Absolute rubbish thankfully discontinued leaks DO NOT BUY!!! – Leaks everywhere from base, a known fault yet they continued to sell Thought it looked good on kitchen bench but has to work right? Avoid this brand Would rate minus five if could
Stinks of melting plastic – from the first use, kettle has stunk of melting plastic and the water is undrinkable. Have tried everything to get the smell and taste out. Nothing works. Do not buy! Show details
Leaking – Bought less than a year ago and it's leaking. Dangerous as there are electrics . Looks good but I wouldn't suggest buying. Pooling water on counter and base . Should last longer than it did. Show details
Safety hazard – Kettle worked perfectly for a few months before it started to leak. I first noticed the leak after almost slipping on a pool of water on the floor. Left any longer and my flooring could have been ruined. After inspection, I noticed beads of water forming along the join at the base. I tried contacting Harvey Norman about the issue just to be… Read more
ignored. I continued using the kettle as I was not able to purchase another, however the leaking has become worst. The leaking is now also coming from the water level window. I am having to drain the kettle after each use and clean up water from underneath just to ensure I do not receive an electric shock. This item is very dangerous! It is a SAFETY HAZARD that Harvey Norman needs to INDEFINITELY recall and work on new methods of product design and durability. DO NOT risk your families safety, DO NOT PURCHASE this item!!!!!!
Attractive kettle but leaks water – Within 18 months leaked water. Consider dangerous because water pooling near electrical cable and afraid could cause electrocution. Given the high price, very disappointing! Would like to be given a full refund. Show details
Kettle Looks Great But It Leaks! – After 15 months leaked twice in one weekend. Glad I was home to mop up the water. Concerned about safety. Wish I'd seen these reviews before purchasing good looking kettle with matching toaster. Show details
Rubbish too much water on outside – 2 kettles this year both left a lake on my bench looking for a new one it wont be trent and steel this kettle was to match the colour of the kitchen cabinets and new bench. i think that with the added problem of water and electricity am hoping that don't have a burnt bench before i get around to getting another jug Show details
Dangerous Kettle that leaks water and mixes with electricity should be a Recall on this product – Features design and colour wonderful. The kettle leaks water pooling into electrical over bench and floor would like to see this on a recall due to safety issues. Many people seem to be having the same issue and the company says it ok for a kettle to leak. No way I would recommend this product and anyone else that has this issue please report it. Show details
Trent and Steele Kettle - Leaked - Exchanged - Leaked Again. STAY AWAY! – I purchased this Kettle in July as a present for my partner. Around a month later we awoke to a bench full of water, we returned the product to Harvey Norman in exchange for a new unit, and once again, not even a month later another bench full of water. At the price point you would think that this product would have enough research and development… Read more
applied to be able to contain it's contents.. Absolutely disgusted and will never purchase a product made or designed by Trent and Steele again.
Leaks don't buy – Onto our 4th one now within 12 months, first 2 leaked, water left on the base, the 3rd started tripping the circuit breaker. We would have changed brands but we bought a matching toaster and blender. See if Harvey Noorman will replace a matching set when they stop selling T&S.?. Show details
The heating base leaked – I had a matching T&S toaster and kettle. Now the toaster in another review of mine is brilliant The kettle leaked after 12 months of usage. Why does this occur? Well I have owned two kettles that leaked , one was a Russell Hobbs and the other was this brand. I have brought my old Kambrook out of the cupboard and it is the same type of… Read more
heating base but never leaked.
Two types of kettle designs
1 - direct element. here the element is visible in the kettle which to date has never leaked in any model i bought which does not include T&S
2 - Indirect element design where the element is attached to a thermal plate as in the T&S design and all you see is the stainless base at the bottom of the kettle.
Really dissapointed. It was not due to low fill or dry boil., just really bad manufacture in my opinion.
So the leakage is from the kettle seal to the electric base, rather dangerous too. The kettle still worked even though this leakage was present. However it now fails AS 3760 due to visible damage and as such had be thrown out.
cmon you lot, you know why it leaked , and you have too much competition in the market to make such a poor lasting kettle. I retired my Kambook solid base kettle which was less than 50% the cost of yours and now its back working again.
Good toaster and rubbish kettle.
Are you embarrassed? you should be cos my son bought both for me as a present.
Your off the XMAS list now...your fault , Water and electricty are dangerous combinations so I cant buy this brand knowing others could be at risk
Leaks – It leaks - sometimes. Sometimes we find a pool of water under it, sometimes not. We nearly alway have water left in it so it's weird that it's intermittent. I also don't like that it has a fully detachable lid (which fell off into a saucepan recently). Finally the level markings are very indistinct. Show details
perfect with my decore – i just purchased all my furniture from ikea not so long ago,and was thrilled to find the kithchen appliance that matched my scandi theme,,,,love the white kettle with timber look handle amd the levers on the toaster in the timber look great.....talking point in the kitchen when we get visitors...wish they had a sugar bowl Show details
Beautiful to look at but fails functionally – Poor quality of workmanship for the price paid. Am about to return for the second time. First kettle the powder coating lifted from around the bottom after 3 months. Second return, any water left in runs out from the bottom. I bought the product for its looks. Bad move. Unfortunately I didn’t research before purchasing. Show details
