Thanks to thread contributers :-) – My Westinghouse started to fail to ignite or would not reignite after thermostat kicked in during the cooking cycle. Thanks to info regarding Ignition Management Board (the ignition module) I matched my problem to your solution. Got the part from WA Appliance Parts Joondalup ($180) and fitted it myself this morning. :-) Many Thanks! Show details
Very happy with this oven – As I've unfortunately had to write a bad review about a kitchen appliance, I thought I should write some good reviews about ones we're happy with, and this is one. We've found this to be a terrific oven, cooks well, and especially love the separate grill. When it was delivered (a bit over five years ago), there was a scratch on the grill tray and this was replaced within days and with no fuss. Show details
Service shockef – Just after the warranty ran out the oven stopped working, the burner on the cooktop that we purchased with it stopped working with the main burner stopping a number of times, The door keeps comming loose and the rubber seal is not that good I wish we purchased a lg or other brand of oven and cooktop looked good one burner stopped working andoven wont heat up
Customer non service – Be warned, we purchased our oven in a 'great deal' package from Harvey Norman two years before our build. However we were not told that the warrenty starts when the item is despached, not after installation. After finally installing it the clock died a year later and was told that its out of warranty so we had to pay $250 for a replacement. Then… Read more
almost another year either the cooling fan has died or the oven door wont close properly, because the control panel is scorching hot and the paint is rubbing off the temp dial. We contacted 'Customer care' and got the same brush off, that its out of warranty! Two major faults within two years of use, its just not good enough to expect people to pay nearly $1500+ for a oven that last just 2 years! Westinghouse should care more about their customers that keep them in business. Will be taking this us with consumer affairs! Only gas underbench It doesnt work!

Poor product, terrible service – Purchased July 2013. Baking is satisfactory, though not as good as with the ancient Chef oven it replaced. Grill door never closed properly and after about three months the grill fell apart. Over about two months since then phone calls to retailer, Westinghouse / Electrolux and repeatedly to the nominated service agents have failed to rectify… Read more
the problem. A letter to Electrolux has gone unanswered for over a month. We have been told that replacement parts have not even been ordered yet, apparently because of disagreement between service agent and Electrolux.. Bought because there is very little choice in gas ovens. Appears to be poorly made and service under warranty is appalling.

Do not buy this oven! – This oven was advertised as an all gas oven. Guess what, it isn't. Gas oven with an electric grill. Grill takes nearly ten minutes to heat up before you can actually toast anything efficiently and then you have to leave the grill door open forever for it to cool down. Gas oven is useless. I have had the technicians out six times in less… Read more
than a year. It doesn't cook evenly. No matter what part has been replaced and what temperature I cook on the bottom burns and the top is under cooked. Had the gas jets replaced, the thermostat and god only knows what else but it still doesn't cook properly. After every visit from the Technician and a part replaced the oven cooks differently ie cooks on right quicker than left, cooks on back quicker than front, etc.
Westinghouse is a brand that I would never buy like the Chef before it. Here I was thinking I was doing the right thing by buying Aussie made but instead I just gave them money for a cheap oven that doesn't work properly. Why did I reward them for a dud oven???? Never again.
Now looking at a European made electric oven because no one else makes a gas oven besides the two dud Aussie companies. Gee where is my choice gone? Gas or electric or should I say Aussie gas that doesn't work properly and is expensive or a European electric oven.
So be warned and don't end up like me paying $1300 for a supposedly all gas oven (in reality gas oven and electric grill) that doesn't work or cook properly. After a year and still in its warranty it is going in the rubbish skip because Westinghouse won't fix it and I am soooooo over it!!! Had a separate grill Grill is electric in a supposedly all gas oven. Doesn't cook evenly or properly. Total garbage!

Just will not keep working. Second westinghouse with same problem. Not surprising – Well, we have bought another ozzie made disaster from Westinghouse. Thank you Westinghouse for testing every atom of my patience for the second time. This oven looks great, feels nice and has a good quality feel to it. I have no gripes about the build quality. However, like many ovens of this brand, it failed to reignite within the first month… Read more
of life. Now it just will not light. Everything else works though! Looks pretty in the dark with its internal lights.........
Anyway, as per the instructions, the griller door MUST BE OPEN to use the oven. It vents through the griller. How ridiculous is that? But the delicate electronics live right above the hot air....... oh, and the red hot electric griller of course. So, the exterior of the control panel can get very hot when the oven is occasionally working.
Now, even I know that delicate electronic components should not get hot. Even if these ones are heat resistant, then the ignition system should work more than a few times.
We have used the oven a dozen times in eleven months. The last four or so times unsuccessfully as it failed to reignite. Now it just will not light up.
I have noticed many reviews of similar complaint regarding this brand's ovens.
I have had a plumber check the gas pipes and fittings out and all functions well. Problem is, the oven side of the gas hose just does not want to play. This seems to be a trend in the complaints about this brand, regardless of oven model.
Westinghouse...... THIS IS APPALLING!!!!!!
Since the gas supply is fine, I will get the oven tech to look at it one more time. Gee, maybe we should just get another brand. Bet the expensive control panel will need replacing.
Why should I spend 1300 bucks on a small oven for two people and want to throw a brick at it?
We have been slack and not bothered about the warranty. Additionally, the period we have taken to whinge about it is partly due to our hopelessness about this product and tendency to ignore the useless thing, not wanting to accept that we blew our cash on yet another westinghouse dud.
I really like the look of it, but what is the use of that when I know another baked dinner is going to be blown. We are used to cooking on the stove now so the oven kind of did not register until I checked out the many, many terrible reviews of and complaints about westinghouse products.
Such complaints have been happening for a long, long time it seems.......... so why has this company not picked up its game? Well, I guess it is because suckers like us just keep buying home made products to feel good about ourselves in the noble cause of supporting overpriced, rubbish reliability ozzie products.
I wonder if Hong Kong will mail me an oven. Bet it would be half the price delivered, ten times the quality and never miss a beat.
SHAMEFUL WESTINGHOUSE. NEVER, EVER AGAIN. Looks great. Nice finish. Not flimsy. Absolute typical Westinghouse rubbish. Stops working after the EFTPOS has cleared.
I bought the Westinghouse GGR475 last October and there are several things that I find annoying and… Read more
Give this oven a miss – The oven was installed in November 2011 and the technician has been out 3 times so far. The oven temperature is unreliable, with food taking far longer to cook than it should. I don't think the correct temperature level is maintained with the intermittent gas ignition design. The ignition box was changed, now the thermostat has been replaced so… Read more
it remains to be seen if this fixes the problem but I think I've got a lemon anyway. I will never buy another Electrolux product. Looks nice, finish is good. Unreliable oven temperature. The timer is only 2.5 hours duration. The oven will only turn on if the fan switch is used. Grill tray doesn't adjust. The control panel gets very hot when the oven's in use.
So disappointed – Our Westinghouse was a replacement oven selected by our insurance company after a grill fire in our first oven. I do not like the fact that it will sometimes not light when you want it to. Also the biggest complaint is the electronic clock and timer etc. It broke down after I had used it for just over the warranty period. It certainly does not… Read more
like being over the top of the oven or the grill for that matter, after flashing at me for about 2 months it finally went blank, okay I could live with that as long as the oven still worked, we then had a power cut and when the power came back on so did my flashing clock, and I object to having to pay someone $99 for the first 15 mins and $33 for the next 15 mins to get someone to tell me they have to replace it! How much is that going to cost on top of the nearly $200 for the hour it took him to tell me that. NOT HAPPY JAN!!@!
electronics that do not work after the warranty expires!!!
