Awful tasteless like eating tasteless thin sliced cardboard What has happened to this brand ? Salt and vinegar thee the packet out waste of money won’t purchase again Show details
These are terrible now. Sour cream and onion used to be my favourite but they are so thin you can see through them. They look like they have been soaked in oil and left in the sun to go hard. The flavour also isn't like it used to be. Won't be buying these anymore. Show details
Light and tangy have changed in the last 2 months for the worst. Taste like little bits of cardboard now. They did this a couple of years ago with other flavours trying to make light and healthy. Have been eating these since they come out and will now stop buying them. Go back to make them the original way!

This is the second time we have bought the “light and tangy” chips which didn’t have any flavouring to it….. nothing. Show details
They taste terrible – Salt and vinegar thins chips qre just awful. They taste like chemicals, the salt and vinegar flavour isnt even balances . The chips leave an awful taste. Wont ever buy them again instead i will by smiths crinkle or kettle chips Show details
A bag full of empty promises – Purchased in IGA gippsland (cheese and onion). Stale! Inedible! Will not purchase this brand again anytime soon. Others in my circle have had the same experience. I should not have strayed from Aldi chips, they are always fresh. Show details
Stale – These chips were bought from our local IGA supermarket less than a week ago. I had a packet tonight, they were stale already. This is not the first time this has happened with this product. I won’t be buying it again. Show details
I so disappointed in thins cause they were my favourite chips brand – I recently went shopping and purchased a packet of thins chicken chips, 175g size from Coles at Port Adelaide and discovered there was less than half a packet in the bag. Less than 175g in the bag and since the packet is included on the advertising on the pack so you why can't you eat the pack because your not getting what you pay for. So… Read more
inconclusion there should be more in the packet so your consumption is as advertised or the pack should be edible. And if it is not changed I will not continue to buy your products anymore if this problem cannot be addressed, and I will take by money elsewhere. - Hannah Colangelo 0459256631

loved since i was a kid – i still love this tastie little morself of happiness and tangyness. what better way to enjoy the flavour of a chip than light, which it is, and tangy, which it also is.
Yum – Love the Cheese and onion and the plain salted. Always a good potato taste. Up there with Smiths! From the company that makes French Fries and Cheezels. Just an honest tasty chip.
Awesome – I love these chips. So tasty, full of flavour. Clearly not everyone will not like this type of chip, but I especially love that "tang" of the chip. I like the fact that there are heaps of "specs" on the chip, like if you zoomed in you'd see all these ethereal colours or something like that. I don't really know what I'm talking about here, but I recommend this flavour. Taste Not enough! Show reply

Honestly, its time for a flavour overhaul by the manufacturers, the Salt & Vinegar option are just really lacking any punch in their flavour, its not far off being plain. From all the brands available, Thins Salt & Vinegar are probably the worst you can choose. Time for a flavour overhaul or risk being left behind by all the other better choices........ Show details

Thins have changed and are horrible now. the chips are thick and the taste is so off-putting. I thought it was just one packet but I bought another and realised they've changed. The flavour was never that great, I miss lays so much - lays are 100 times better.
By way of an update, I have received a comprehensive response from Snack Foods Autralia who have confirmed that they are currently sourcing product from New Zealand whilst they are upgrading their Australian production lines. This is likely to occur over the next two months or so. The packaging on the chips will indicate whether they were made in New Zealand or made in Australia

Change should be a good thing This version of a staple tasty snack is a waste of chewing and a disappointing purchase. Surely they reviewed the product with a trial group? Show details
Thins chips have changed, threw out 3 packs , as thought a bad badge but bought a couple of new packs , 1 pack is the same taste awful, not even opening the other pack, can see they are different, they look like pringles, are not thin anymore and taste awful, not wasting money on them again Show details
They have changed, not thin anymore and resemble cardboard. Less taste I bought a packet weeks ago and thought maybe just an error but nope bought more and won’t bother again. They have gone from a really nice chip to gross, I’ll buy home brand over these from now on Show details
A few months ago I noticed the potatoes had been cut too thin resulting in no flavour and a heavy oil taste. I since purchased another 4 or 5 packs from different locations but the same result. No more chances. If the cooking method has changed then I will change to my 2nd favourite Smiths brand. I might revisit in a year or so to check if the manufacturer has changed back to the old recipe.
I used to love Thins but the manufacturer has changed the way they make them. No flavour. Even thinner and very brittle. Go back to the old way. Much better. I won't be eating them anymore. Show details
Light and Tangy used to be my number 1 , now i don't know what they have changed, but for the last few months every time i open a packet of these once mighty chip i have been very disappointed. how could the flavor be so drastically changed. I think its time to change from this brand and head to an alternative
Open pack of chips In variety pack thins chips – I brought a pack of thins chips variety pack for my kids for school and kindy but when I tipped bags into my snack container 1 bag of light and tangy chips were already open. I know its only 1 bag but with the cost of living at the moment this is disappointing. Show details

Good new product ruined by product shrinkage – Thins Chillie chips - Product ‘shrinkage’ This is a new flavour that is interesting, not as good as Kettle but still nice and WAS reasonably priced. BUT my family will not be buying them again, how insulting this product ‘shrank’ from 175 g to 150g. Same look and colour pack, I grabbed them to share with others over drinks only to discover they… Read more
are way too small. The other thins packets are still 175g. Kettle chips are over priced but good quality so we will go back to waiting for them to go on sale, they shrank too bit at least they are still 165g. Very disappointed ex. customer.
Quality is way down – Disgusting quality. In the last year I've spent over $100 on thins salt and vinegar chips and almost all of them have been awful and went straight in the bin. The chips smell old, potatoes look and taste rancid and they taste gross, like the bags have been left open for months. These chips used to be so great, fresh and full of flavour. But the… Read more
last few years it doesn't matter if there full price, on sale or how long the expiry date has to go, they all taste stale, flavourless and disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if they're rebagging gross old stale chips and then resealing them in new packets because that's what it tastes like. Sometimes Im so hungry I eat the gross chips because it's all I bought and I always get sick after. Most of the time they were bought from Safeway but it can be at other stores too. Regardless I just end up putting my money in the bin because Im not able to go all the way back to a store just for a refund. Not sure why Smiths has fallen so far from what they used to provide, I've been eating this exact chip for nearly 30 years and the last few years 9 out of 10 times they are just so awful.
Light and tangy thins – They have destroyed all their chip flavours in the name of profit. Light and tangy were my favourite. I wouldn't touch thins chips if they were free. The reviews here say it all. Price will go up and the quantity will come down Because they are making less profit on this item , But that's because nobody wants the garbage. They have definitely shot… Read more
themselves in the foot with this one, But it's no different than what most companies are doing. Less quality , cheaper ingredients more profit. Nothing else matters to these companies except for profit. Profit Profit, profit.
Weird vinegar/acrid taste in plain salted – The chips themselves were ok (some burnt ones), but I kept coming across chips that made me want to cough and my mouth water. Tasted very vinegar to me, or something similar. Very strange for plain salted chips, and I didn’t enjoy them. Show details
Aggressively salty – Purchased in Feb 23 this pack was definitely faulty. Enough salt to kill a brown dog. Extremely unpleasant taste. Three chips limit. Any more and you'd keel over. Show details
Thins original chips – Purchased a packet from Woolworths- best before 24 Jun 23 106141 04:58 Have been buy for years but this pack is so salty I cannot eat them Show details
Not good on quality control – Purchased 10 packets last year that expired in October,2021. All packets made without seasoning. Inedible. Was refunded for 1 packet ! Show details
The Epitome of Inconsistency – After a fairly long abstention from purchasing THINS Crisps in various flavours - from Plain, Salt & Vinegar, Chicken, etc., it was decided to give it another try. A month ago two 175g packets of Sour Cream & Chives were purchased. The one packet was brilliant but the second packet so-so albeit the batch and dates were identical. Last week Coles… Read more
advertised THINS Crisps at half price. Again, two 175g packets of Sour Cream & Chives flavour (Best Before 22 Oct 22 / Batch no 107153 / 15:26) were purchased. This time there was no mistaking it - the outcome for both packets were outright horrible. These crisps were so bad, they were inedible as it was like trying to eat eggshells they were so hard and dry. Notwithstanding the fact they were tasteless. The best outcome was a subtle but sour aftertaste. Even after chewing, the crisps remained brittle and difficult to swallow. The one thing we found ominous was that every time Woolworths or Coles have a "half price" specials promotion, it's almost a guarantee of a sub-standard quality product. And one wonders if this is not perhaps a tactic used by companies as a way of getting rid of bad batches and recouping some of their losses. One can only speculate. Nevertheless, perhaps, when sales hit rock bottom THINS will finally take cognizance of all the negative reviews on this platform and rectify their painfully obvious quality control problem. For us, it's never again.
