils water... -It is white and matches the toaster (which I have also done a review for and doesn't review well) -It has the anti boil dry feature Things that need addressing asap! - The overall kettle gets burn level hot (the outsides) - The lid spills water (boiling) if you tip it up too far!- Starts spilling from about 2/3 empty - The spout is not pointed enough which means the output is a very wide and uneven. Its never once in 3 yrs been a nice long clean poor and is messy and risks burns. One has to be extremely careful when using it. - The cord on the base is definitely not long enough. - It takes a very long time to boil. Like a very long time. - Its loud - Its expensive for such a poor quality item.

Disappointed – I bought a black Chic Collection kettle 15 months ago. For 6 months or so, it looked smart in my kitchen. Now the black surface is scratched and the silver section is flaking off. I haven't treated it harshly and, for the first time in my life, I'm disappointed in a Sunbeam product. Am I the only person who's complained about this?
