A light travelling companion – Once updated this computer performs quite well, can be slow if it becomes overloaded with programs or photos like most but generally works well. Came with a starter Windows pack and upgraded to Windows 10. A little faster and has good video, leaves the Ipad for dead. Battery life is good, works well on Wi Fi. Great for travelling as it is light
Excellent all round mobile computer – A well rounded little product, beats the ipad for word processing and web surfing, hands down (As PC does not limit the viewing of Adobe FLASH). Really smart product, allows you to charge a usb device eg. phone, mp3 player, while the netbook is powered off. Great speakers, a lot better then my other full sized laptop speakers, but I won't say you… Read more
can replace your stereo with it.
The built quality is excellent, compared to my old Asus EEEPC. The keyboard layout is excellent too. My fingers aren't cramped in a weird position like other netbooks. In fact, I'm enjoying typing this review with my NB550! Build quality, long battery life, excellent keyboard and multimedia ability Keyboard is not back lit. Needs more RAM
Excellent machine for the price – I bought this from Dicksmith and was impressed so far after one month of use. I bought it for the purpose of my Japan trip and was very happy with what this netbook provides. A lot of hotels still do not provide Wireless internet so if you were thinking ipad 2 was the way to go, you will be in for a nasty surprise that not all countries have… Read more
wireless internet ready. Besides this baby comes with bluetooth and wireless and LAN option! Something a Mac powerbook has for $1K+ ! On top of this it has 3 USB ports and a SD slot for easy transfer of pictures from your camera.
I bought a portable DVD drive at $55 to complete the flexibility of the machine as you should do a backup image so that you can recover if your Windows 7 start failed on you. Toshiba does not provide a restore CD but I believe their support provides one for you to download if you need. Small, heaps of features for what you paid. Nothing, 2GB ram would be nice, even though I was ok with 1GB.
