1 HMS  · Ouch, I had to give up on this cup. It was just too painfull to use. I've been using cups for 8 years. This one is the worst I've used
1 Anna  · PAINFUL-DO NOT BUY – It has a really hard material. It is not easy to grab it and remove also. I had ache all day and relieved when i take it out.
2 HLC  · Stressful – I found the same thing as others, just incredulity difficult to remove. I won't be using again as I can't imagine it getting any easier.

I used a diva cup for years but Woolworths stopped selling them so I thought I’d try the Tom cup as that was all that was available. In comparison, it’s harder to insert, and stupidly hard to remove!! I feel sorry for people who are wanting to give a period cup a go, and start out with this one as their first. It’s not a good representation of how easy and convenient they can be! Show details

Would give less than one ⭐️ if possible, unsafe! Very difficult to remove, did become stuck and lucky I am a nurse working in women’s health, was able to remove it, had multiple women present to where I work needing a procedure to have the cup removed and requiring antibiotic cover as they had not been able to remove it for over 24 hours. Do not buy! Show details

5+ years cup user and this one has been the most painful one yet. Your period already lubricates you pretty well down there and makes it easier to insert but this was so so hard to insert! There's was quite a lot of friction and once I inserted it I felt like my Insides were getting pulled out because the suction was so strong it was painful. I… Read more

leaked like 2 times overnight while wearing it too. Got so frustrated I went back to my trusty lunnette cup. The only reason I give it two stars is because I like the sterilizer. Will throw it out and never but any of their products again.

BEST CUP! Never going back to tampons and pads – This is was my first time using a period cup and I am now officially converted! I will never ever use a pad or tampon again for periods - I feel great knowing I am doing my part for the environment and it's actually more convenient to just empty my cup instead of putting used sanitary items in the bin. I've been using the cup for almost two years,… Read more

went around Europe for 5 months with it last year and it was a lifesaver! It's never leaked and I find it so comfortable and hygienic. Thanks TOM!

Best cup I’ve used – I realise I am the minority here but since different bodies need different cups, it may help others to hear my positive experience. This is my third cup I’ve used and the best by far. I tried the Lunette and Nixit. The Lunette was uncomfortable for me, feeling obviously ‘there’, and it leaked. The nixit was really expensive compared to others and… Read more

it is so shallow it wasn’t a cup for me, just a barrier really and constantly leaked. I have really heavy periods and they are fast (1-2 days). I got the Tom cup size 2 and I love it. It’s never leaked and I can’t feel it when it’s in. Brilliant. As for removal, yes the little indents don’t do much. But in my experience I don’t find it any harder to remove than other cups. The sterilising container is really handy. In all, the best cup I’ve used and a good price. I hope this helps others.

I like it – I brought this 6 months ago, for a. While I was to scared to try it, but decided to give it a go, it took a couple tries to work it out. I now have cramp free shorter periods. Normally my period would last 7-14 days and I would spot after, now I have 3 day periods with no after spotting! Can be hard to get going Show details

Disgusting, Messy and Painful – I have been using a menstrual cup for more than 5 years now. It was a game changer for me and the best part was as someone with HEAVY flow, for the first time in my life (I am now 40 by the way) was that I didn't leak. I have not bled a single drop into any knickers, pants or bed sheets in over 5 years. And then I got the TOM because my Diva… Read more

wasn't available while i was away on holidays and had the unexpected guest turn up early. I have ruined all my knickers, every pair of pants I had with me now has stains and needs washing. My sheets, a horror film had less blood. I have a shower, wash and reinsert it, by the time I get out and start drying myself I'm leaking, there is blood on the towel fresh from the shower. This is disgusting and I cannot wait to get home and have my Diva again. And I'm not going to even bother mention how uncomfortable it is or that the stem stabs me awkwardly and feels quite painful, because number one, this is so messy and I'm scared to go anywhere because every five minutes I need to clean myself. The rest is slightly irrelevant after that serious complaint. Will Not recommend. Will post poor reviews everywhere and even going to stick post-its over them in stores. Anyone looking for a cup don't purchase this and go for a Diva Cup instead, never had an issue with them. Oh, by the way, do you really want me to post a photo of this in my review? I doubt it, take my word.

Poor design, will get stuck – Do not use this period cup! Removing this cup is a certified nightmare, I felt violated and mutilated trying to remove this cup out. It took hours of many breakdowns, crying, sore wrists, fingers and hole to get it out. I need a drink and a therapy session after the whole ordeal. The cup itself is too smooth to get any grip and is so thick it… Read more

makes even inserting difficult. To pull it out you have to basically dig it out with a finger pushing it into the wall for it to budge, but due to the smoothness of the cup your finger ends up sliding off most of the time, the intuitive grip does nothing as it is also too smooth grip. For the girls that have a high cervix do not even think to buy this cup cause it'll just get stuck right away. Was close to going to the ER to get this cup removed it is that difficult. This product needs to be taken off of the shelves and redesigned as there has been many cases of women having to go to the ER to get it removed which should never be the case for a menstrual cup.

Please do heaps of research before buying as this cup will be unsuitable for most body types.

Only pro to this is the steriliser cup which I will be saving for my other cups.

I am lucky that I bought this cup when it was on special as I at least am only $20 out of pocket instead of $40...

Avoid unnecessarily pain – Worst period cup experience. So painful to insert and remove, leaked a bunch. Used for one period as I was overseas and had no other option. Threw out as soon as I could. Such a waste of money. Show details

Worst experience of my life – Worst period cup ever!!! Do NOT recommend I am a veteran cup user, love the ease and convenience of cups and have never had this issue with any other brands I’ve used. This one, however, has taught me to read reviews. Honestly, I’ve not had kids yet, but pretty sure my experience with the Toms Cup has give my uterus the knowledge of how to birth… Read more

something. Believe me, to get this sucker out of my cervix basically felt like birthing an egg. The muscles of my cervix are basically now like Arnold Schwarzenegger - in his 80s body building hey-day. Trust me folks, unless you want to spend 8 hours over many consecutive days getting this sucker out, followed by the most embarrassing trip to an urgent care centre you have ever had, don’t bother buying.

Removal required a trip to the Emergency Department – First time using a period cup. I found it was really difficult to insert the cup initially so I tried a month later in the shower and was able to insert it after following some you tubes directing me to insert toward my tail bone. I slept with it in overnight, no leaks, felt comfortable and not at all noticeable. It started to feel like a great… Read more

purchase. However, I was unable to remove the cup the following day. I wasn't able to reach the mechanism on the sides of the cup to release and remove it. The only way I was able to remove the period cup was with assistance from a Dr at a priority care clinic providing an awkward first experience. This hasn't deterred me from looking into period cups but this wasnt the most suitable cup for me.

Terrible – I’m a veteran cup user, and this is the worst cup I’ve ever used. So soft that it will not pop open, regardless of what fold is used. Even putting it in practically open, my body will force it to fold once its in. Constant leaks because you can’t get a good seal. If you’ve had kids, do not use this cup, your anatomy will crush it like the hulk. Show details

Not for me – The first and only cup I've tried so far. Gave it a go for a couple of periods but it just doesn't work for me. The stem is too hard and irritates my urethra and given you don't pull it out using the stem and it doesn't help at all with getting it out, it's a rather pointless addition really. I found it leaked more often than not but the times… Read more

I've gotten a good seal it's been crazy hard to get my fingers in the right place to get enough grip to be able to pinch it and break the seal. On the upside, at least it's not super expensive and I'm pleased to have a better idea of what will work for my body now.

Odour! – I've been using mestrual cups for over 6 years and had the Tom cup as a backup. I had used it for 3-4 cycles before it started smelling really bad. i sterilized but it would not go away. I had to use pads after many many years cause where I was living, cups were not common and I do not like tampons. I did not have any issue removing like many… Read more

people have mentioned and the cup was comfortable to me. But that smell got me really worried. I will edit my review if the smell goes away. ( i have not given up and still sterilizing!)

In short i do not recommend, instead use a lily cup there are so much better Tom needs to go back to the drawing board in the nicest way possible. i would love to try other tom cups if i see better reviews, i love the tom products but this is not it.

It got stuck – I bought this cup as a backup for my other menstrual cup (different brand). The first time I used it, it got stuck. It was such a stressful experience. this one has no grooves to grip onto and the silicone is far too smooth. Would not recommend. A complete waste of $40. Very concerning that this product is still on the market with so many people experiencing the same issue.

It is impossible to remove - I had to go to the hospital – The TOM Organic period cup became stuck in my body the first time I used it. I was unable to get it out and had to go to hospital to have it removed as the GP was unable to remove it. This product is completely defective, it is unsafe for use and should not be sold. Hard to pee, gave a UTI after 2 days – It sits in an awkward position that makes really hard to pee. I had to take it out to pee fully and woke up during the night twice to get full bladder relieve. After 36h like that, I end up with UTI because the urine stayed inside me a long time. I am used to cups, I use it over 6 years now, and recently swap to TOM. Bad and painful mistake. Show details

Poor design, very uncomfortable – Insertion is very difficult as it doesn't naturally pop into shape and create a seal. I tried using some lube but that only made it harder as it became slippery and hard to manipulate. Removal is painful as the rim is not flexible. The tab at the bottom actually sits in the entrance to my vagina, despite me positioning the cup as far up as I can… Read more

get it, which is really uncomfortable. It also leaks. I haven't had proper periods in years due to having an IUD, I only got this one two periods ago. Five years ago I had a different cup that I had used for years, even before having intercourse and had never ever felt it or had a single issue. Really disappointed in this product. Steriliser is a great idea but not much help if the thing being sterilised hurts all day long and doesn't do its job.

Don't buy it!! – I like the sterilising cup they give you but the removal of the cup is so difficult! It's almost impossible to grip. It's a thicker silicone than I've used before and nowhere near as flexible as it should be. Gibe this one a miss. Show details

hard to use, causing irritation – after using another brand period cup for 12 months I tried the Tom's cup as it was time for a replacement. Awkward and Painful – I've used another brand before and didn't have any issues. I really wanted to like this one because of the easy sterilizer feature. grasp of and manoeuvre free without straining your fingers and often tearing at your inner walls causing rawness and distress. I've given this cup about 4-5 periods to see if its something I'm doing wrong, but I think done now. Perhaps it's just not the right shape / texture for me. Do not recommend as a first cup. Likely to put you off cups going forward and that would be a shame as they are excellent when you get the right fit.

Great replacement for pads – TOM period cup is my first cup. It was easy to insert. However , the 2 issues I always encounter with the cup is removing and leakage. Leakage issue only occur when my heavy flow day . Removing the cup can be quite difficult for me sometimes. At least 2 times I couldn’t reach my cup or the end tail. Thought I had to see a doctor to get it out. Somehow I took a break , then try again, and finally removed . Show details

Size 2- did not last more than 2 hrs. heavy flow- I do not recommend - maybe after first few of days of heavy bleeding – Bought size 2. Heavy flow. Thinking it would last me a few hours. fiddling around to make sure it’s in right and suction is good. The idea is great, but totally useless for a heavy flow. Would only be good for after the first few days.

Didnt last anywhere near as long as I expected – Really loved this period cup, never had any leakages, found it super comfortable and easy to remove and insert. However I’ve had it for around 6 months and I’ve found that it’s starting to discolor, especially around the little holes. I’ve tried everything to clean it and have sterilized it regularly. Show details
