Great for what I need it for – I have had this laptop for approximately 2 years. I haven't had any issues with it. Although it does have poor quality speakers, I think this is probably common with various other laptops. I have found that it runs fast despite how memory has been used, the battery life is good, the general functionality of it is great. I only use it for data… Read more
entry, word processing, internet surfing, watching movies and downloading tv programs/music/movies to my external hard drive and it has had no issues over the two years that I have owned it.
Toshiba Satelite "Poor" - Extremely poor performance and sound – I purchased this laptop in november last year, so it is just over a year old now. This laptop was purchased mainly for business purposes as I am a bokkeeper working from home. It has got an i3 core processor, 2.53 GHz - 4 GB RAM and 500 GB. Even having 4 GB RAM its performance is very slow for business purposes. The fans are a little bit too… Read more
noisy but what I really hate about this laptop is the quality of sound and volume of the speakers. The sound that comes out of the speakers is awful. The volume is extremelly low and the sound quality is the worst I have ever seen. If one is going to use this laptop strictly for studies purposes and internet use only, you may not be too disappointed with this laptop's performance. But if you are going to use it to play songs and movies and also work with different programs and files open at the same time, this laptop will disappoint you extremely as it has disappointed me.
This laptop has been so far the worst buy I've ever made in my life, a real disaster that I have to put up with for another year at least, if it lasts for another year. I was lucky that the HD happened to die just 2 weeks before the warranty expire date. My husband contacted Toshiba and they organized a courier to pick it up. They took 1 week to replace the faulty HD and sent us back, but without the cable. We had to contact them again, so they organized a new cable to be sent to us. In total it took 2 weeks to get the laptop serviced and being able to use it again, especially because I depend on it to do my job. Servicing did not cost us anything because the laptop was “just” but still under the 12 months warranty which was good. About a week later, the guys from Toshiba found the missing cable and sent it to us. I was not expecting it but it is good to have an extra cable to compensate for the inconvenience of having the laptop serviced but not being able to use it for a few days. Anyway, I do not intend to buy laptop from online stores anymore unless I make sure I check the sound quality of the laptop speakers before ordering.
I do not recommend this laptop because its overall performance is too slow and the quality of the sound of the speakers is terrible. Inexpensive, energy efficiency and light weight "supposedly" Very poor performance
