Vintec 50 Bottle V40SG2 Range Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi I have A Vintech V40SG2ES3 50 bottle dual zone fridge. My issue is that the top shelf will not cool below 10/11. I have cleaned and tested sensors etc all to no avail. Can I reboot this things memory it appears a bit unstable. Regards Mike Burke mikeburke5054@gmail.com
Hi Mike, I had problems with temperature as well It could be a tiny gas leak however Vintec won’t fix it they will try to resell you a new fridge after an expensive and useless outcall Google someone who fix fridges they should be able to take care of it, it worked with me and I wish you luck with that
Thanks DeanSyd It would be great if the company/suppliers of these RollsRoyce Vintech chillers would support enquiries with some sort of support. I don't want a new one as bottom zone maintains 12 degrees as it should. Top zone currently sits on 10/11. Regards Mike
Hi all , i repair fridges and have an Al - d40dg2e Two door , twin cool fridge that only cools one side . I have replaced a capillary and a refrigerant two way diverter , but still only cools one coil ? Could someone explain how this valve works . Pete ...
I’m looking to replace the digital blue light for the number reading on the left side which is for the upper area
Won’t turn on
Hi, I have a v40sge wine fridge which has stopped cooling (stays around 22 which is closer to room temperature - the 'run' light also no longer lights up). I have read many reports of these being faulty after 3 years usage (kept indoors in a shaded area, Melbourne). My Samsung fridge is into its 14th year and hasn't skipped a beat!
What is the warranty/repair/replacement options?
Hi Bob, cost me $200 to get them to come out and tell me not worth repairing. Problem was gas leaked. They offered me a discount voucher to go another Vintec. Decided to buy Australian made Grand cru- same size.
Hi
We would like the opportunity to discuss the concerns you have raised. Can you please email me your contact details to customercare@vintec.com.au with ticket reference 4704583?
We look forward to hearing from you soon.

I had exactly the same issue. Sat at 20 deg, no cooling at all. Electrolux service guy come out, took 5 seconds to say it's not worth fixing. easiest call out fee he's ever earned (although I suspect he earns this quite a lot from all the similar issues happening).
Electrolux has offered the me opportunity to purchase another of their fridges. Existential question - should a fridge used to store wine as it ages last long enough for wine to age?
How is your Grand Cru going?
Hi, my fridge had started freezing the wine, the temperature has changed to 50 and when I change it, it reverts back to 50. Kylie

I have a Vintec SG190 which appears to be leaking. I have checked the tray it is dry and the condensation pipe is inside the tray. Any ideas what could be the issue.

I have a V40SG2E, and there is a lot of condensation between the double glazed glass panels. How do I get rid of this?
Hi Kurt, Sorry I cannot help. I have not had this problem.
my vintec is no longer cooling. was working perfectly until I switched it off and moved to a new location. the compressor bowl is very hot but will not cool below room temperature. how easy is it to check if gas is needed as per some other questions in recent forums.
How old is your Vintec? Mine gave up the ghost after just 2 years. Disputed this issue with Electrolux and just paid for a service re-gas. They would not replace.
About 5-6 years old this is the first time switched off and would not start cooling again
My fridge keeps cooling to -20......... no matter what I do with the thermostats it just runs flat out all the time freezing everything?
Red wine tepature to high
Hi I have a Vintec V40BVC Beer fridge, just over 2 years old and it not not cool lower than 11degrees.
It appears these Vintec fridges look great and perform poorly.
Any advise???
Me too. Mine isn’t getting below 18C
Sorry to hear this. Read the reviews above. It appears that Vintex wine fridges have a life expectancy a little below 3 years old, so your fridge is ready for the dump. So is mine and there is no service unless you want to shell out more than the value of your fridge.
Ring Vintec and complain they have been taken over by Electrlux Mine was out of warranty l paid for a service call and all Up total $500 Electrolux replaced with a new one works really well The older ones have a common fault they loose their gas
good luck
Hi, we are trying to change the shelves, but can’t get them out, no matter how we tilt them, etc. It seems they are getting stuck with the notch in the groove.. Any help?
I tried mine and there is a notch in the way but I think I can feel the head of a screw so maybe you can unscrew the notch?
Hi I have a Vinyec V155SG”e”-ss it’s not cooling enough to keep the wine and beer cold. They are chilled at best. It doesn’t matter what we set the temperature at it never drops. Please help VINTEC
Good Luck I will never buy another Vintec - nothing but trouble. I had our new one replaced twice and have had several troubles since. Technicians that service them are as rare as hens teeth. I think Electrolux have bought them out and their servicing information is out of date.
Please advise how I stop my fridge from increasing its temperature. I set it on 12 and then it goes to 22 - this happened when I first purchased it!!
Every time this has happened to mine I have had to get a technician out. It happened when mine was new too and it had to be replaced twice. Good Luck.
Fridge temperature will not drop below 20 degrees - even when left closed for days at a time.
seems to be continually 'running'
just discovered sticky light brown residue on middle shelf.
What is the problem?
Only owned it for 2 - 3 years and has not worked properly for about 4 months.
I had a similar experience with my Vintec. It's highly likely to be a coolant leak. Vintec's warranty is only two years so it's unlikely they will repair it for free. I suggest unplugging the unit and using it as a temporary storage area for wine.
Hi,
I have got a vintec V150 SG2E and the top half isn't cooling below 27 yet the bottom half is working perfectingly. What could be wrong with it? We have had zero issues with this unit until now. It is at least 8 years old.
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Warren, I really don't know, some reviews have suggested a gas leak.
I've decided not to repair mine and put the money towards a different brand.
Sorry I'm not much help..K
Hey everyone,
I've recently bought a Vintec V40SG2e second hand on Gumtree and I've noticed on occasion quite loud noise coming from the motor. The cooling is fine and seems to maintain temperature in the two zones, however the loud sound can all of a sudden start. It's as loud as a power drill and can wake up my partner and i in the middle of the night. It sounds as though the motor is struggling and just wanted to know if anyone else here has encountered a similar problem and next steps on getting it fixed?
Hi, I have the exact problem you describe. Have you found a resolution yet?
our fridge internal temp will not go below 24 and the outside panel to the right of the door get very cold, so much so condensation forms. Any idea what the issue is?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We have ditched the vintec for a new unit purchased from Costco. Cheaper than repairing the Vintec. Sounds like the condenser has cracked and only the outside cabinet is cooling. Don't pay $170 to find out that it's going to cost *$500 + to fix you can get another brand for same price.
I purchased a V40SG2e ss in Oct 2011. It has failed already. Been fine until now. The temp will not set to desired level and reverts to 21 and stays there. It is of no use. Ideas? Cheers
I think you will find the coil has cracked, they are made of aluminium and not copper, the cost of repair I was quoted was $750. So I put the money towards a new "Delonge" I have not installed this in the "built in" position as there is not enough air circulating and this makes the compressor work harder, thus early failure.
I donated the old fridge to a young bloke and his mate, a refrigeration tech, fixed it quite cheaply.

I have a new 30 bottle unit. The top and sides at top get quite hot when I added 17 bottles. I assume that will settle once the wine moves to the cabinet temperature but wanted reassurance that it is 'as expected.'
My Vintec died, and I purchased a delonghi, I could not put more than four bottles in at a time, let them cool and add another four I think my Vintec had to work too hard to keep the temp correct. You need lots of air around them and preferably a cool room.
Otherwise the compressor runs all the time, I have put pads under the feet to give it more air under, and more clearance at the back
Hi Marco, Thank you for submitting your question, and a good one at that. All V30 models in the Vintec range are freestanding and need an absolute minimum clearance of 200 mm on both sides and top of the unit and a 30mm gap between the back of the unit and the wall to allow for ventilation. This is because the V30 models have a heat evacuation membrane embedded in both sides and the top in order to deal with heat created in the process of cooling the interior of the cabinet. This being said, it is perfectly normal to feel the sides heat up when the compressor is running.
Once the cabinet reaches the desired temperature internally the exterior will cool down & you will only have mild heat when the compressor cycles.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us at ‘salesandservice@vintec.com.au’ or call on 1800 771 776.
Cheers,
Tony H.
