[Name Removed] from sydney was offered a free ride by the uber app and she was extremely happy as she was stuck in the city at 3am, upon taking the free ride she was met with a 75 dollar price that was charged to her account on the next day, this really upset her as she is now 73 dollars in debt and has to take care of 3 children while being a single mother, do better

Absolutely the worst app and website I’ve ever used, sent authentication for credit card , didn’t work, downloaded app still couldn’t get a ride , must loose thousands weekly

The review I’ve attached was from 7 years ago regarding a common scam where uber replied stating they would look into and fix this obvious issue. Three days ago I was scammed out of almost 400 Euro the exact same way. I have tried numerous times to contact Uber support but all I get are completely useless automated replies for days now.

Be VERY careful about using the app! First time use of uber was fine. Next 2 trips:- First:- I booked a shared ride (cheaper), car turned up and I put my luggage in boot (1 suitcase+1 carry-on) and hopped in only to be told to get out when another passenger hopped in WITH NO EXPLANATION! least this time I was told that shared rides are not allowed luggage which I didn't have any noticeable warning of in app. I do remember seeing something to the effect of "1 luggage" but app should warn you big time when booking a shared ride from an airport! Getting a refund from uber is about as easy (and as possible) as getting a refund from the government for your tax bill last year!! Interestingly, in disgust I walked to the taxi stand and got a ride from a polite driver WHICH WAS CHEAPER THAN EITHER of my two (non) "uber" rides!!! Photo shows first uber driving off

In Melbourne Australia we recently had an Uber driver take us the wrong route. A 5-8 minute trip ended up being 45 mins. His map had stopped working and he used my daughter's on her phone to eventually get to our destination. That would have been forgivable had Uber not then charged my account without my permission for the extra journey. They refuse to refund the additional amount charged. Booked an Uber ride 10 times on the 17th Jan from Fremantle and the drivers cancelled 10 times! I have 4.95 star rating so no reason to avoid picking me up, I had to catch a Taxi that cost me $90

appropriate. However, the system allowing a fare to change so substantially after a price has been accepted undermines confidence in Uber’s upfront pricing.

This experience felt more like traditional taxi pricing than what I expect from Uber. If fares can change due to routing decisions, this should be clearly disclosed or prevented.

Faceless garbage company that lacks any custoner service, rosers get charged for cancellations, lateness, etc... drivers can cancel at will to manipulate surcharges and theres nothing anyone can do and no customer service assistamce. See attached the typical accept then cancel assh@le driver!!!

UBER EATS. Took $264.32 in 4x fraudulent unauthorised transactions from my bank account! I paid via PayPal and my back up card was charged. money is returned to me, impacting any other bills I have due, I have no money for groceries!! I also cancelled the "auto" payment in PayPal as that is how uber were able to charge me 4x consecutive times unauthorised for various different amounts, so dodgy!!

I will never use Uber Eats or any Uber franchise again after this UNTRUSTWORTHY and ALARMING experience. This has causes suffering to me in many ways NEVER AGAIN!!

Update - The bank got my money back, no thanks to Uber who claimed someone on another uber account named "Doris" used my card.. not sure how they can narrow that down on their system by searching my card details if so that's a big privacy concern, anyway I don't believe them it's the same nonsense story I've seen other reviews post as UBER WON'T TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY. They didn't even provide any reason why my refund was declined as I responded I didn't know Doris and they just sent the generic email with acknowledgement of extra charges but started no refund is eligible... but why??

Thankfully my bank managed to get my money back, no thanks to Uber who clearly were the ones who robbed me not Doris!

It all happened because I signed up for the uber subscription and it created a merchant token with the bank to allow Uber the organisation to take money from my account. Then coincidentally I get fraudulent charges the next day... Uber is definitely behind this and blaming some "hacker" named Doris. I have heavy 2 factor authorisation using Google authentication and Norton antivirus, there is noway I was hacked or my card details stolen or missused by anyone but Uber who as a company must be desperate to rip off their loyal customers.

I've cancelled my account and vow to never use Uber again! and will be telling all my friends and family the same, DOORDASH is BETTER anyway.

GOODLUCK TO YOUR FUTURE BUSINESS UBER AS YOUR COMPANY DOES NOT REPRESENT AUSTRALIAN VALUES. Uber ripoff their customers, drivers and food suppliers they are the ones with all the profits $$$ time for us to go back to buying direct it might actually lower the cost of food again and provide a better customer experience, who needs a service like yours no thank you! Fifo worker over 10yrs(fly regularly with Uber).Trend coming where price for same distance doubles or triples.Always schedule ride day before.Twice where had to find ride from Didi because Uber not picking my ride up early enough.

Ubers cancel often. And when they dont- the app itself will actually fail you when you order an uber pool and force you to book the higher paying service. On top of this, when you bring this up to uber, their customer service couldn't care less. Will be using taxi's over this abomination of an app

What demand? There are 5 ubers all doing nothing near me and I'm forced to pay more because they are lazy AF, manipulating the price so they make more coin. Want more coin? Work harder you sad genetic Culder sacks. I've been waiting for a ride to accept my job for 30 minutes, and I'm a 5star customer. The drivers Don't care that you are on the side of the road in the middle of the night trying to get home. They are greedy AF

Drivers still accepting jobs and either cancelling after 10 minutes, or accepting jobs and sitting there having lunch or who knows what. Driver was 16 minutes away for over half an hour. Clearly no penalty for these drivers providing DISGUSTING SERVICE and WASTING PAYING CUSTOMERS TIME!

back for me. I have never heard of Uber Direct AU_Pass Sydney. Uber let them charge my card unauthorised without my permission. Is this a scam cooked up by them both (Uber and Uber Direct)? By the way what does this Uber Direct AU_Pass Sydney do to provide services under Uber? I am surprised that a big company like Uber would allow a scam like this to operate under their nose!!!!!!!

 Follow-up  · The bank CBA recovered all the money for me. I conacted Uber Ride and told them to stop letting Uber Direct debiting me every month. Since then it has stopped.

 Follow-up  · They get the details from the Visa card I provided for an Uber Ride; I do not know what is the service for this Uber Direct. I have never heard of them and have never used them. There was no email. The debit just happened every month without authorization. Doris Elfick

 Follow-up  · No, driver did not inform me about tolls. How did the app show the price change? Initialy, it showed the price from A to B but I did not conform just yet. A minite later when I decided to book, it went right up. I quited. 5 minites later it came down a bit then I booked. Uber later explained to me that because there were more people wanted to book that driver. How b.s. is that.

I book up to 20 Ubers each month. Constantly being dropped by Uber drivers to push up fares. Waiting times to book a driver are often out to 10 minutes. In Brisbane last week . quoting times after waiting 5-10 minutes for a car to be allocated then had to wait 10-15 minutes for vehicle to arrive, then get dropped 3 times

 Follow-up  · The service at Sydney airport is no better than Melbourne. It is complete chaos with 20+ minute delays from logging on to Uber and getting allocated a vehicle to being collected at the airport. I am now driving to the airport and parking after last week's debacle.

Uber was cheaper than a taxi so I signed up to take kittens to the AWLQ vet for desexing. Drivers consistently parked in the wrong street for pickup. I had rides cancel because of kittens in a carrier. Even pet uber cancelled only to reappear with a higher price. I just waited for another standard ride. Very low ratings were given to me by some drivers. Not my problem because I closed my account.

We have tried taxis, but have found the local Uber service far more readily available and reliable, the vehicles cleaner, and every aspect of the service more efficient. We use Uber a lot, and have had only a very occasional problem. I simply don’t understand the many negative reviews.

Reasonably priced car rides in clean cars. Much cheaper than taxis. Also know the price of the journey well before the start of the journey. Also know the exact arrival time of the car.

the gatekeepers the so called human reply is recycled generic rubbish so Im guessing aiwith a name. My subsidy card is newish & working fine but suddenly stopped applying to trips on uber. Since an update to app it started playing up & now is just constant. Im not sure it is an app issue as it is occurring on web too so perhaps a system payment conflict issue caused by updates etc. Nonethless cannot get help all avenues exhausted. One said they've passed it onto another department when I selected cannot book trips (that hurts their pockets so as I thought it got a human response). Back to taxis which for me is horrific having to keep any eye on driver so as not to get ripped off (difficult now with no large meters) & the fact they cancel trips claim cant find customer (Im at home not many houses in street) when they seemingly work out it's a shorter trip. Basically Im really stuck at home unable to pick up medication or attend vital medical appointments. What a disgraceful place we find ourselves when businesses get away with mistreating consumers more & more. Especially larger corporations like uber! Imagine when ai (automated ignorance) is only avenue replacing humans????

Trying to book early morning pick ups is near impossible, 1/2 of the time they don’t show up I’m guessing they cancelled, and the fact Ubers systems don’t automatically try and reassign a driver is crazy… the drivers are a mix bag either friendly or not.. most of the time the cars are very clean which is good.

Driver's never follow instructions. If I were not home the package would not have still been there. Very unprofessional and it's never put in a secure location. Either careless or lack of understanding due to language barrier. Uber = 1 star

could send a gift card. The recipient accepted the card but was unable to use it. It can apparently be only used in the country of issue. The card was showing as redeemed despite the fact it actually wasn't used. There is no customer service contact number. The chat options do not have gift cards listed. Took me over 2 hours to find a way to contact them. I explained the situation in a message and 9 hours later they replied by sending me a T&C link, told me they understand how I feel but the gift cards are not refundable. Given Uber is available all over the world, this is very disappointing and the term "redeemed " implies that the card balance has been used, which is misleading. There was no cost incurred to Uber. Very disappointing experience. I will go out of my way to use different platforms from now on.

It's disgusting how uber gets away with paying their drivers less than a coffee and charge customers 6 times what they pay their drivers ...I was horrified when I found out ....
