I was considering this the Thermomix as I am sick of burning my cooking. I'd start cooking then got engrossed in work and completely forget about it until something smells burnt. After so many burnt dishes I decided enough is enough. Bought the Tokit instead of TM6 after watching this review online pitting this against the TM6… Read more

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=1Ec_Pd4Feeg. I chosed it because of the flexiblity it allows me (you can skip steps and it will let you proceed without judgment), wider temperature range, and accuracy of the asian dishes I am interested in (Thermomix Cookidoo asian recipes are strange). It also allows me to create my own recipe and save it (you have to use the web browser and go to CooknJoy - the app sucks) but it does work and syncs to the machine. So far I am loving it and would highly recommend it. I made nacho sauce last night and could just let it stew for 4 hours while we went out. I haven't had any issues with mine so I can't testify to customer service responsiveness, but I am hoping since they have representation in Sydney and claim to have great customer service they'd be in compliance with the Australian consumer law.

CAUTION - ELECTRIC SHOCK. I received an electric shock from the mixing bowl of my Tokit Omni Cook. After receiving the shock I notified Tokit of the incident, and sent them videos showing them with my multimeter that the steel mixing bowl was at 126 volts AC (to earth) when plugged in. They requested that because I'm an electrician, I should take… Read more

the device apart and fault find it. I declined this request twice and requested a refund or replacement instead. I am at the point where I'll be filing complaints to consumer authorities soon. I'm completely shocked (pardon the pun) at their response to one of their customers having a dangerous event like this. See Email below.

Love this so much! – Well I'm happy to report that this now has an Australian plug! I ended up buying a premium bundle one for my mum as well, seeing as they sent me a special after my initial purchase, and so we ended up paying $900 and some change for each. I would have been happy paying the $1149, but a saving is a saving. We bought this instead of the 'other… Read more

famous brand' seeing as there are so many reports of 'other famous brand' temps being off, and also 'other famous brand' is a multi level marketing model. Also 'other famous brand' won't let you cook on higher temps in manual mode.

The machine itself is easy to set up. I'm not thrilled by having to connect to the net, would have much rather had pre loaded recipes and done, but so far so good, no issues. Lots of Indian and Asian recipes that we prefer, as well as pastas, lots of western basics, all the things we like to cook. I set up mum's first and we made a pumpkin soup and found it fairly intuitive and easily customisable. Small learning curve, but that's with anything.

The initial volume setting was at 53% and extremely loud, but easy to fix under the settings section. Good that it goes right up for the deaf folks or those working in loud environments, and right down for the rest of us.

So then I've made dosa batter, smoothies, pasta dough, pizza dough, butter chicken and bolognaise sauce. Easy recipes that I can customise to low sodium or any other preference. You can easily increase or decrease the cook times or grind speed and cleaning is a breeze. Use the pre clean function and then a quick wash down and you're done.

Great for mum, as she doesn't need to spend extra time standing as it cooks and blends and sautés etc for you. Plus she needs to be gluten free and there's plenty of those recipes.

Time saver for me as hubby and I have to have very different diets. I'm going to try so many of these recipes!

I'm well pleased so far.

Great upgrade – Made a few meals with the tokit now and it's great! My precious thermocooker accessories broke and I needed to order some more but they didn't sell them separately. I decided to order a tokit after a bit of research and I wasn't disappointed, I ordered through the au website and received with au plug :) Pros: *Easy to use. *you can save recipes… Read more

if you can not connect to the wifi although once you get it out of the box it needs and update. *Detailed instructions *Can be used manually so can cook other thermo recipes *Quality feeling and fitting accessories Cons: *Only con I have found so far is cleaning the bowl itself is harder then my precious thermocooker as it has a lip at the bottom.

Poor first-hand experience – Got my Tokit 3 days ago, feedback is below and thought to share 1. Poor customer support - Within five minutes of the transaction, we realised our billing address needs to be changed (due to the default of PayPal). We emailed service@tokitglobal.com, but he/she has low English competency and didn't understand our request. We typed Chinese and… Read more

he/she declined our request.

When we received the machine, there was no invoice inside.

2. Low-quality adapter (see photo) - the AU adapter came with the machine cost $2 and my husband got zapped from it. We paid $1.5K AUD for this gadget and the manufacturer didn't even bother to change the plug or provide better quality.

3. 'Unpredictable pricing' We paid $15K AUD for the machine via the official website, and after a week, we received it on 24/2/2023 and a 20% promo offered on the official website. We could have saved $200 AUD.

'Oh well, what can you do?' but can't help wondered what you are actually paying for/ what's worth

TOKIT Omni Cook comes with a TRAVEL adapter to plug into Australian power outlets – 15 November2022: I have just unpacked my much anticipated TOKIT Omni Cook purchased from tokitglobal.com (owned by Chunmi Technology HK, parent company Xiaomi China), and delivered from a Queensland supplier. To my great disappointment, the power plug (HK-type) is upside down compared to Australian power plugs. The TOKIT webpage for Australian… Read more

purchases states that an adapter is supplied for Australian orders. Before purchasing, I emailed TOKIT Customer Service to ask if the adapter was bulky (the type of international adapters that I travel with), because I wouldn’t put an ugly, bulky adapter on my kitchen wall. Customer Service replied that the adapter was not bulky and that it would sit flat. NOTE: The supplied adapter is a TRAVEL adapter. It doesn’t sit flat, and the plug and cable are upside down. If the power plug was Australian compatible I'd probably give a 5-star rating after trying it out (assuming the glowing youtube reviews are trustworthy).

Because the HK/UK power plug is upside down compared to Australian power plugs, the power cable extends upwards instead of dropping down. It’s an ugly look. Additionally, the travel adapter does not sit flush on the PO wall-plate. This may not be a deal-breaker for some people, but the unsightly visual of the cable sticking up would constantly bother me. Additionally, I would have to push the travel adapter back into the wall-plate before every use. Both of these issues are not acceptable for a $1500 kitchen appliance.

I purchased the TOKIT Omni Cook as an upgrade from my Thermomix TM5 of 10 years. I had the previous TM31 for 5 years - so I’ve used this type of appliance for 15 years (Omni Cook bowl design is a copy of the Thermomix bowl design and the entire concept is another version of Thermomix. The TOKIT Omni Cook $1595 is $700 cheaper than, and has some similarities to the current release Thermomix TM6 $2300, so it seemed to be a no-brainer to get the OmniCook instead of the TM6. The TOKIT would be used 1-3 times a day, almost every day (morning juices, dinner meals, sometimes lunch meals). Pulling out the upside-down plug and power cable to hide it when not in use, then plugging it back into the power outlet for each use is not an option. I emailed TOKIT Customer Service immediately and sent them images. They replied that I could return the item. But they have not responded to my request for Returns information.

I would prefer to keep the Omni Cook if TOKIT can get the plug changed. The developers provided the appliance to lots of international online cooks to test and review on youtube, and it looks crackin’. However none of the commercial reviewers appeared to be Australian-based, so there was no reference to the incompatibility with Australian power outlets. I asked my (reputable) electrician if he could rewire the plug to fit Australian power outlets the correct way, and also to convert to Australian voltage. He said that he could do so only if the TOKIT has an Australian Standards Tick of Approval. The cost for a reputable Sydney electrician to replace the plug is not insignificant. Cost to me would be $80 call-out fee plus $124/hrly rate. BTW TOKIT have not provided Australian Standards certification.

I hope the TOKIT people fix this issue to sell to Australian consumers, although they may choose to withdraw it from sale to Australia, or continue selling it as is. I would definitely buy the appliance if the plug was Australian-compliant. They need to clarify on their website for Australian customers that they are providing a TRAVEL adapter.

ADDENDUM: Tonight I saw on TOKIT’s website that they are offering 30% Black Friday discount to Australian customers. 30%!! That's $500!!! I emailed Customer Service and suggested that, in good faith, they refund me 30% (for inconvenience to me, emails back and forth today, plus the cost of electrician to change the plug. Waiting.

UPDATE 16/11/2022: tokitglobal.com are no longer responding to my emails. I have sent 3 emails requesting Returns information - but not provided yesterday or today. Therefore claim submitted to PayPal for refund.

UPDATE 17/11/2022: tokitglobal.com emailed me immediately after PayPal forwarded them my claim. Offered me compensation increases three times. I told them the appliance is useless to me without evidence of Australian Standards compliance, and my electrician won't convert the plug because if an electrical incident occurs anytime later he would be held responsible. I've learned that travel adapters aren't designed for long-term use and should only be considered as a temporary solution. Cooking with a powerful kitchen appliance twice per day that is running on power passing through a travel adapter is irresponsible and risky. Apart from possible harm, if an electrical incident occurred my insurer would void my claim for damages because the appliance is not Australian Standards compliant. Losing patience with having to justify my request for refund over and over again. Escalated the claim through PayPal.
