Brought the mentioned unit 3 months ago and not worth the 1 star experience I have rated it. My dear comrades stay away from any TCL product. They are poor quality and regret going down this brand. New TV and streaming is a nightmare. Issues with picture freezing and navigating back to normal tv mode it just refuses to work. Not my network as I am… Read more
running hard wired internet connection at a network speed of 1000 mbs download.. the fastest in its class. This TV is just junk. Stay away because you will not be satisfied with the TCL Product. I’ll contact customer support again but like my previous experiences it’s a nightmare dealing with them
A Frustrating Experience – After almost 12 months with the 65" TCL C745 I am certain I will not buy another. We don't have a TV antenna but connecting solely via either wi-fi or with an ethernet cable. We are on a 100 / 20 NBN plan so the download speed is more than adequate however whilst much of the time the TV reception is fine there are occasions when for no apparent… Read more
reason the program we are watching will just stop and the TV will return to the home screen. Not only if this frustrating but often when trying to reload the program the TV will just freeze. At that point we will not only have to turn the TV off but have to turn it off at the power, wait for a short time and then turn the power back on, return to the channel, and wait for it to connect.
We bought this TCL as the guy at Good Guys said it had a much better picture than the equivalent Samsung, LG or Sony models and whilst the picture may be good I don't know if it's any better than the others. We do have an older LG TV also running through the internet and it doesn't experience the same issues as the TCL so when we next shop for a TV it will be back to LG, Sony or Samsung brands we have previously had without any problems.
A frustrating experience – We purchased a TCL 65” Ultra HD QLED Google in Nov 2023 to replace an older model LG TV which was a few years old. We watch cable, freeview & apps such as iView & SBS OnDemand. We thought Ultra HD QLED would give a really good picture. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. It wasn’t as good as the old LG and our other TVs. It’s also annoying changing between… Read more
freeview, cable and the apps. When changing, a message comes up saying “Searching for signal . . .” and takes up to 10 seconds to change. Again, our other TVs change immediately as did the old LG so there’s no problem with the signals. There are no digits on the remote control so changing channels is also time consuming with a choice of going up or down one channel at a time (P+ or P-) or pressing the channel button and then using the up, down, left and right buttons to move around the ‘virtual remote control keyboard’. For example, to change from channel 2 to channel 81, you must press the channel button, then, using the virtual remote control keyboard, move the cursor up to the 8 then move the cursor down to the 1 then press another button. On the other TVs, we press 8 then 1 and the channel changes. We do not see any reason for purchasing this very frustrating to use TV. Perhaps the designers of the remote control didn’t believe that purchasers would watch freeview channels or wish to switch
TCL 745 – In the last 40 years of buying TVs the TCL 745 has been the least step forward. My Toshiba was 5+ years old ,getting a bit glitchy, so time to get a new one. I mention this as this is what I'm comparing the TCL to. Firstly till I got the sound bar, it was actually worse sound. Ok so I'm getting old but hearing some things were hard to do, before… Read more
the sound bar. So SB is essential. Using a USB stick to record isn't happening it's ok to pause but not too long or you lose what your trying to see. When watching the footy sports mode does nothing just like my old Toshiba there's a fuzz around the action. No step forward here. We lost TV signal in Troubleshooting there's nothing that fixed it. After ringing service the guy got me to reset the TV. He said may have to do it monthly. On the rare occasion, the colours go out of whack. The reds get overly bright. I play Valheim on XBox. Very disappointed with the TV's performance despite HDMI having a gaming mode. I only bought this TV because a review gave this a the best bang for your buck in the $1350 price range. Sadly this is totally untrue. If I could get my money back I would . I'd just spend up to $2k I should get what I want.
Cheap and Nasty TV – Regretting buying a TCL tv. Originally looking at a smaller better known brand but foolishly decided to buy a bigger tv for less money. First one was replaced within 1 week now on the second tv and it is so slow and glitchy. Service dept are helpful… Read more
but I shouldn’t have to ring them 3 months into a new product. So dissatisfied with this white elephant of a tv.
Follow-up · The TV has actually been performing faultlessly over the past 10 months Haven’t changed anything just seems to be working great now !
Exceptional value – Absolutely brilliant TV. Better than my previous Samsung Q80T in every way (not including inbuilt speakers but I don’t use those). Beautiful colours. Flawless motion engine (Samsung had artefacts regularly during stripes). Game mode is perfect (Samsung was AWFUL looking washed out). Google TV software is so great (Samsung proprietary awful). remote has just the right balance of simplicity and complexity. Looks quite good (base is a little plasticky but I love that it has a centre base instead of feet). Black panel is great with QLED. Amazing smoothness at 120Hz and the motion engine seems incredible at smoothing out normal 60Hz. AirPlay is flawless (again unlikely Samsung). Honestly couldn’t be happier. I can’t fault it. Even the Low Power mode is useful unlike any other tv I’ve owned. I’ve owned it for about 8 months I think.
Terrible – I bought a tv and it stopped working , l contacted tcl and they told me they would help me get a discounted price for a new price since the tv could not work after 4 months , they did not help me wasted 2 months chasing them . The screen is not strong it can be easily damaged. I’m quite disappointed as the tv is not cheap and they are so shifty. Show details
TCL C745 65" excellent TV – I bought this 2023 model for my back room after purchasing the TCL C825 mini LED 65" nearly two years ago. The new one is excellent, even though it's not mini LED & doesn't have the built in sub woofer etc (I have speakers to connect it to) it's great. It has local dimming & is great to watch sport & movies (Dolby Atmos , HDR10+ & IMAX) & a three… Read more
year warranty. I'm very happy with this purchase & recommend it, also remind Appliance Central at Villawood where I purchased both TV'S.
Poor reliability – I bought a TV 3.5 years ago, within this period, the back light konked off. Is a TV that I paid $1500 supposed to last just for 3.5 years ? TCL refused to take any responsibility. I am seeking my rights under ACL Show details
Stunning – Took a punt by purchasing this giant tv from one of the lesser known brands. After two months, I can say I’m delighted. The quantom dot screen is stunning. Vivid pictures, accurate colours. Good sound quality. Very thin bezels, the tv looks great. The Google operating system is smooth. Performance is great, no stuttering when I scroll. Good… Read more
refresh rate. For half the price of equivalent mainstream branded tv’s, the value is undeniable. I honestly cannot think of a single negative. I recommend this tv.
Great improvement – Got this as a gift for someone, had a previous model TCL TV, was running extremely slow. This new model is fast, clear picture and the capability of connecting to the net and your phone, but also having everything at your fingertips/at the tip of your tongue as you can just talk to it. Great work TCL on the improvement and upgrades, keep them coming
Great value for money with excellent picture – I bought this TV for my kid’s room. It has excellent picture (it’s an 4K) and very easy to operate. It came with a 6 months Binge subscription (offered by the store or the manufacturer, I don’t remember….) which I started using it now. The installation on the wall was very easy. The great thing about this TV was that it came with 3 years… Read more
manufacturer warranty. I purchased it with my credit card which provides 1 year additional warranty (subject to terms and conditions). I can see now this TV is on sale as of the time of writing this review (saw on the internet for $888 in Australia ). Based on my research, for this this range of price, this brand is one of the best. If you are after a TV for a second room, kids room etc then I certainly recommend this tv otherwise for a main tv room, I would search for better ones depending on your budget as there might be better options.
Great Value, Brilliant Picture, but not out of the box – Brilliant Picture after I played with the settings, out of the box the picture on most presets were too cool. And Movie was too warm. There is plenty of advice on YouTube. Among other things, I like the colour temp at Warm -3 The central stand was crucial to us. The TV receiver didn't load the EPG in one hit like our Sony X90J does. You have to… Read more
click on each category, eg channel 7, then all the 7's load pretty quickly. I can live with this. It was great that unlike our Sony X90J, you can listen to headphones via Bluetooth and the internal speaker at the same time. Appliances online were the best price with free delivery and great service! The Google TV operating system is awesome. Despite the one store telling me the processing was slower than other brands I have found it to be quite quick, except for the TV EPG and download speeds for updates. However watching online content and switching between apps has been very quick. I quite like the remote. Our purchase price includes the promotional TCL $100 cash back offer during October. I also had the HBBT setting turned on which affected how the EPG button reacted depending on the channel. I was very impressed with TCL's phone support who assisted me to fix the issue. 3 year warranty too!
