Vuly Slam Pro Portable Basketball Hoop

A rock-solid portable rim – In a family of basketballers, we needed a decent outdoor ring that could move house with us. While Vuly is best known for its trampolines (we have one of those too and it's great!), the Slam Pro is an excellent portable ring. The painted and perforated metal backboard make it very robust so it does not crack and warp like cheaper PVC hoops. The small holes also allow the Slam Pro to withstand strong winds without falling over. It's been outside during some pretty mean storms with winds over 100kmh and stood strong. Assembly was easy and the instructions were clear. Paint and plastic have stood the test of being outside in the weather without any damage. The orange base doesn't get in the way too much and the shape means it rebounds missed shots fairly well compared to others. Our rim has been dunked on hundreds of times and is perfectly stable. The rim itself did not cause any hand injuries, though I recommend being careful where you land due to the base. It's not intrusive during normal (sensible) use. Definitely recommended.

Not worth the money over other systems – Have had Spalding systems in the past and was looking at one before coming across this system. The Vuly system was $300-400 more, but the hype around the quality of the make and the stability got me in. Package arrived and was missing two key bolts for construction. Vuly sales wanted a warranty claim process to be followed which would take sometime. Found some random M8 and M10 bolts myself in the garage. Have submitted a claim for the original parts but time will tell. To top off the experience, the supplied basketball goes flat over 24hrs. Is the system OK, yes, is it better than Spalding and worth $300-400 more and any more stable; no. Still made in [Content Removed] so they still have the same quality control issues as any manufacturer who 'designs in Australia/USA' then offshores the construction.
