Trent & Steele TS3100

Surprised by the rust – We have an excellent Trent & Steele 4 slice toaster, so we bought a T & S stainless steel kettle, thinking the quality would be as high as the toaster, which it is in most ways - boils quickly and not very noisy, easy to clean etc. The one drawback is that it has started to rust in places around the top, under the lid. It may be spots where it was… Read more
welded during manufacture, but drinking rust is a health risk and not a good taste either. I haven't found the receipt yet, so I'm not sure if the warranty is current.
Can't Live With It – Had it 2 months, it has stopped working, blue light goes but does not heat the water. Purchased as didn't want a plastic cheep kettle. This one lasted two months, cheep ones last longer. Back to the camping white plastic kettle. It is a shame that we purchase so many good looking items that let us down. Not plastic Does not heat the water, lovely blue light work.
Toaster (TS8012PH) and matching dome Kettle (TS868H) – Have to put the toast in for a second time as the toast doesn't seem to brown enough. (YES I have tried adjusting the dial numerous times) Kettle is ridiculously loud and takes forever to boil (about 8 minutes 1/2 full). Used for approximately 8 months until smoke suddenly started coming out of the on/off switch. Threw it away and gone back to my… Read more
old faithful (one minute to boil from cold start) Sunbeam (Peace & Quiet) Should have taken them back but foolishly threw out the receipt.
No good. Lid sticks shut after just a few uses. Don't buy – Lid stuck within a few days, opened capriciously. Should have returned just too busy, 10 months later quit completely. Useless design. I'll write to make a claim, lost receipt. We'll never buy this brand again.
Kettle lid rusted shut...should have returned it, but life got in the way! – After just a few weeks the button became a bit dodgy, needed a bit of fiddling to open, but before long it just wouldnt open anymore. The button was broken, the lid welded shut with a sort of rusting. I've seen so many similar reviews now that I'd say catagorically...don't buy Trent & Steele. It looks stylish, but at the end of the day, you just want to make a cup of tea without faffing about!
Had to exchange it – The kettle worked fine at first. We didn't mind the beeping and really liked how it displayed the water temperature. However, within a couple months the push button to open the lid stopped working. I've now exchanged it for another kettle. The functions are great but too bad the kettle didn't last for very long.
Okay kettle, not okay beeping – For a cheap metal kettle (I don't like plastic ones) this performs well and is easy to use. The only thing wrong is the beeping when the water boils - it drives the entire house crazy. It's very loud, repetitive and totally unnecssesary. I would buy or recommend this product because of this - it's truly that annoying. It does boil water Beeping noise
We love our kettle – It gives accurate temperature readings so you can make different teas to the exact temperature. The beeping can be annoying but at least you know when it's boiled. Our only concern is the tiny droplet of moisture that leaks from the bottom of the spout and are wondering if this is a feature we have to live with or not. We like its looks and are… Read more
enjoying have the temperature control it offers.
If it is australian as it appeared to claim, that's a bonus too. temperature control. tiny leak from bottom of spout
It's Beeping Annoying – The incessant gratuitous beeping drives me crazy. I don't need to be shouted at seventeen times just because I want to take it off it's stand when I AM ready, not when IT IS ready. Last time I looked, I paid for IT, IT didn't pay for ME. Another case of a 22 yo product engineer who knows nothing of life. Looks good. Stainless steel. It's Beeping Annoying
