Vulli Sophie The Giraffe

Questionable safety – Bought 1 Sophie Giraffe for teething, didn't read the instructions and cleaned it in a steriliser. The colour descaled and it became porous with a water sound inside. Bought a 2nd one, washed it in hot water as it was absolutely covered in baby spit, the water got inside. A mate showed us theirs cut in half from the same problem and it was filled… Read more
with mould! Terribly unsafe for kids health and lungs! It is not practical to always wipe an uneven surface down with antiseptic wipes to clean it, you should be able to at least rinse it in water. Have another teething ring now and our bub is happy with it, loves it.
Sophie The Giraffe – Sophie... The Hype built you up and you just couldn't perform to those expectations. This is more of a novel squeaky toy. If you have dogs that like squeakers then this isn't recommended. We found that by the time our son could get any use out of Sophie he was beyond the teething stage. Sophie wore and broke around the neck. It's not easy to clean… Read more
and it's one of those toys that become a breeding ground for mould. We got more use out of the Sophie teething ring.
The worst teether – I really can’t get what is the fuss about this giraffe. It’s super pricy compared to other teether and my baby doesn’t like it at all, I keep offering it to her but she much prefers other cheaper teether she has. Also she got really yuk inside after I washed her few times under the tap, the sqeeker stopped working. The head is way too big to get to baby’s mouth. Do not recommend. Show details
Absolutely loved it! – Was skeptical at first buying it because of the price but it was worth it! My son loved it, the material is really made of high quality. He used it from 4 til 10months. Will recommend it to everyone. After a few months of usage the color will eventually fade but apart from that, never had an issue!
Sophie the saviour! – Oh sophie honey, you are so wonderful. Without you my daughter would of had a horrible time teething. She loves you 24/7, I introduced her to you when she was just 2mths old and she is nearly 2yrs old now and still loves you. I just wish you were able to go swimming in the bath with her without getting yukky inside. But thank you, we still love you!
Life (and finger) saver! – When I was pregnant I thought spending $30 on a silly giraffe toy was ludicrous! That was until my 4 month old started teething. All the other teething toys are either to hard or too soft and are made of horrid plastic. My bubs teether of choice was always a finger. That was until I caved in and bought Sophie. Bub LOVED it instantly! Barely puts… Read more
it down. Goes to town nawing on the legs and face and gives our poor fingers a much needed break. I read that it picks up lots of dust but in my experience it hasn't been an issue. It sits on a blanket most of the time but doesn't get fluff on it. I think a quick rinse off would do the trick if it did though.
Best teething toy on the market! – From the very first sign of teething, Sophie the giraffe has been a must in our house! We were gifted one early which we sadly lost at the shops! No other teething toys seemed to do the trick and I went out and bought a new one the very next day. Amazing (not to mention super cute!)
Stylish yes efficient teething toy – We've been inlove with Sophie ever since Kourtney Kardashian posted a photo of her. We finally bought one and couldn't be happier. Love the feel of Sophie and the look. The squeaker is just adorable and my son loves it. Excellent baby shower gift and well loved toy. Highly Recommend to anyone
Little one got this for Easter and LOVES it ! – My little boy got a Sophie Teether toy for Easter and he loves it so much. He cries when he drops it in the car and wants to carry it everywhere - so cute - Sophie is his new best friend. We bought from [weblink removed] and got it in two days and it was even gift wrapped. Now I will have to buy him a Sophie friend - was thinking of the FanFan… Read more
Teether or the soft teething ring. My daughter loved her Sophie as well it was given to me at my baby shower - yeo it is so true like they say - it will be used and loved :)
Baby loves this Giraffe – Baby got this as a Christmas present. From the get up and go, she would never get enough of it, always putting it in her mouth, chewing and playing with it. Very pricey toy though, but we got it as a present, which was very lucky of us. Water seems to get into the toy due to the hole at the back, nothing major, just annoying. Other than that, i think its a awesome product.
Easy grip – Nicely designed so the baby can hold this with his little hands. My baby likes to chew on a different part of it each time he has it. But since its made from silicone, it's a dust magnet. Wish it comes with a little plug to cover the hole so I can soak it in a hot soapy water like I do with other stuff that goes into his mouth
Fav chew toy, we play with Sofie every day! – My chihuahua just loves Sofie!..He throws her around makes he squeak and droops at my feet for me to play fetch. I didn't know Sofie was a special teething aid for babies, until a friend came over and remarked "your dog has a Sofie!!?". I said yes it's his second, as he found another on an afternoon walk. The first has UV damage from laying in… Read more
the sun, evidence of the natural rubber compounds. After reading about Sofie's special properties I admit to giving her a wash and having a little chew myself. The best chew toy of all time, yes.
She loves Sophie – This one is a bit expensive, but it has been a favourite! The natural rubber has a different texture than silicone, and preferred by my baby. She likes to chew on Sophie's ears. I also bought the one with the ring handle, but it was rejected over the original Sophie. I think it was holding the legs that she missed.

We love sophie – My son had the Sophie with the handle and we have passed it onto my daughter. We then purchased the full size Sophie and my daughter can't get enough. It's the only toy she can grab onto and really shove it in her mouth (4 months) worth every cent to see my babies happy.
Very expensive – I bought this because all the girls at mothers group raved about it. It actually feels very flimsy, hollow and cheap! I gave it to my daughter who put it straight in her mouth, made a face and spat it out!! I'm going to have to spend the next few weeks offering it to her as there is no way I'm allowing her not to use it after paying 32$ It's worth about 5-10$!
We Love Sophie! – My daughter has 2 Sophie's, the one with the handle and the full body one. She loves both and we often have to take them with us when we go out. Excellent teether toy, and also just a great toy in general. Easy clean, soft rubbery feel. Baby just loves Sophie! Perfect size for her to hold and perfect sized legs and face for her to suck on.
What a waste of money – I bought this from baby bunting because it was on sale. If it wasn't I wouldn't have even considered it but I assumed all the positive reviews made up for the ridiculous price. I was wrong. The material seems to pick up all the fluff, hair and dirt when it's been cleaned and dried properly. As a teething toy I don't recommend it. As a display sure.
Every baby needs more than one – I love Sophie, all of my grandchildren have more than one. They come as teething rings or toys and more. They are so easy to clean, cute and they are lovely and soft for babies gums. They are a family favorite and we are looking forward to buying more for our future grandchildren :)
Great toy – I love this toy. I have bought it for both of my boys when they were babies. They loved chewing on them and enjoyed the noise that it makes. I have bought her as a gift for friends and family, it's a very sturdy toy and easy to wash and clean. Every Child should have a Sophie!
Best teething toy so far – My daughter is 4 months old and can hardly grasp her normal teethers, I saw Sophie on ebay and did my research. I got Sophie a week later and my daughter has a clear new favourite toy. She can hold Sophie easily, the rubber is soft "like mum's skin", she loves the squeak and she obviously loves the consistency of the rubber because she refuses all… Read more
other teethers now.
Like some say, the price is a bit much for a teether but it was worth every cent.
Over rated – Everyone raves about this product but I find it to be over rated. Its no better than any other teether and its way more expensive. When you wash it the sqeeker doesnt work well after that. My baby does like chewing on the legs but he prefers other teethers more
The favourite – We have multiple teething toys yet this is the clear favourite. I wish it weren't as expensive so I could get a second one for the car!

A clear favourite – Sophie the Giraffe is a favourite toy in our house. I was initially a bit put off by the price as it's quite expensive, but it's definitely worth the money! Great for teething. In fact my baby is chewing on it as i'm typing!
Great first toy for baby – I didn't get this for my first child, but did for my second. He loves it. He sucks on it and grabs on it when he can. He trys to put the head in his mouth as well. The fact that is' rubbery and flexible is good to wash and play with. The only problem I have found is that when my son sucks on the legs, he sometimes put its in too much and I can… Read more
hear him gagging. It's rubbery and flexible, well made. Babies can gag on the legs if they suck on it too far
Bub loves his Sophie – Bub absolutely loves her. He has been teething on and off for a few months but he stops whinging as soon as I give him Sophie to chew on. She's soft and squishy and her legs make it easy for him to hold and chew. I thought it was a little expensive but now that I have one it is worth the money. Soft for chewing, offers good teething relief. Little expensive but so worth it.
Sophie la cher – Great teething toy & looks great but for $30-$35 your money is probably better spent elsewhere. After a month the squeaker stopped working (no I didn't submerge it in water), the spots started rubbing off making it look years old not weeks and it doesn't hold my child's interest any longer than their other teething toys. Looks good Expensive & didn't last
We love Sophie! – My 6 month old son loves Sophie. He gets excited when you show her to him or if he hears her squeak. Great how he can chew on various parts of her-legs,nose,ears etc.. to relieve his teething pain. Soft and natural. Easy for him to hold. Definitely a favourite toy and added bonus that she helps with teething. We bought a Sophie harness with ours so she doesn't get lost off the pram.
Soothes the gums – Ah teething - not fun for both babies and mums!! After purchasing many different types of teethers, we could not find one that our daughter would enjoy chewing... until we got Sophie the Giraffe! it's made of natural rubber, so it's fairly soft on the gums, yet it does the trick. My daughter doesn't want to put it down when she has her hands on… Read more
it! So very happy with it. Natural rubber, soothing The marks on the giraffe rub off after repeated use - I doubt they will be toxic though!
Best Baby Gift Ever! – Created in France in 1961, this 100% natural latex rubber teething toy is my sons favourite. It can be grasped easily with little hands and also squeaks when squeezed. My son started sucking on the soft nose, then onto the backside, once he started teething he moved onto the harder feet. Best gift we received and have since given 2 to other… Read more
expecting mums, we paid approx $30. -lightweight - useful from 2mths old - does not require batteries - easy for babies to hold -like all squeaky toys dont submerge in water it wont squeak properly until dried out!
sophie rocks – sophie the giraffe makes a great baby shower or first christmas present. my baby could easily hold her from 3.5 months, could easily put it in her mouth and chew on it and still loves it at 7 months. such a great gift for the parent who has everything or a great gift to buy your baby to chew on, my lil one loves chewing on the ears so much that i… Read more
think she will chew right through it soon. toxic free, really cute, easy to clean. baby loves it expensive, can easily fall out of pram and lose it if little one happens to drop it
We love Sophie! – I purchased Sophie prior to my son teething and used her for tummy time to start with, now that he is teething Sophie comes everywhere with us. Sophie has some great soft angles that my bub really loves to rub against his sore gums & I am comforted knowing that she is handmade with non toxic materials, so no nasty chemicals. Sophie is also very… Read more
easy to clean (I throw her in with my washing up) which is very handy given the volume of drool that she sees on a daily basis.
Sophie has a squeak when she is squeezed, which will delight & surprise my son everytime. We will give her a squeeze as a bit of distraction therapy when we are getting a cranky baby whilst out & about, she never fails to get a smile!
Initially I was concerned spending $30+ for a teether, but she is used everyday and worth every cent. Non toxic, safe, easy to clean & she has great angles (her legs & head) to help with those sore teeth. She is a little expensive - but overall the cost is worth it for a happy baby.
Overpriced "glorified dog toy" – My 10 month old will chew on just about anything while teething EXCEPT this giraffe. When he does play with it he seems to enjoy it but no more or less than any of his other toys and teething items. My husband has branded it an "overpriced glorified dog toy" and I tend to agree with him. When he does use it he can chew on the head, body and… Read more
legs so he can get some good angles into his mouth depenidng on where his teeth are coming. But mostly it is just cast aside in favour of other things. Knowing that is made with safe materials and when he does want to chew on it there is lots of ways for him to do so. It's to expensive for something that there is a good chance babies aren't going to be interested in more than a normal, boring old teething ring
