COULDNT BE HAPPIER. I've read some reviews saying, stay clear of TCL • To slow •Had nothing but trouble• only lasted 12mths • 4mths in started playing up etc. Well Ive had mine for over 18mths now & Im still as happy with my purchase as the day I got it. Great picture, Great sound, love the voice control etc. For those who said they got rid of… Read more
it because of faults etc, ALL TCL LED/LCD T.V.'s. have a 3YR warranty with in home service for 43" & above. 10/10 from me.
Extremely slow TV when changing channels or apps and also stalls. I end up switching the TV off and on again. Very frustrating, this is the worst TV I have purchased, thinking of giving away, complete waste of money. I don’t recommend this product. Show details
Picture quality is ok, very cheap. Ok for gaming – Tv picture quality is average, has some reasonably good gaming Very good value for money as TV is cheap. So for the budget seems good. No defects found so far after 6 months Show details
Do Not Purchase a TCL Smart TV – This is the worst television I have ever owned. I will NEVER EVER buy another one. It is so slow to do anything, when you click ok, go and make a cup of coffee, then come back and press another option, go and hang the washing out, and so on and so on. By lunch time you might be able to watch what you are looking for. Then it freezes. Terrible, terrible product. My two sons also purchased one and they have the same trouble.
Very slow – This TV is so slow. Picture quality is fine but trying to load up the apps takes forever & it freezes. I thought it might have been my internet but I purchased a Samsung TV & that works fine. I don't recommend as it's very frustrating. Edit to add.. 1 year later. I hate this TV. It is the worst TV ever. Freezes all the time, has to be restarted constantly. Takes forever to load anything. Do not purchase this TV. Reducing my review to 1 star. Show details
Poor TV – Brought TV broke just before the warranty expired and they gave me a replacement set which only came with a 6 month warranty. That set lasted 15 months. TCL cannot build a TV that lasts a reasonable ammount of time. I will avoid this brand from now on. Show details
Very happy with purchase. Quality and price – I got the 75" version of the TCL P745 a few days after Christmas 2023 during the boxing day sales at Betta Home Living. I previously had a 64" Samsung Plasma but was itching to get a larger screen and 4K. I tossed up between the TCL, Hisense and another Samsung and went between the three in the shop for over an hour. I ended up choosing the TCL… Read more
because I liked the vibrancy of the picture and the price was fantastic.
Got it all set up with my Foxtel, Apple TV4k, free-to-air and soundbar. After the usual tweaking with the settings on each input non stop for a few days and watching lots of nice 4K Dolby Vision demo's on Youtube I settled back into my normal TV habits.
In short, I'm delighted with the TCL and really like that it didn't cost the earth. My previous Samsung TV was $3000 so I was worried buying this at such a good price might be a bad move but based on it's features and performance so far it's great.
The way everything works is very nice and the picture gets so bright on all white scenes that I squint sometimes haha.
I feel especially happy that I paid such a good promo price for a brand I haven't used before. I obviously did a huge amount of research before buying and found that TCL is a huge TV maker and had a lot of happy customers. Obviously there are the people who can drop $5k on the latest OLED beauty but my current budget means I have to buy things that make financial sense and well as do the job.
Pros 1. Big bright nice clear picture. 2. Great looking build quality. 3. Google TV built in 4. Chromecast (as part of Google TV) is built in and I can also tell the TV to turn my smart lights and appliances on and off which I only found out after playing around with it. I just say hey google turn off the tall lamp etc. 5. Sensible remote control with no silly air-mouse gimmicky nonsense. 6. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision look excellent on this TV. 7. Very tiny border/frame/bezel. 8. The bang for buck.
Cons 1. The instruction book could give some more detail as to what the picture controls do to save some trial and error. 2. The inbuilt PVR/USB recording is not great but I don't use it anyway as I have the Foxtel IQ4.
I recommend this TV.
Does the job – A good TV for the price, has all the features I needed with good graphics. Show details
Similar to my TCL 55"UHD but BIGGER – In late 2019 I bought a TCL 55" UHD Model # 55P8M and was thrilled to bits. What a fantastic tv. Everything that I dreamed of in a large screen tv, but now we've advanced to the TCL 75" UHD Model # 75P745 series. The 745 is AWESOME. The picture clarity is so good that after I walked into the lounge the following day after setting it up, I asked… Read more
the kids if they had cleaned the windows as I could see the back lawn with the Hyundai sitting there. But in fact it was the TV showing an image of the back yard. The TV is the same size as the window. The specs are brilliant and the price lowered for Black Friday week (late Nov 2023 ) to $995 which was cheaper than my 55" model from 4 years ago. Refresh rate is 120Hz, CMR is 100. Very impressive sound. Excellent value for money unit. Apparently we can use 745 for Facetime video sessions with friends and family members abroad. Yet to try this. Remote is simple and easy to understand and use. We used a fixed tv wall bracket to mount it a metre off the floor and next to a window. Slight delay when starting the tv as it goes through the Android display. Has a 6 star energy rating, 3 HDMI ports and 1x USB Port. Has a 3 year Manufacturers warranty, and Retailers can offer an extended warranty for around $140 with other benefits added. We always plug our smart TV's and other large appliances into a surge protector multi boxes just in case there's a power Power Surge. This will protect the delicate electronics as Surge protectors can absorb and redirect high-voltage spikes... it works kind of like body armour.
Was good until it wasn't – Purchase TV from local Harvey Norman was great TV until 8 months in. 2 white spots/dots on bottom of screen would show if black ground on screen. Our local Harvey Norman and TCL were great and quick to refund Show details
