I really don’t like this bin. We started with the munchkin pail and switched to try the Tommee Tippee one to see if it was easier to refil the bags ourselves. Which yes it is if you buy the no frills refills bags but the Tommee Tippie bin smells really bad, you have to really try to open it with one hand and if it’s not full yet it’s harder to get… Read more

open without lifting off the ground. It takes an extra step to twist off the bin after each nappy and it still smells. Not even just when you open it. We found with the bin closed and the room closed off you would walk in and still smell the nappies. No matter how full it is. I will say it was good how many nappies would fit in a small bin.

We have decided to go back to the munchkin pail and pay for the bag liners each time instead. At least with this bin it comes with a spot to have an air freshener to help tame the bin smell. And it will do a temporary twist after each use. Yes when you open the bin lid it would un twist but we never smelt the nappies while it would untwist for you to put a new nappy in.

Fiddly and costs $600 per year! – The idea behind this bin is great, but it has major problems. The liners are extremely expensive. A one month supply of liners (6 cartridges) costs $50. Multiplied by 12 months brings it up to $600 per year. For comparison, you can spend $50 per year on nappy bags from Woolies. The bin is also fiddly to use. The instructions that it came with… Read more

were not clear at all. I had to watch a few YouTube videos to work it out. The lid was impossible to open with one hand and needed a lot of strength to open, so I had to file the catch down to make it work. The bin is round at the bottom, so it easily topples over. The lid doesn't open far enough, so it often falls shut in the middle of a nappy change. The bin has only one handle, so it's awkward to carry outside to empty it. It doesn't fully seal the smell in, so the room has a pooey smell. The liner can't be twisted shut with one hand on the baby. There is no indication when the liner is running out, so it usually runs out in the middle of a nappy change and needs the dirty nappy and wipes to be fished out so the liner can be tied off. The liners run out frequently, so the bin has to be opened up for a liner change or emptied all the time.

DO NOT BUY Stinkarama - bin liners no longer lock in smell – The bins and bags used to be good, pricey but good, as they allowed dirty nappies to sit inside for days with the seal and bag locking out smell but now the sustainable bags aren’t locking odour - so the room smells like a dirty nappy has been left on the floor - so you can’t put #2s in there - the whole point of the product!!

Bin absorbs odours even without spills – Never had a spill, bin just reeks of off-poo which made the room and entire house stink over time with a gag stench. Bleach soaked, bin buddy, nothing fixed it. Asked Tommee Tippee for help, they wasted my time asking for a million photos and batch numbers to then ask for a receipt. No mate, I don’t keep a receipt for a plastic bin under the cost… Read more

of $100. Their answer ‘sorry can’t help you anymore’

Until all this I had been recommending these type of nappy bins to new mums and I was going to keep using these bins once my baby was potty trained even though the cartridges are ridiculously pricey. But with this experience I’ll still recommend nappy bins..but I’d steer well clear of this brand!

Awesome – I bought this second hand and love it, have had no issues, the only time the room smells is when baby does a really stinky one and the smell stays in the actual air, not from the bin because that's contained but in the air particles itself. If the smell is your issue you can get refill rolls online that totally mask the smell. Show details

Smells poop – Smells poop all the time since they changed the plastic. Joke of a company continuing selling this at a very high price when the product doesn’t fill its purpose. Don’t buy!

Crappy experience – BUYER BEWARE: Twist & Click nanny bins will leave your house stinking of literal crap. Their bin liners contain no smell at all. They are aware of this problem since changing the way they manufacture the new bin liners, however can't tell consumer when new bin liners will be made available on the market yet continue to sell products not fit for… Read more

purpose and do not work anything like they should. Customer Service is of no help and just reply with copy & pasted speels from their product listing's like robots after waiting days & weeks between replies. Don't waste your time or money with this company. A quick google review will confirm 99% of consumers have had the same 'crappy' experience.

It was perfect but now it's horrible – When we first bought it, it was amazing! No smell whatsoever but now after the change of plastic liners, the room smells like poop constantly! I've tried everything but it smells all the time! Show details

No longer worth the money – I was super skeptical when my wife bought this bin. I thought it was overpriced, and no better than simply using plastic bags. I changed my mind in 24 hours! About a month or two ago, Tommee Tippee have changed the bag film to some sugar cane "sustainable" alternative. Our nursery now constantly stinks of poop, and the bin needs to be changed (particularly in summer) every few days. Show details

Used to be good now stinks – The new plastic bags with the green tinge doesn't hold any smell in what so ever. The old grey ones used to never smell. However after buying and using the newer green film plastic bags, the nappy bin and subsequently the room the bin is stinks! Tommee Tippee need to fix this, I have submitted a complaint from them, but don't expect anything. Show details

Used to be great, now with the biodegradable bags it’s a complete waste of money – I used to love our bin and it kept all the smelly poopy nappies contained well. However with the new biodegradable inserts it is a complete waste of space. No odour is contained at all and I have to empty the bin after each poopy nappy so it is now pointless. Tommee Tippee needs to rethink the biodegradable bags as surely no one would ever rebuy the inserts! Such a waste of money. Show details

Product description False and Misleading - FOUL ODOUR with new bags so now worse than useless!!!! – The following points in the description and details advertised for this product are false and misleading and need to be reported to ACCC if not addressed - I see other people are experiencing the same issue. 1. “Unbeatable germ and odour protection keeps your home fresh and smell-free ...” 2. “Powered by Sangenic for guaranteed odour and germ… Read more

protection.” 3. New bags “The same thickness and odour blocking performance.”

There is no odour protection at all, if anything this bin actually creates a much more revolting smell now than any open bin does.

I say this as someone who initially LOVED this bin....it was excellent and worked as described for me for about 6 months or so. Then it started to smell soooo bad, no matter whether it was emptied weekly or daily. People coming to visit the house commented on the smell in the hallway outside the room. Thinking the odour had got into the plastic, we washed the bin several times, left it in the sun, used air fresheners, everything we could think of....but as soon as it got a nappy or two in it within hours the smell would start again. Because it had been a great bin and I figured the sudden smell must have been our fault somehow...maybe I didn’t empty it soon enough etc, we went out and bought a BRAND NEW bin to try and resolve the issue. Less than 1 day worth of nappies went into the bin and the smell was just as bad as ever....revolting. No one believed I put a brand new bin in, even though they were different colours. Could not understand how a brand new bin was also smelling sooo nauseating already. Persisted through a bag cartridge, but still just as bad....it always smelled bad, but open the lid and push a nappy into it and there is no smell like it. When I went to change the cartridge I used an old one I had found in a cupboard and realised it was a different texture to the more recent bags - and it is white rather than a pale green colour. I’ve now done a test and with the old white bags over the past 2+ weeks and the new bin is now working and odour free with it (wasted more $ to buy it and throw the older one!)....so it appears the new bags being sold now are the problem and leaving the bin not fit for its purpose....good luck finding the old bags now though, so new bin useless once there are no white bag cartridges available. Until they fix this issue do yourself a favour and do not buy!!!

Started off amazing, now is useless – Got this bin for my baby shower while I was pregnant, had heard great things and was excited to not have to do a million trips to the outside bin at all hours. I was also given a supply of refills which was excellent. There was no smell, the bin fits nicely in the nursery. Happy days. Until I ran out of the refills and had to order more. They now… Read more

have green bags- better for the environment (which I absolutely support) but they do not contain the smell at all. The WHOLE purpose of this bin. The nursery smells, whether the lid is open or closed. It doesn’t matter how much you try and contain the smell- you can’t. I contacted them- and was told essentially ‘too bad’ this is what we have now, so as annoying as it is, oh well. So basically- don’t waste your money. If you want something to contain the smell- this IS NOT for you. And if you want a company rather than help you- to ask if you know how to clean the bin.. somehow implying that the fact it smells- is because I’m not clean, rather than the fact their product is falsely advertised- then this is for you. Such a shame.

Smells so bad – I had one of these a few years ago for my daughter, worked well. Bought a new one for my son last year and since purchased an new bin as could not get the smell out! The new one made no difference!! The smell is so bad I can smell it as soon as I walk in the room, even if there is just a few nappies in it!! I'm not sure if its thr new style bags… Read more

or new style bin but I would not recommend this to anyone...I have wasted so much money on the refills hoping that they might somehow work like they used to! Very disappointed!!

The new bags are terrible – I give two stars for the concept. The bin is fine. I like the easy twist function. But the new version of the bags are no longer useable; they completely stink out the room. It’s not the nappies that smell, it’s somehow the bags. The old version were fine. They do not neutralise odours any more, unfortunately. If you buy the bin, consider using a different refill brand. Show details

New green coloured bags don't work! – We purchased one of these about 12 months ago and it generally worked pretty well at containing odours. I found it easy to use and empty, and a convenient item that I would recommend to my friends. The refill cartridges are a bit pricey but the bulk packs often go on sale for a good price. The plastic use to be a white colour but has recently… Read more

changed to a green tinge colour. The new green tinge plastic does not work to contain odours whatsoever. We raised this with tommee tippee and they told us to take it up with the retailer that we bought them from. They couldn't give us an answer why the product has changed. If they don't charge the plastic back then I wouldn't recommend this product at all and will be throwing mine in the bin because it is useless and does not work as advertised.

Easy to use, keeps smell away – I bought this because it was the only nappy bin I could find. Got it home and was simple to set up and start using. The only part I had to get used to was remembering to open the bin before starting to change as it is not easily opened with 1 hand. Show details
