Internet connectivity issues (2 years of use) – Had this TV for 2 years and 1 month, the TV worked fine and looked good and for the past 4-5 months had some irregular connectivity issues with wifi which has now turned to very frequently. restarting, unlplugging and resetting the TV settings don't help at all. I have no issues with wifi range, internet speed etc. all has been checked by a… Read more

telecommunications expert. Its poor build quality on a cheap TV that seems to have finally given up. I'm not sure if I'd buy one again. at one stage I was recommending these and now I'm not so sure.

Regret the purchase - Worst customer service. 1 yr no solution under warranty – I would be away from another TCL product. The TV has picture issues, sent them a video of the issue, and even under warranty, customer care has been circling with emails for almost 1 year now. I got a feeling like, they don't care about the TV once sold. Very bad attitude from a big tech company. Show details

Average picture and a horrible OS experience – This TV is cheap and it shows. The picture quality is average, fine if you're not super picky. The OS experience is a nightmare. It lags on nearly everything. Reboots are regularly required to improve performance. Disney+ fails all the time. One shining light is Netflix which can actually run semi OK. OS regularly crashes and then spontaneously loads up Netflix. If the OS would work the TV would probably be a 4 star quality for the price.

Great TV for price range – Great TV for price range. Colour, sound & overall experience is excellent. Comes with all the apps and easy to use remote wirh quick app access. Only small issue is it seems to drop internet connection more than other TVs in the house Show details

be wary of TCL tv's – Bought TV today for my dad and took back 6 hrs later...... would not scan in all channels...rang support and it was too hard.... seller on return was not complimentary either of this brand... I have never had this much trouble setting up cheaper or dearer brands of TV's.

Great android 55" TV – I purchased this TV after talking to one of my friend and I am not disappointed. Had it for nearly half a year now and it has operated well without issue. Fantastic for watching movies and good to watch live sports (could be a little clearer if I was picky) but the operating system works well with fantastic wireless connectivity via Wifi or… Read more

from you phone. Enough HDMI ports for my use. The remote control is the biggest let down, could be laid out better as it is hard to press the correct button if the lights are off in the room. Overall I am happy with this product, purchased at JB Hi-fi for $718

Wouldn’t touch a tcl product warranty department useless rude – Have had trouble with the tcl product (tv) since purchase, screen freezes for a second, colour pales off on the periphery, changing channels for a few seconds screen darkens off - unreadable, tv turns off on occasion, no control on sound bar. Has been over 8 months complaining to their “warranty” department they replaced the motherboard only to… Read more

exacerbate the problems again but worse they give the impression that they don’t care whatsoever. My recommendation is stay away from tcl and do not purchase a tcl product.

TCL Smart TV – Just purchased from Harvey Norman, I found this tv very easy to program and get going, hooked up my iq3 Foxtel box and Blu Ray Player, took only 20 minutes, found the picture very good , the apps easy to download, I would recommend this TV Show details

A very regretful purchase – Without a doubt, this has to be probably the most regretful purchases I've ever made. I wanted the Hisence, but my partner wanted the TCL because of the Android TV. So we settled on the TCL. Let me summarise why I can't stand this TV: -The sound is terrible. Unless you want to use the "voice" or "sports" sound options which sound tinny, you'll… Read more

end up with a sound that sounds something like someone is holding their hands over your ears as you watch TV.

-It.keeps.on.re-formatting.my.hardrive so that it's "unreadable". Imagine that - you wipe your harddrive to format it to the TV's desired format, lose a few things because you thought you'd backed them up, plug it back into the TV and it works, but the next morning it doesn't. So go back on the hamster wheel and repeat the process every day.

-The remote is terrible. Even with tiny fingers I can easily press the wrong button.

-The font size for the settings and TV guide is *tiny*. I can't read anything unless I'm standing a metre away from the TV like a weirdo. But, don't worry, there's NO setting to change that. So just enjoy not seeing anything and play a game of putting hope into your TV that the settings are the best they can be and there's nothing else better to watch if you do choose to watch digital TV.

Biggest waste of money ever.

A step backwards – Compared to the previous model this model is a step backwards. The remote control is a joke, there is no pause or stop button which has been replaced with tacky pay TV commands, the smart TV options are sluggish and sticky when navigating, the medea player plays less types of video files than the previous model. Show details

Half-smart TV —> Full smart (updated) – Overall, the picture quality, sound and response are good. HOWEVER, as a smart TV, you can only use voice command while TV is on. You can ask Google to turn off the TV, but not to turn on the TV. The smart remote app CANNOT turn it on as well. You need the physical remote to turn it on. It’s quite annoying. I would call this half-smart TV. … Read more

Hopefully TCL is willing to update the power on feature in their software update.

Updated: I complained to TCL and they told me that there are a few simple steps that need to be done:

Power cycle the TV. a. Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power point b. Press and hold the power button on the TV for 20 seconds c. Release the power button and plug the TV back in d. Turn on the TV

Make sure that the NETWORK STANDBY is On, you can check it by going to SETTINGS > click NETWORK & INTERNET > turn on NETWORKED STANDBY You need the device to be on standby mode so even if the tv is on standby you can use google assistant to open the TV.

You can also check if there is update available for the apps on the tv on google apps store so the tv is up to date on apps.

————— They should put this in the manual or let the standby function active by default. The most important thing, this TV is a full smart tv now. I’m glad that TCL have an active aftersales service team.

TCL TV – Great TV and quality picture The only negative factor I can point out is that you can’t cast from an iPhone as you can with other TVs additionally I haven’t been able to add the TV to my Google home hub nest. I thought the TV had chrome cast inbuilt however I’m just reading articles that are mentioning I need to purchase a chrome cast Show details

Quite good – Have only had it a few days, however I did need to contact TCL itself for a minor difficulty I was having with internet connection. The operator, JOE, was able to help me with accurate assistance and courtesy. If the TV is as good as his service I will be very happy.  Show details
