Tefal Performa

Great After Sales Service – These kettles do have problems leaking and thermostat not cutting off, however their short comings are overshadowed by the fact that Tefal support their product, not like others, my first kettle leaked, got a replacement free of charge, that one then failed, the thermostat would not cut out, they sent out another, this kettle has paid for itself over and over. leaks – Bought especially for our hard water and did perform better with less scaling. The filter in spout disintegrated very quickly and then it started leaking through bottom of transparent side displays. Expensive kettle not fit for purpose. Works out cheaper to buy a succession of cheap plastic kettles, which work about 2 years each. DID being the operative word. Everything at first. Spout filter lasted a few months. Kettle then started leaking.
It leaks within 2 years – As with so many previous reviewers, ours made it just short of the 2 year mark before the plastic level indicator windows became brittle and started leaking. Tefal should be ashamed of themselves for using unsuitable materials for this application as it becomes brittle with heat and the seal fails. I would expect an $80 kettle to last more than 2… Read more
years, thanks Tefal for an expensive but inferior product. Quick and quiet Leaks and disposable in less than 2 years
Leaky – As mentioned by others, this kettle leaks from the plastic view windows after about 1 yr of use. It was fine until that point and seemed to be quite a solid build. Also the claim to reduce scale seems a bit spurious as it was very dirty inside as well. Shame really. Good until leak It leaks
Performas well until the leaks start, so it did not last longer – We have had the same experience as others - after about 20 months use the water level windows leaked on both sides. I caulked them with silicon sealant but the leaks persisted. I then found the inner plastic backing plates (which hold the outer windows on) had crumbled and broken, presumably from the constant hot/cold cycling. The risk here is of… Read more
a sudden release of boiling water, which I believe Tefal should look at.
A Tefal repair agency advised that parts were not available, and that repair was uneconomical. We have therefore bought another kettle of a different brand, which we will report on soon. Good looks, ergonomic handle, drip free pouring Deterioration in anchoring of water level windows, with attendant risk of boiling water release
It leaks! – Same thing happened to me as the other reviewers. The kettle started leaking from the view window just after the warranty had expired. this must be a major design flaw. I'll never buy Tefal again.
Leaking – Kettle started to leak as soon as the warranty expired. The leakage happened from the joint between the stainless steel and the plastic component (volume gauge). All in all, it boils water OK, though it makes the loudest noise a kettle can make! nice design, matches most things I have in the kitchen expensive, noisy, bad quality!
Great, until it leaks – Was a great Kettle, then the volume windows started leaking after 20 months. Holds plenty of water, pours very well, looks good and now it leaks good instead. $80 short lasting, made in China Kettle. Made well and durable it seemed. Leaks from volume windows after 20 months
Terrible – after finding black bits from my old sunbeam evo quantum i have absolutely no idea what kettle to get. so i thought i try a tefal and got this one. it's even worse than the sunbeam. i suspect it's the cheap plastic used. gonna get a breville next. i'll review as soon as i get it. didn't really get to see the good part of this kettle black bits as… Read more
soon as you pour water into the kettle. i tried to boil quite a few times thinking it might just get rid of it. guess what? it didn't work.
