Valco Ion for 2

Love this pram – I had originally bought the Valco Double Delight but I found that as my twins were getting bigger, I couldn't push that pram. I bought the Valco Ion 4 Two in Oct08 and my twins were 7 mths and absolutely love it. It was a choice between this and the double Mountain Buggy but I struggled with the latter. This pram has been on many domestic and international flights and I have spent many hours pushing this pram up and down hills in all the major cities in Aust & OS. My twins are now 4 and have only just stopped using this pram. I was able to do my shopping with the large basket and found a large bag which I would hook over the handle for the rest of my shopping. I would absolutely recommend this pram for twins.
Great for Newborns – I bought the Valco Ion 4 2 when I was pregnant with Twins. Was great because it was compact and easy to manouver. However once the twins got to 12 months old I was finding it very difficult to use. The heavy weight of the twins made it impossible to manuover with one hand and because one of the twins was quite tall I was finding that she was not sitting comfortable in it anymore. I would recommend it for newborns but once they get to a certain weight you are going to have to sell it. So for long life out of your pram this is not really the one to choose. easy to manuover with newborns up to 12 months, compact, folded small expensive, wheels jammed occasionally, heavy weighed babies ruined the easy to manuover part, too compact for babies over 12 months
Excellent – Excellent! Would definitely recommend this pram for mothers of twins! This pram was the most compact double pram I could find on the market,as I was determined to find one which I could go shopping with and easily get around with. It looks great and you will definitely get people making positive comments about it!! As a mother of twins, I find this pram easy to move around, it's compact, great when shopping - fits through alot of standard doors, it's easy to open and fold when I'm on my own, weighing 10 kgs when removing the wheels. It's very stable and a good quality made pram. Hard sometimes accessing basket when seats are resting flat.
Bad – probley wouldnt recomend this pram to anyone, it was not worth the money at all, very disappointed in this valco product! but i have pushed my friends valco ion for one child, before and i have nothing bad to say about that it was great easy to push! great size fits through standard doors easily, the pockets on the backs of the seats roll up for airflow, easy to fold, nice padded seats, brilliant hood shades everything! the fabric faded and wore very quickly, the hardest pram iv had to ever push, as there was a 16mths age difference and pram pulled to one side badley! although when the babies were older and there was only a 3kg weight diferance it was still very hard to push! couldnt find a uv mosquito net or rain cover to fit it!
I got this pram for my twin’s before they were born. I thought it was compact and easy to manoeuvre compared to all other side by side double prams. Now after 2 1/2 years I seriously do not recommend this pram!! Originally the Girls didn’t like not being able to see me & By about 10months it became extremely difficult to manoeuvre, I only use it when desperate and I get blisters on my hands when I do. DO NOT GET THIS PRAM!!!
Ring valco !! Mine was the same .. Sent it to get a service and now fantastic .... Well worth doing
try some WD40 to the front and back wheels, will definately make a difference.
Excellent – I love this pram! would recommend to all twin mums. I don't know how it would work with a toddler and newborn but can't see why it wouldn't work just as well. Babies are only 10weeks old and I've already had lots of comments on how great the pram is. Compact, easy to manouver, user friendly (all adjustments are really easy), a cinch to collapse, comes with waterproof and sun covers (these zip onto the hood and clip at the bottom). Easy to fit in individual valco cocoons for when babies are really small - makes it easy to transfer a sleeping baby from the pram indoors.) basket underneath is a little small but all the pros definitely outweigh this.
I found this pram great for the first 12-18 months, but as my twins got heavier it became almost impossible to push. By the time my twins were two I stopped using it altogether, way too hard and they would have only been 10-12 kgs each at this age. Also had some structural defects with storage basket, wire came loose creating a safety hazard for my kids and had to remove it altogether. Valco customer service were extremely unhelpful with the defect. Definitely not worth the price if you ask me!! I would expect a pram of this cost to function for at least 2 years!
