Hi, I've bought this sunbeam steamer from my neighbour. But it stopped working all of sudden after few months usage. What were the problems might cause it? The base never had contact with water. TIA

I just brought the ST6820 model at a garage sale. I mentioned to the lady holding the garage sale I was looking for a food dehydrator and the lady said this would do it. It appears to be more of a food steamer. Has anyone used this to dehydrate food?

Hi Nicole, Unfortunately KD006 is correct, this unit is only a steamer and will not dry out foods. If you are interested in purchasing a food dehydrator, please have a look at our website external link as we have 2 great units on range.

One of the reviewers state this model isn't BPA-free but the Sunbeam website says it is. Can anyone clarify? Maybe from a user manual or something?

Hi, we asked Sunbeam and stated that the plastic is BPA free. Hope that helps. We are very pleased with ours.
Hi there, we were led to believe the trays are BPA free which we answered before, but this is the actual answer we got from Sinbeam after checking again. "Dear Customer Thank you for contacting Sunbeam.
The trays on the ST6820 are not BPA free so in regards of cleaning this product using a damp clothes and wiping down the areas is the best advice and not to place in a dishwasher.
