Vintage Design Homewares Cover Set Queen

VERY disappointed - NOT pre-washed – I was so happy when I received the two quilt cover sets, bought from Brosa. Gorgeous colour, 100% cotton, lovely soft velvet, just what I was looking for. I unpacket it and was already a bit scheptical as I saw the fabric they used as 'lining' on the under side of the quilt cover and pillow cases, as it is very thin cotton percale. I would describe as translucent, not quite muslin, but not the thread count I expected, which I checked before I bought it. Obviouly the TC for the velvet is higher, but the difference between the two fabrics is huge, see photo against light. I washed it gently according to the instructions before use, just warm - not hot water. Clearly the fabric has not been pre-washed before sewing, because the entire quilt and one pillow case pulls against the sew, warping the casing. Anyone that works with natural fibers, such as cotton, would know these NEED to be pre-washed before sewing to avoid pulling as they shrink. In addition to the low TC and shrinking I also found stains on the lining fabric. For a $150 quilt, simply not acceptable. In fact, manufacturers should assume responsibility for prodducing rubbish and polluting our planet. Will be returning and never buying Vintage Designs again.
