Buyer beware! – KASPAROV! Legend! i have a ryobi 2100W , 2750PSi for the same price from bunnings. the TE4000 is advertised as a 4000psi machine so i thought i was getting a good deal. no one told or corrected me at Sydneytools or confirmed what the actual operating pressure is. after using it a few times, it did not feel like 4000psi at all and i was going… Read more

to put a pressure gauge on the machine also. saved me a lot time friggin around mate.

got this machine 2 months ago maybe and i will be returning it promptly, falsely advertised and not fit for use!

no doubt it will take an hour to argue my points across before they offer me a useless store credit as per their returns policy. And i paid cash!!!

Mixed Bag: 2500 PSI Rated Pressure but Turbo Lance Weak published 4 years ago I have tested the Typhoon TE4000 from Sydney Tools for $499 a few times now.

Its Typhoon's top electric model.

Rated Pressure: 2500 psi

Confirmed with Pressure Gauge: 2600psi/180bar, but this is when the pump loads up when you switch it on, when you press the trigger the Operating Pressure is 1900PSI.

Claimed Weight: 27kg

Weight on scales : 22kg

Cleaning Pin and Manual included.

Vario Lance and Turbo Lance Included.

The pump produces what's stated on the machine and evem more which is 2600psi, I connected a pressure gauge at the hose and it hits 2600 when machine loads up, when you squeeze the trigger it drops to just below 2000psi to 1900 PSI, so the OPERATING Pressure is 1900PSI, not 2500 like you are lead to believe. which is with the vario lance. Jet stream feel quite powerful.

Stay away – I've had my Typhoon TE4000 for a little over two years. It's just died due to an electrical fault internally. Out of warranty, so I opened it up to take a look and found severely burnt out wiring & melted micro switch that looks marginally rated. I suspect it got a leak internally since before it died completely, it dropped the house earth leakage… Read more

a couple of times, but came good after leaving it for a few hours. It hasn't had much use, so I'm disappointed. Previously had a Karcher which did 10 times as much work and still going strong after 10 years. The Typhoon has good pressure for an electric, but that's about it's only good point. The plastics tend to fall off easily, but a bit of liquid nails glues them in place. The winder handle was rickety from new and the screw fell out. Seems to me like a machine built for short term profit not long term use.

The turbo lance that comes with it feels very weak, poor pressure coming through the nozzle, Im not sure what Typhoon did with the testing of the machine but the pressure drop is noticeable, it feels as though the pressure is jammed and not coming through the head correctly.

This is not a one off, I've tested 2 seperate machines and the turbo nozzle behaves the same way. Now if you purchase another turbo head lance with the M22 end the pressure comes out fine.

Typhoon Australia provide a 1 year warranty on this washer, on the box there is a claimed 3840psi effective working pressure, not sure how accurate this is.

It doesn't feel like its this much.

For $499 you can get a Gerni 145.3 which pumps out 140bar or a Stihl RE129 Plus which I also have and have tested and it's awesome, 135 bar , turbo lance feels much more powerful than this machine.

Machine is quite loud too.

Final Verdict : 3/5

Typhoon have missed the mark with this one providing a machine that pumps out high levels of pressure, but that doesnt seem to translate to good cleaning capabilities through the lances. The vario Lance is good but Turbo nozzle is no good, the TE3500 which is the model below looks much better on the youtube video.
