Okay – My first ever electric cooktop. I am not a fan of electric, but I bought this one as it looked like it was easy to clean. Not as easy as I hoped though. I bought the right cleaning products and use them as per instructions, but some of the burned in marks will not come off. It cooks ok though, Just have to be very careful, not to boil over anything.  Show details

Disappointed – Like the other reviewers I have had my job for just over three years. Up until now it has been hassle free and very satisfactory, however it has suddenly gone troppo! It turns itself off after only a few seconds and refuses to work displaying the same error message (P9) as other reviewers. I have sent an email to Electrolux and will await their response.  Show details

Fell out of love – We have had this cooktop exactly 3years and it had been wonderful Unfortunately now it has had a major fault with the electronic components and will only work for a few seconds before it displays a H and switches itself off. Repair costs are more than the appliance is worth. So disappointed about it's limited lifespan. Guess that's why it is now a discontinued model. Will not be buying Westinghouse appliance again.  Show details

Throw it in the bin – Just out of warranty and the error E9 comes up. Electrolux fix it under warranty true to their word. Lasted 3 months broke down again. Service man replaces all the circuit boards and workings of the cook top. Everything new except for the top glass and case. Lasted 5 months broke down again. Every time it breaks down we have been without a… Read more

cooktop for up to a month. Electrolux are terrible to deal with. Even try to make me feel like I should be thanking them for the service. What a joke of a company. We have now been waiting 3 weeks for an answer on what they will do. Still no one has even contacted us this whole time.

Never again Electrolux. Where are all the honest Aussie companies gone? This piece of crap cost me more than $1800 and has had minimal use, and they won't accept that they have a dodgy product. Shame on you and your staff who are arrogant. If your staff read this then read all the other complaints. Good going eh? Half the reviews can't find a star less than one!!!!!!!!!!!

Broke within the year. crappy warranty – Broke down after less than 1 year of use. Warranty comes and tell me it wasn't install probably, mentions something about a gap under the benchtop where the unit is sitting. Didn't even lift the unit to inspect and told me warranty is void and left! Absolute joke. Will never buy Westinghouse/Electrolux again.

Terrible Service – We only had our brand new induction cooktop for 2 months when it broke down. We have been without a cooktop for 4 weeks. This is pretty hard going when you have 2 very young kids. Westinghouse continually says the parts will be coming week after week but still nothing. I regret buying all our Westinghouse appliances. I do not recommend… Read more

Westinghouse at all. It's a shame as I am a big supporter of Australian brands.

I have told all my friends, neighbours, family and colleagues not to buy this brand.

Brilliant cooking experience – My first induction cook top and I followed Choice's advice. Incredibly easy to cook anything from bacon and eggs, to steaming veg or stir fry. Fortunately, I have cast iron cookware but also purchased some nice yellow induction type saucepans which work just as well. Thought I had ruined the glass at one stage - something had boiled over and… Read more ·  1

burnt on to the surface. However, it came off with careful cleaning and its as good as new. Highly recommended!

First Impressions – The 70cm induction cooktop replaced a Westinghouse 60cm glass electric cooktop (it slotted into the same benchtop cut-out) and the initial results are nothing short of amazing. Whereas it could take up to 20 minutes to bring a small saucepan (1.8lt) of spuds to the boil, it now takes approximately 5 minutes! (Unfortunately, as we replaced the… Read more

glass electric cooktop within 2 weeks of moving in, I'm not able to see the difference having the induction cooktop will make on my power bill.)

To see how effective induction cooking was, we intially purchased a portable induction cooktop from Kogan ($50) and while it did prove that it was definitely much faster, the differences between the features were like chalk and cheese. In other words; don't judge the performance of the full-size induction cooktops based on the features of the cheaper item.

Will add further reviews after the cooktop has been used for awhile.

waste of money – was replaced under warranty in the first 2mths and now 2 years later the second cook top has blown up. Westinghouse will do all they can to avoid replacing any products. They are rude and unhelpful. Very disappointing that we spent $15 000+ on westinghouse when we built and have already replaced 6 of these items.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON WESTINGHOUSE! – 2.5 years ago we build a new home and fitted it out with Westinghouse. Since then we have had a fridge replaced, the cook top replaced, the oven repaired and i have been through 2 vacuum cleaners as i could not wait for the incredibly slow repair department of Westinghouse to fix the not so old one. The cooktop that has already been replaced… Read more

under warranty has now blown up and we are trying to fight for a replacement. It is unacceptable that we have spent so much money of these products only to get really poor after sales service and products that just dont work. Westinghouse should be avoided at all costs!!

Love the product – My problem turned out to be simple. the induction cooktop was installed incorrectly. There was no ventilation allowed in the cupboards and set too close to rear wall (tiles). This made the warranty void. So keep an eye on the installation.

Excellent! – I took a risk and purchased the stovetop after reading all the reviews. Was worried about the shutdown on overheat as I live in far north qld. I've had the westinghouse induction cooker for over 6 months and no dramas. It sits directly above my oven and I can have my oven going and cooking on it - no problem at all. I dont have ventilation in… Read more

the front of my cupboards. But there are large gaps on either side of the stove top that lead into my cupboards on either side of the stove (1 cupboard only each side, small kitchen). I've tried all 4 hobs going and oven maxed out - still cant fault. I did have a sparky run a separate circuit and provide its own 32A circuit breaker. due to high current draw. (recommended in manual and by sales assistant). Fast heat up, keeps heat, boils water extremely fast. Nothing

How did I ever cook without it – We bought this fantastic induction cooktop when the 6year old smeg started playing up. Wow! Everything I have read about on the bonuses of cooking with induction really is true. Even restaurants are starting to change from gas to induction. We purchased this cooker because I was lazy and did not want to route out a larger hole from our existing… Read more

one. The Westinghouse brand has not done us wrong in refrigerators also, so with this cooktop being the correct size, a reputable brand, price was reasonable, and a shallower depth as our cooktop sits above a drawer, it all worked. Another plus was the touch sensor for ease of cleaning rather than trying to clean around dials. Trying to turn the sensor up or down is harder to work with wet hands though. It does need a magnetic set of pots and pans, but you can buy a good set at oo.com.au for under 400 bux. Cooking with this cooktop takes time to learn again, as hot means hot, but it can turn the heat down in an instant. If using stainless steel, I find I dont really need to use a higher heat than 6 as it can burn the pan, but putting water in the burnt pan and reheating very fast can clean this problem quickly. This cooktop also heats water superfast and has now made my ricecooker obsolete. I am so glad we went with induction and with this model. heat control, easy cleaning 2.5 week delay on getting one

Love it – Our PHN644DU induction cooktop has never missed a beat, looks good, is incredibly easy to clean, and is so much nicer to use than the ceramic cooktop it replaced. We have had it 12 months now without any issues and use three (occasionally four) zones simultaneously without problem. It was installed at the same time as our kitchen was renovated… Read more

so after researching potential issues, we were careful to ensure that the right power supply was installed and that the cabinetry below met all the requirements for induction ventilation (our kitchen builder knew exactly how to approach things here). Streamlined, easy to clean, responsive heat, easy to use.

Awesome cooktop – Our Westinghouse PHN644DU is an awesome cooktop. We havent had any dramas at all with it. Unlike other people reviews on this cooktop, we havent had any dramas at all. Its easy to use, and looks very classy. Hopefully I dont have any problems like other people reviewing this cooktops has. So far, so reliable!

Expensive Crap – If you are thinking of purchasing a Westinghouse or Electrolux branded induction cooktop (or even any other appliance), think again. They are unreliable and when they break down, their service department sends out jokers who either can't diagnose the problem or refuses to listen to your complaints. In the end, not only will you be frustrated and… Read more

unhappy about the quality of their after sales service, you will be regretting like I did. You always hear about buying local and supporting Australian Industries but if Electrolux is running a circus, count me out.

Exceptionally poor warranty service

No complaints – This product is working perfectly - often I have 3 of the 4 zones going at once, it's so easy change settings with just a glance ... very quick heat up, efficient and easy to use ... nothing that I've found so far ...
