Customer care a disgrace. Not happy – Did my best to be a customer. Called their main number. 1800 227 200 Lights on no-one home. After many years we are about to change our liquid laundry soap so I thought I would ask Surf if their soap was made from imported products or 100% Australian. Our phone call was shunted to an overseas operator who could not care less. Very sad. Waited and waited so we gave up.

Causes rashes in some people – I used this product for the first time this week and have broken out in a serious rash all over my body where my clothes touch. I haven't been able to sit still or sleep because it is so itchy. I have never had a reaction like this to anything. Don't risk your skin and don't try this product Show details

Excellent in top loader – I have previously left a negative review for Surf on this site - when I had a front loader washing machine. My main gripe was that it left a concrete-hard residue in the dispenser that I could not remove. I haven't used Surf since. Husband did the grocery shop the other week and came home with Surf washing powder, pleased with his thriftiness.… Read more

Obviously I castigated him for getting the wrong thing, but then decided I would try it again since we have now gone back to a top loader.

Well, it works just as well as any high end detergent in a top loader. Lovely scent, not too overpowering, is left on the clothes. The scent is a bit strong if you sniff the box but post-wash is much better. I do note that I get better results with heavier stains when I throw in a cap of Aldi's in-wash booster as well. But for the price, I can live with that. Bonus - my towels feel softer than usual, and I'm fussy about having soft towels. Woolworths offer a bigger range of Surf in different scents than Coles.

In summary... don't have to wait for it come on special because it's always reasonably priced, smells nice, easily available, it works, softer towels, nobody's skin is upset. I've bought a second box. Thumbs up. Husband can keep grocery shopping with my blessing.

It leaves clumps of washing powder in the machine – Every wash there are clumps of solidified unused washing powder in the detergent drawer of the machine - hopeless and a waste of money! This has never happened with other washing powders

Surf - Pretty in Pink - Tropical Tiger Lily (Powder) – Similar experience to Coby (see review posted Apr 28,2017). We bought a 5Kg box (powder) recently and my skin has badly reacted to this product. It has caused severe skin irritations & itching whenever in contact to the clothes washed in this product. All my family members however are unaffected. I've never had any skin irritations caused from… Read more

laundry powder before, but will not use this product any more due to the severe skin irritation it has caused me. I suggest those who may have sensitive skin please avoid using this product!

Horrid stuff! – We purchased this randomly a few weeks ago, and since then i have broken out in absolutely terrible hives wherever my clothing and bedding has touched. Have never, ever had a bad reaction to any washing powders before so i didn't click to this straight away until yesterday, hadn't had a problem all day, got home and did the bedding washing… Read more

(sheets, doona covers, pillow cases and flat sheets), changed the beds, climbed into bed and 5 minutes after i had pulled the doona up over me, it suddenly felt like i had fire ants crawling all over me. Burning, itching and red hot skin.

I layed on the couch with a spare doona that hadn't been washed in Surf and after 15 minutes, the itching and burning stopped and i slept like a baby. Put my work clothes on this morning that HAD been washed the night before in Surf, boom, i flared up again. Had to rewash my work clothes and tumble dry before work.

If you have sensitive skin, steer clear!!

If not, it has a pleasant scent and if you stick to very small scoops (we have a front loader), it cleans well enough. But due to the intense skin reaction it caused, i won't be buying ti again personally.

Good performance pleasant fragrance – I really liked this washing powder - I was impressed but it didn't blow me away but then again it is just washing powder. I found the fragrance to be lovely and not as overpowering on the clothes as it smells from the box. It is fantastic for everything especially towels, linens etc. Gives & good solid clean and is great value. I will purchase again and would recommend to friends and family.

Just a bit below average – I used to buy surf washing liquids from the coles or Woolworths Surf washing liquids aren't as good as surf washing powder / the powder does a pretty good job / I totally recommend to use this product on towels as it does the job especially the surf washing liquids and it's cheaper / it's great to wash towels as towels don't absorb the liquids through the fibre weaves

tropical breeze – I been using surf many years (30). The Tropical Breeze powder cleans the clothes well but has an overpowering fragrance that can be suffocating. The powder is priced appropriately and includes a good range of size. The powder is always available in the supermarket. Good quality scoop that is easily to reuse in other locations - camping. clean… Read more

clothes, one box last a good amount of time fragrance is very over powering, fragrance lingers on clothes and linen

Gets the job done – So I just recently became a fan of surf. Both me and my husband works at a fast food place. the scent is great. Occasionally, it doesn't get some stains off which is like 1/10 chances. It's cheap comparing its price to Tide or gain for its amount, and I usually buys it at target on sale 9.99 for the 144 loads. I'm still using it because of our… Read more ·  1

budget but its not so bad. yes it dissolves both in hot and cold water. Never left me any stains, it just doesn't lifts all the stains 10% of the time. The scent and price 1/10 times its not clean.

Excellent – The new range of surf laundry detergents are beautiful and perfect for cold water washing. They come in beautiful little containers which don't take up much space in your laundry cupboard! They are inexpensive to buy when on sale and I would highly recommend them! The smell is so fresh and beautiful and stays on your clothes for days, washes… Read more

Good – It does a good job cleaning the clothes and I use this and the other fragrances for everything especially towels. I cannot stand using it for washing placemats, tea towels, napkins, oven mitts or dishcloths though as the fragrance stays on them and often somehow tranfers into the food. As a result I have to use two washing liquids so am thinking… Read more

of switching to the other less frangranced liquid all together. Smells beautiful, makes your whole linen press smell amazing and floral fresh. Very strong fragrance not good for washing kitchen linen - no one wants a muffin coming out tasting floral because the tea towel you cooled them on was so strongly fragranced.

OK – This is a good detergent, and I usually use only about 75% of the standard measurement anyway, and I add water for the rest because otherwise, I find them too strong. I like to think that because its Surf, its a trusted make and hopefully will do some good cleaning. This one smells really flowery and is great to use on cold water. I dont buy it… Read more

regularly because there wasnt anything too impressive about it. This would be nice to use for sheets or towels, anything that you want to smell nice and flowery. I found the smell way too strong, so I dont buy this one regularly.

You wont find a better value Laundry Detergent anywhere! – Well I just discovered that I only need half the recommended dosage of Surf for my 5kg washing machine. Now that the every day price has dropped to just $3.50 per 1kg (Coles, BiLo and Woolworths) that makes for a very economical 8c per wash! That's cheaper than any other name or home brand laundry powder or liquid (including Aldi). The results… Read more

seem to be pretty good. Washed items are clean and fairly soft and there is only a tiny hint of any fragrance.

Note when comparing the cost of washing powders you need to check how many standard washes you get per 1kg pack. Surf is 22. Fab is 21 and Duo is only 19. So if all 3 products cost the same, then Surf easily works out the cheapest per wash!!!

Surf also dissolves very quickly and easily in hot or cold water. There are no traces of any undissolved fillers.

In comparison, Fab Laundry powder is very difficult to dissolve and sometimes leaves traces of undissolved powder in your washing which can cause skin irritations.

So in summary, at today's new every day price of $3.50 per 1kg pack of Surf you wont find better value anywhere! Great everyday price. Dissolves quickly, easily and completely. Light fragerance. Works well. Only 1/2 dose is required for a modern 5kg washer. Cant find bulk packs offering better value. Fragerance could be stronger. Now that price has been reduced to $3.50 for a 1 kg pack its never on special but at that price its the cheapest on the market anyway.
