Thermos Alfi Gusto Vacuum Insulated Carafe 600ml

Elegant looking, keeps hot water hot – The Alfi is a solid stainless steel carafe that works really, really well to keep my hot water hot - I use a splash to take the chill off drinking water for my sensitive teeth. The 600 ml capacity is all I need, and the carafe looks good and doesn’t take up much space on my kitchen bench. Unlike regular thermal flasks with screw in lids, the carafe has a flip lid that is easy to thumb open to pour, and flops close when released.

The included advice is to fill the carafe with hot or cold tap water to pre-heat or pre-chill to increase the thermal efficiency before pouring your liquid in.

I have only used it for hot, and I boil the kettle, pour a splash of the hot water into the empty carafe, swish it around, pour that out then pour in the hot water. I find that this is enough to keep that water hot for hours. As I empty the carafe over the day, the last bit is warmish about 9-12 hours later depending on how empty the carafe is at the end of the day. Less water = colder.
