Tontine Essentials Super Warmth Quilt

Love this quilt – Previously sleeping with flannelette sheets, 500gsm wool quilt and one or two polar fleece blankets. Bought this quilt and so far haven't needed to add blankets this winter, found it to be light, very warm, and snugly. I would say it lives up to its description. In fact I'm looking for another one.
This is not a warm doona at all, not even warm enough in mid autumn – This is described as "I need a lot of warmth and comfort" and "super warmth for the coldest winter". We have a fairly warm house, flanelette sheets, an electric blanket to preheat our bed and it is only the middle of a very mild autumn, but this doona (in a cover) is already totally insufficient. We are a female (admittedly sensitive to the cold) and male who is very tolerant of the cold (he works outdoors throughout the Victorian winter) and even he was regularly being woken up by being too cold in the middle of the night, until we put an extra doona inside the cover with it.
Our climate is similar to Melbourne, so unless you live in the tropics, want to wear layers to bed or keep the heating on all night, I would definitely not recommend this product. I spoke to the company and they basically said this meets their standards, I suggested in that case they should reassess their standards, but I somehow have a feeling they won't. Disappointing as we had wanted to support an Australian company.
If you are selling a doona as super warm, make it super warm and don't make excuses!
(This doona was bought at Big W in March 2015. Filling is polyester, as it is with all of our previous bedding)
