Having owned Westinghouse appliances before I was excited to receive this fridge / freezer. However the recyclable door lining material is thin and fragile. It's ripped / cracked once, and - after a long wait - Westinghouse replaced the door. Now it's happened again in the same way, and I'm awaiting another warranty repair. Don't know what's… Read more

happened to Westinghouse's quality of late but I won't make the mistake of buying another of their appliances.

Its a decent size fridge/freezer combo . It runs quiet and it is cold- true to temp. Im happy with my purchase(on sale price) Id give it 5 stars but a few points of interest to note- It really needs an extra shelf in both fridge and freezer because so much space is potentially being wasted by huge gaps between the shelves they do provide. The… Read more

extra shelves are currently unavailable and equates to an extra $80 for both in anycase so factor this in. Also - its depth unwrapped out of the packaging only just made it through a standard doorway and I had to unscrew the handle of my door- be mindful if that cos I didnt think about that when i bought it. The iceboxes Oh boy where do i start… the double one in theory is great but im sure bursterds incorporated must of designed it. Good luck getting the ice out the trays, they are meant to drop out when you twist it but i can assure you they do not. Then pulling it apart to get em out is another chore- so that, imo , is not a useful addition. The one in the door is ok-ish.. would had rathered another shelf though after the wrestle with the ice making gadgets. All in all happy with purchase and after i obtain the extra shelves then yes this will be my perfect fridge.

Absolute pos – Utter and complete rubbish. Rebranded tcl/haier Chinese fridge with a Westinghouse sticker on it. Makes loud whining and buzzing sounds and the freezer is completely covered in ice. Do not buy for any reason. This is my 3rd replacement fridge and all Westinghouse Electrolux fridges are just as bad. Issues: 1. Arrived from Electrolux with a dent.… Read more

Advised delivery guys and was ignored 2. Ice maker is a joke and a gimmick 3. Plastics are cheap and thin 4. Freezer shelves not adjustable and wastes alot of space 5. Vege crispers are poorly designed so dirt and debris are trapped and cannot be cleaned 6. Freezer freezes up with ice 7. Freezer not cold on warmer days 8. Touchpad works only sometimes 9.fridge shakes when closing doors 10. Bins are difficult to remove and refit 11. Unfathomable – Not even a month old freezer continues to defrost even after being repaired, once you think it’s fine and fill the freezer back up with food, you open it to find everything thawed out, not even exaggerating. Wish I had read the reviews considering so many other people are having the same issues. If Westinghouse insist on keeping this product on… Read more

the market they should at least consider compensating for our continued losses on wasted food. You should be able to purchase something brand new for this price and not have to worry about this sort of thing even happening. Do not buy.

The fridge is good. Dealing with Westinghouse, bad – This is a nice looking fridge. Recessed handles, efficient ice making, quiet, and inexpensive. The only downside is the lack of shelves. I had to buy an extra shelf for both fridge and freezer. This took hours, because Westinghouse is incredibly hard to deal with. I had to create an account with them just to have them email me the links to… Read more

spare parts. And I had to create another account (with complicated password) just to buy extra shelves. In the end I gave up and negotiated extra shelves with the retailer (Harvey Norman).

There also really ought to be an extra shelf on both fridge and freezer doors. And it would be nice if there was an option for an extra crisper drawer.

All things considered (with the extra shelves) this is an good value fridge. I hope Westinghouse make these minor additions to their next model.

FRIDGE NOT COLD - DO NOT BUY – The fridge is set at 3 degrees but it's not cold. Food is going mouldy and has to be thrown out. Not good with the cost of living. Show details

Westinghouse downgrades fridge features and spares supply – I wish I'd had time to read these reviews before I had to urgently buy a replacement fridge for my 15 year old Westinghouse 700L fridge. Fridge failed. Discovered while items still frozen. No time to research offerings, so, based on long life of the fridge, I bought the similar WSE6630SA Westinghouse fridge because it could be delivered next day.… Read more

Well - looks nice, but talk about obvious quality and feature reductions. Yes. The new style ice maker is a joke compared to my 15 year old one. The shelves are not adjustable. No dairy compartment. I'm not convinced the shelves will last as they are held in position at the front by two sliding pins. Just doesn't look right compared to solid sliding slots that hold the shelves along the entire depth. The cute medicine lockable tray is gone. THE EGG TRAY is gone. But worse. The amazing under shelf 5-bottle wine rack is gone. Flexible shelf arrangement has been almost entirely designed out. And if that isn't bad enough, Electrolux don't have any spare internals for this fridge. They have kept promising a freezer shelf and freezer door bin (to replace the useless ice maker), but arrival date keeps getting pushed back. Early in the month, they were days away. Today they are 4-6 weeks away. Basically, I doubt they have any on order. The best I've been able to do is find a 3-bottle under shelf wine rack and an undershelf dairy drawer from after market non-OEM suppliers. Definitely won't find generic shelves and door bins for this fridge as the slide rails don't go the full depth of the fridge, instead using, as mentioned, the two locking pins at the front of the shelves. This situation is really a shame from a once reasonable supplier. I don't know how Electrolux can hold its head up with this horrendous customer service.

Westinghouse Fridge WSE6630SA (624L) Update 2024 – Following my previous review of the Westinghouse Fridge WSE6630SA (624L) posted in 2023 re the continuous ice build up behind the bottom freezer bin (fresh seal crispers) whereby ice continues to form to the point where you cannot close the freezer storage bin requiring the ice removal. See photos attached which were taken on 31st Jan 2024. … Read more

Shortly after posting the review I was contacted by Westinghouse who provided a credit at Harvey Norman the retailer I purchased the Westinghouse fridge from. I have ordered a new fridge which is not a Westinghouse. Thanks to Westinghouse for their assistance to provide a credit note to purchase a new fridge. Still awaiting for the new Samsung fridge to arrive and continuing to scrape out the ice formation at the bottom of the Westinghouse Fridge WSE6630SA (624L).

Fail after 12 months. DO NOT BUY – I bought this fridge as I thought westinghouse had a good reputation but was I wrong. I have had the fridge for 12 months and the freezer stopped working, turns out it's a hardware fault. I live in Sunbury VIC and it took a week to get a tech to investigate the fault and then told it'll be another week to get the part in. Numerous calls to… Read more

westinghouse /Electrolux regarding getting this fixed quicker was no option and couldn't even speak to a manger about this. 2 weeks to resolve a issue is poor to say the least. For a freezer to fail just on 12 months is poor and the customer service is even worse. Requested the item to be replaced and was told that's not a option. So I'm still waiting to get this resolved. Ill never buy a crap product again from these brands. Do not buy

A lot better than previous models – Had a good look around at Models over the last few years. My previous Fridge lasted 20 years, but the compressor was dying for about 3 years. In getting a decent replacement, I looked at fitment - exterior size, design for purpose - functions and economy -running cost. The model WSE6630 comes in Black - BA, White -WA, Silver - SA. My model is… Read more

Silver Side by Side design, Fridge side wider than Freezer. Internal Capacity - Fridge = 407L Freezer = 217L 4.5-Star Energy Rating. Flat Facing Doors with integrated handle design. No protrusions. Accurate Dimensions - H=1780 W=911 D=746 (allow 10 mm top and sides and 30 mm at rear of unit)

Surprisingly solid build. Sliver is Brushed Stainless Steel doors only with Powder coated Matching Silver on body. Very deep doors' with hard plastic shelving. Holds a decent amount of weight without warping. A lot of stuff can be put on doors instead of shelves. Same size on Freezer doors helps with Pastry sheets and boxed item smalls, or large bags of frozen chips. The shelves are durable materials, have aluminium framed, spills lipped - no dribble/drips, clear shelf glass you see through to objects behind on lower shelves. Visually very efficient as things don't get lost or hidden in this unit like other deep shelf designs. Very good LED lighting. You can buy extra shelves, but we haven't seen a need for this, as the door units get rid of jars/bottles/packet items off shelves altogether. Fridge and Freezer have x2 draws at base. The fridge has very roomy crisper drawers, separating veggies from fruit. Freezer has frost free draws for storage of long life items and eliminates freezer burn with fish and chicken stored in these drawers.

The freezer has a built-in ice drawer on the door. Small non-intrusive. This unit does NOT have a water storage/dispensing system (thankfully). The door shelves are wide enough to hold a full 6L Brita Filter Jug (no problem with weight). I can take this huge jug of filtered water to the table or the pool. A note on this - ice water is a top priority in hotter climates, but functionality is how you live and use your home. I eliminated fixed filtered water systems many years ago, even the sink filter is removed as it is a waste of money in most cases. The exception is if you are running a business which serves a lot of filtered water, you may break even in 5 years of constant use. They are not flexible enough for a family home. The freezer also comes with a separate ice maker, but you won't use this. We store and use store bought cheap flexible freezer trays which make small ice cubes when we need them. The plastic icebox thing has already seen the trash can, as we don't keep junk floating amidst useful items.

Electronic controls on front of this fridge -standard default setup Fridge = 5 degrees Celsius, Freezer = -18 degrees Celsius. Highly efficient unit 4.5 Stars energy rating has door alarms on both fridge and freezer separate, ajar or not properly sealed the unit will ping bell every minute it is left open. This unit also has an efficiency mode - Away or holiday setting, which helps to reduce energy waste as doors are not opened during this period. Note that opening a door by accident will not turn off this mode.

Some people say this is a noisy fridge. I don't agree compared to older models we have owned. I did a decibel test with a DB Sound meter and the highest reading was 32dB, it is usually 20-22dB. That's very quiet in regard the compressor has 3 modes and the cracking sound is defrosted at 32dB. This function may only occur twice a day in summer and only for a few minutes.

Some additional features we thought were good if you use this unit in a holiday let situation - There is also a super freeze function which runs the compressor on the freezer for 24 hours or until it reaches -28C. Quick chill mode is similar but brings the fridge temperature to 2C. These functions are not constant. The main temperature setting for fridge and freezer are able to be manually set to within their operating ranges. For this, the Freezer is -15C to -23C and the fridge is 8C to 2C.

Energy rating for this unit is accurate -per year is 405 kWh = $100.44aud. (Excludes fridge bought price as that will vary.) We spent $1460.00aud delivered and installed.

Our delivery guys were excellent. They also explained something very important - you never ever plug and turn on electricity to your fridge/freezer until it has settled for at least 2.5-3 hours after delivery. This is because movement sloshes the coolant fluid around, and it can get into the cooling section where the gas needs to flow. Read about how compressors work and judge what might happen if you just ignore this advice. Basically the answer is you will damage your new fridge/freezer and lower its life expectancy considerably by in some cases half life. This fridge is estimated to last 15–17 years with proper care and general use.

The doors on this fridge/freezer have a lock mode. This is both a reminder and a seal to tell you to be more efficient with door opening use. The seal is harder to break with the lock function on. This is on for 30 seconds after the door is closed each time. But we have learnt to behave a little differently with using this unit. It's teaching us to be more energy efficient than the older model we had.

The size fitting of this fridge is shorter than many Side by sides, in the same category. We needed a fitment of no more than, H-1790 mm. One great thing in this design is that it is a flat recess fridge which requires a minimum airspace around the fridge, which is a must to adhere to, as it is very important for ventilating the unit in operation and looking after the compressor components properly, as bad fitting will overheat your unit motor especially in hot weather and cause it to misfunction in mode to cool itself. This will reduce your energy rating to probably 3.5 and electricity use will be much higher per year. Read some basic electrical white goods service records to see why units fail. It is less the unit, more the user and the space of fitment.

The finish on this unit is very good. We are pleased with how well it has performed and like the visual appeal of large shelves which don't get stuff jammed or hidden. We use a lot of containers for fridge storage, and the design has given us more space to stack boxes and free up other shelves for fresh items. Furthermore, we like cooking. Our fridge is a very important tool in keeping things ready, prepped. We chose a Side by Side because when a door is open you see everything more easily as it is like a tall bookshelf which is easier to arrange spaces, than 2 or 3 wider shelves in a French or Single Door unit where you end up shuffling stuff around.
