the setting. This cam only records when it likes and will completey stop all together most nights and you watch the generic reply i get for this review trust me they are all as bad as each other they all make you subscribe now. If you can find an old school security system my advice is get it like i have they record non stop no subscription cr#p and ya can set up your own cloud storage.... these cams are junk all brands do the same cr#p now.....

TP-link Tapo C310 purchased 2yrs ago and keep going offline all the time. I can see there is power to the unit but no access on the phone. troubleshooting and have a subscription to upload the captures to Tapo cloud. I am planning to cancel the subscription and throw away the unit. ** DON'T BUY! ***
Poor connection – After a few months product continually stops connecting to phone and I have to take the camera down to open it and reset the stupid thing.

TP-link Tapo C310 – I have purchased 6 of these cameras without reviewing or looking at them. I have found these are the greatest products I have ever purchased. I also purchased Google nest extreme end. But I love Tepo more than Google nest. Tepo app is better than Google app. Because these cameras have a microSD card and you can record on it. and night vision I can see IP addresses and can view and record on VLC .
The Only issues I found is that it just times out randomly.
I have run these Bluestacks, Android, VLC, Ubuntu, iphone, ipad and almost all devices. They work excellent on all devices.
Tepo may not even have checked all these devices . but I did.
Revised my opinion of the TAPO C310 camera – I found the build quality was above average but I had all sorts of issues trying to connect it to my home WiFi via the App. When I "joined the TAPO network" on my iPhone WiFi settings it would not progress past giving me lots of warnings about unsecured network etc. No matter what I tried I couldn't make it talk to my Telstra network. I did a RESET of the camera and voila, all fixed! From there on the App Settings worked perfectly and for the price it does a pretty good job! Resolution at 1080 fpm is very clear and with the SD Micro card and the App it's very simple to see what the cam has picked up!
It's had a few bad reviews but I really can't fault it as yet! I could maybe suggest download the App before turning the camera ON as maybe doing the reverse upsets it's little brain trying to link to something, just a thought!

Great Device but has major flaws – This is a great IP Camera, BUT, it has no email notification capability , so it's a very poor security solution, as the intruder has to merely disconnect the camera to stop recording and detection, and to pull it off the wall and take it or destroy it to remove any footage prior. as well as high end cameras. TP-LINK have really let me down here. Suggestion is do not buy if Security footage is important.
i've updated this to one star, not only is there no email capabiity, one needs to do a complete reset to change the wifi network.
