Technika TGC9IND Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: TGC9INDGreat our builder installed this into our house and I went out and brought induction cookware and just like above it won’t recognise it !!!!!!!!! What do I do NOW Our tenant moves in next week and I have a useless piece of crap sitting in the house . Why haven’t you fixed this issue why do you let this issue keep being a problem Spent money on proper cookware and it ONLY a works in middle element
Hi Carolyn, thank you for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that the cookware isn't working with the induction cooktop. The quickest things to check are that you have a flat surface, a magnet sticks to the bottom and that the surface area does not exceed the allocated area on the burner. If only the middle is working most likely some or all of the above could be happening. Thanks
HI - I'm wondering if there is some guidance here about what pots to use? It seems from the comments that most of the problems related to the unit not recognising cookware. Has Technica provided an adequate list of what should be deemed suitable pots and pans? Have they rectified the issues? I've just bought a 90cm 5 zone hob and if the issues are ongoing, might just take it back Thanks
Taking it back is the best strategy, Marcus. I don't know what's wrong with this cooktop, but it accepts some induction cookware and not others. All the induction cookware I purchased works fine on my Franke unit, and most probably on other brands as well, but the Technika was frustratingly quirky about the cookware it accepted. Murray
If you have the chance to take it back I would. I wish we had gone for a different unit this is just a pain. It is so temperamental, expensive exercise trying to find the exact pots that do work!
Thank Murray, EWJ
Hi Marcus, yes there is I will send this to you. Thanks
Thanks, appreciated
Good morning, Just installed the TGC9INND-5 and really confused why, after buying high quality cookware that the pots don't work on any of the hobs, yet the pans do? Checked with neighbour and the our new pots work fine on their cook top!!! Borrowed one of their pots and still does not work on ours? Found another pot and works on central position but not on the 4 smaller hobs. Do I have problem with: A: the cooktop B: the cookware being used C: the wiring installation was done incorrectly Geoff H.
We have exactly the same issue with ours and were just told to go and buy other cookware. It is disgraceful. We wish we had never installed it. Completely useless
Technika sensors tend to be frustratingly temperamental. And good luck getting decent service from Technika. They SUCK
Hi Geoff, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I will reach out to you directly to get some additional information. Thanks
Technika - can you also send me the list of products that will definitely work on my induction hob. Had a read these comments before buying I would never have gone anywhere near your product, but I have it now, so trying to find which specific brands in the plethora of induction friendly cookware actually work (even though many, many will work on other induction units).
Hi Martin, thank you for reaching out to us. Essentially any stainless steel / cast Iron pans should work (they can be checked with a magnet) and avoid aluminium with the steel inserts. Thanks
Unhelpful when the answer says SHOULD work Well they don’t. They work on your centre element but no others please explain ???? So what are you suppose to do
Hi Carolyn, we have responded to your other post also. Please check you have a flat surface, a magnet sticks to the bottom and that the surface area does not exceed the allocated area on the burner. If only the centre is working most likely some or all of the above could be impacting this. Thanks
Have these issues been rectified and if so when? Thank you pbongio@bigpond.com
No the company had no interest in rectifying. The store I bought it from took pity on me and exchanged for a different brand. They were then taking up the issues
No. No resolution. Crap product. Avoid and buy something else.
