Cheapest 28 inch screen money can buy at the time of its release – I bought this back in 2006 to 2007 and at the time, the money I spent was the cheapest I had ever seen for a monitor this big, in addition to the fact that it came with poor quality speakers and the ability to watch television along with a digital tuner. The cables on the back is a bit annoying to put on, as it has a very narrow gap and getting… Read more
the RGB or DVI cable into alignment is tricky and time consuming.
It does have a HDMI port, that is easier to attach a cable to, but there are downsides in using HDMI as opposed to the other two especially getting the screen resolution adjusted properly on a PC is almost a nightmare.
When I bought this, it catered for everything, any thing from computer games, video and the amount of available screen work space, I would be able to be more efficient.
However, late 2010, the screen died and was out of the warranty already; it was due to the fact that it was unable to turn on properly. I waited until 2011 and went to a computer store that charged me an arm and a leg to replace a circuit board, where I was told it was fried due to high amounts of heat. After its replacement, the monitor has continued to work until it started to play up again. This time, I made sure that I only used the monitor in cooler temperatures, or at least with an air conditioning switched on.
I am sure there are plenty of screens much better now, especially LEDs that use less power and have a higher quality grade screen. Price, Size, Can Watch TV Build Quality, Finicky cabling ports, Expensive Parts; Built-in speakers useless
Good – The monitor is good value for money and is a nice compact size for the desk top. It has dual input so it suits a wide range of computers, the vertical refresh rate is high so the monitor allows good high frame rates, important for game playing. It also has a good level of backlight to the monitor which gives a high contrast ratio and good clarity… Read more
to the screen. Although the monitor has rear mounting holes, the fixed stand is difficult to remove. Widescreen, good contrast and clarity, good response time Power button is hard to press because of its small size
Excellent – The design for this monitor look pretty sleek and professional. As much as we know is made in China but I felt this was pretty well made. Not to mentioned how much LCD monitors have dropped in price lately I was torn in deciding to buy a 19 inch monitor or this model. The monitor feels very rich in colours and I enjoy watching my DVDs on this… Read more
widescreen. There is also an option of extended warranty but I believe by then you would change your monitor anyway. Most importantly it came with DVI input and is bundled with a DVI cable which is good. Simple, clean design, widescreen, fast response none for now
Excellent – Overall this has been a great monitor for the last 3 months. It's hard to beat this monitor in bang for your buck terms. This was an upgrade from a 22inch lcd so the size is amazing. It was a choice between this monitor and the dell 30inch, I just couldn't justify paying an extra $1000+ for an extra 2.5inches of screen. Still without seeing the… Read more
dell 30inch in action i would consider it the superior monitor over the viewsonic but it should be for double the price!. I play a lot of FPS games like Call of duty 4 etc.. and have to say it's awsome for games. All in all i would highly recommend this monitor to gamers or anyone that is after a large quality lcd monitor, if you can get your hands on one. Great picture quality, rich colours and sharp picture, HDMI (HDCP) input. Bang for buck. True HD resolution (1920x1200) 3 year onsite pickup warranty. Could look less like a tv and more like a monitor. Inbuilt speakers are pretty useless, but does anyone use inbuilt lcd speakers?
