I purchased 3 app cam sx with solar panel, one solar panel failed and 3 cameras failed with the charge port coming loose inside so can't charge, 2 have been replaced under warranty after first 16 months I won't bother with third...lasted about 2.5 years never buy again, plenty of other better built units around

Absolute garbage cameras. More trouble than they're worth. They'll record small tufts of grass blowing about in the background with Japanese public transport precision, but when you need them to record a local chav peering in through your bedroom window? randomly decided to unlist 2/3 of the cameras, and there's apparently no way to fix it. It's as if they don't exist. Contacted Uniden support who was incredibly unhelpful about it, right up until they decided that they couldn't be bothered responding anymore.

Any slower if you were on a holiday you could fly back and drive home from the airport and still be waiting for the camera to respond. Definitely not user friendly and far from trustworthy in protecting your most valuable asset. Glad I upgraded to Eufy 4K !! Show details

Major battery problem, pls don’t waste your money!! – Only 3 months warranty for camera batteries, bought 4 Uniden cameras, all the batteries couldn’t run properly within 2 months, returned to JB Hifi, but same issues occurred again!

2 year warranty only 13 months old and they reject – We purchased 5 UNIDEN Solo Bullet CCTV's for our property. This was about 13 months ago but 2 year warranty. One stopped working so contacted UNIDEN, initially told us as we didn't buy from one of their distributors (we purchased from a large electrical wholesaler) we had to take it back to them. We did so and they sent to UNIDEN, who refused… Read more

warranty on 2 grounds 1) said the on/off button was pushed in - this unit once mounted has never been touched and 2) that ants had got into unit and destroyed motherboard - they are supposed to be sealed with exception of the charging adaptor that has a seal over it - was still sealed when returned.

This is extremely poor service and warranty is worth nothing - just excuses. My sons electrical contract business has installed at least 50 of these units in various places, but based on this will never install again, and will not recommend.

Now looking at their rating on ProductReview.com.au of 2 understand why. DO NOT BUY these CCTV's.

Won't stay connected even with app open – So after 650 bucks plus sim plus sd card, at first it wouldn't stop giving me alerts. Now a day later, I'm away remotely it won't stay connected even with the app open. Tried emailing support and got a reply saying 'this group doesn't exist ' whatever that means and the call centre is closed. Have to constantly play live stream to get any alerts. Garbage looks like I got burnt big time, thanks abandonden! That's great! Show details

Issues with Myuniden+ app and 4 g camera – Purchased 2X uniden 4g cameras- set up easy (as have others) initially great, and thought great purchase - as we need a remote camera for our property. resets, delete app, reinstall app, even changed 4 g location for full strength coverage, nothing worked - and on both brand new 4 g cameras most app settings can’t be accessed. The cameras are brand new out of the box. Uniden support was ok, but their, answer was to send the cameras to them and then new cameras would be sent back, problem for us, is we live 1500ks away from the property that we need to guard and we leave to go home in a week. So- I’m stuck with cameras that record, but I can’t set settings nor secure iCloud storage if they got damaged by offenders So- basically not happy with my purchase .

prioritise quality. Right down to the quality of the silicone seals and the stainless steel screws. The batteries, the durability.. I have put my "Sentinel Eggs" through hell, dropping them, putting them on poles through the most intense storms and the little buggers have soldiered on and provided me with unbelievable picture quality for years.

Don't listen to these peanuts saying "worst wifi cameras ever" - they aren't a wired system and each are stand-alone - so they really are only as good as your network - and so if they work for me 30m from the router outdoors running on solar panels and not for you, chances are its your network. Besides - without doubt its the Swann battery cameras that are the worst wifi cameras ever. I've trialled and set up for others all of the popular brands except for the Eufy and D-Link ones and in my opinion - dollar for dollar - Uniden are the best. They lose a star for the recording reliability - its not as good as an Arlo's - but in every other measure, for the price, Uniden are hard to beat. Just don't expect battery cameras to fill the shoes of a dedicated wired system. They won't. Not for another 10 years at least.

you cannot lose. Uniden has recenty updated the app (about Aug 2020) and the level of adjustment is fantastic. The camera operation on the app is intuitive and very easy to learn, I was surprised at first that there's no super detailed manuel but believe me you don't need it as it's all second nature stuff to use it. The app allows you to view what's happening outside and if you add a micro SD card to the camera before you install it, the camera records movement when your not looking at the app, these recordings can be viewed or download later. The vision through the app is clear and you can adjust from 720p to 1080p depending on your internet strength or bandwidth. My camera is 12 meters (36 feet) away from my wifi router and with the small ariel that comes with and is mounted on the camera, there's no connection or latency issue. Installing the app on your phone is best because this way you can add your email on the app and it will send you notifications that the camera has detected and stored a recording of some movement on your property, you can go to the app (wether on wifi at home or phone data away from home) and see the video and email it to someone or store it on your phone storage files. On movement detection the camera records very clearly up to 10-12 meters away and the night vision using infrared is also quite clear. The pan and tilt function works quite well and while looking live through the app you can take photos or record or speak with someone outside next to the camera, remember you can also do this miles away over phone data. The sat up is easy but you must follow the steps, it is not complicated but just remember it asks you to create a Uniden accout + password then later during configuration it asks you for your password but they mean your wifi password not the Uniden account password you created earlier. Please do not be discouraged by negative reviews because I'm not technically minded and it was very easy to install the camera, solar panel and app. The solar panel should not be shaded by eaves or trees and since moving mine into direct sunlight the app shows the camera battery is on 100% every day, no need to take it down and recharge the camera. PS I'm so impressed I'm going to install another in a new position! NB when first configuring to wifi be sure to select the 2.4 ghz not 5ghz so if it has a selection during set up with a ' -5G' suffix use the other or 2.4 ghz. NB if your phone ever disconnects from the camera due to shutting down your phone or wifi, you don't need to reconfigure the camera to your wifi, you just neet to use your Uniden account + password on the camera in the app or look for a cog and network setting you may need to re-enter your wifi password on the app to reconnect your phone. Enjoy!

Well, they never stay connected to the WiFi and don't auto reconnect and the batteries have only just lasted the for warranty period before giving in. Awful – I've had a Solo+ which worked ok until I put it a spot exposed to rain and after a few months it got water in it and stopped working. So much for weather proofing. the camera and not be filmed because it doesn't start up until i am out of shot. I hope the local car thieves are good enough to walk slowly so the camera can catch up with them.

b) the reliability of its movement sensor is terrible. In my testing in multiple locations to try and get it to work properly, I could open the door to my car in front of the sensor 5 metres away and not trigger the alarm/recording at times. (Daytime testing)

The claimed 10 metre range on the sensor is rubbish.

c) the wifi connection is dodgy as hell. Often takes several tries to connect to the wifi to get a live feed. (My phone gets 5 bars strong connection at the same location)

Wish I hadn't bought it.

Great ideas, appalling execution – The new App Cam Solo Bullet 2K allows for detection zones, which is a catch up to other brands, but the WIFI stability is terrible. The camera is located only 5m from the outdoor AP with nothing but air between them but it rarely connects. Consequently, the Uniden Cloud service doesn't receive the majority of video clips, so that's useless too. … Read more

Connecting to the camera via the desktop app and the mobile is the same unreliable experience.

This is the fifth Solo camera I've bought. The features are slowly getting better but the WIFI stability is getting MUCH worse.

I wanted it to work but I'm really, really disappointed.

20 Sep 2023 software update – Hi Team You released an update on Sep 20 2023 and since then I can not open the App on my Android (samsung s22) Never had an issue before this. Uninstall and reinstalled - same issue When I click on the App " if the integrity is weak, the app will close automatically " something to that affect appears for 3 seconds. Never had an issue before last Wednesday. Please review the update. Cheers

Return the piece of junk while you can – Uniden customer service never answer any questions beyond what you can read in the simple quick setup guide. The troubleshooting section is very short. I have many of the same problems posted here as sincere questions. I have phoned Uniden 3 times this week. No rectifications. support. They won’t admit in writing here how useless and a time waster the product is, for many customers. There are no answers to all these legitimate questions, or the answer advertises the security cameras short comings, it’s not user friendly, and bugginess.

Expensive subscription tedious unreliable – I can’t stress enough how bad and unreliable these cameras are Once the expensive subscriptions runs out there are pretty much useless. Motion detection is hard to get set correctly. Constant errors and no footage viewable just became the norm. We switched over to ring cameras and they are AWESOME and $5 a month instead of $45. Show details
